Room was fine, clean, shower worked quickly and well, and location quiet with no road noise; it had an extra single bed which the landlord did not want to be used to put luggage on. It was adequate for our 1 night stay. Off street parking in the rear was convenient and safe. Breakfasts were excellent and Landlord was friendly and helpful, directing us for evening meals in Chippenham itself about 4 miles away. Can recommend the Avanti Italian Restaurant there.

The extra single bed reduced the area we could use for our luggage as we are on a 7 week trip from Australia and had quite a bit to bring in and confined the area we could use.

Friendly welcome. My room was clean and comfortable, and had all I needed for my one-night stay prior to attending an event in Chippenham. I appreciated the attention to detail, such as the little hand soap, good loo roll, good-quality towels, bathmat, and bedding. Small details but important. The full English breakfast was freshly-cooked and delicious. Helen and Simon went to great trouble to provide gluten-free bread and sausages for me, as I had mentioned on my booking form that I had an intolerance to wheat. So kind! I highly recommend this very peaceful place about 10 minutes by road from Chippenham.

Only thing I can think of is that it would have been nice to have china cups and proper drinking glasses rather than disposable ones for the tea and coffee kit in my room. A second glass for the bathroom sink would also have been welcome.

Traditional pub with history back to the 1700's in a quiet village. Operated by an extremely pleasant couple who seem to work non-stop to keep their customers happy and deliver a personal service. Decent beer too! Breakfast was excellent full English. We took the vegetarian option. Some rooms are in separate building/s as ours was. It was very comfortable and clean, but is a bit dated in need of a refurb soon. We really enjoyed our stay. It was good value for money with breakfast included. We would recommend it to others. Thank you.

The room was exactly what i needed for my trip, the bed was comfy but a little softer than i prefer. The bathroom was very spacious, and the room was clean with plenty of space. Sat towards the rear of the property there was very little noise, but some sound does travel through the walls. The breakfast was basic but very enjoyable. The bar serves nice food in the evening and has a wonderful local pub atmosphere.

I would have liked a little more choice at breakfast as the menu was mostly limited to what could be made with the components of a full English. While it does serve me alright it would make me reluctant to bring my wife in the future due to limited number of plant-based options available.

Helen and. Chris are lovely hosts, made everyone feel at home. Very nice, fulfilling breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, everything worked well within the room. It is a quaint place with a friendly, local pub. Nicely situated about 5+ min from Chippenham. You can get meals at the Jolly Huntsman or go into Chippenham for more options. It served us well for our visit to Bath, Stonehenge, and area.

Can’t say there was anything we didn’t like.

We loved everything about the property, the decor may be a bit tired, but all added to the authenticity of the building. The room was very clean and comfortable. The food is superb. Everyone from the landlords down to the locals are so friendly and welcoming. We were on our honeymoon, and intend to go back on our anniversary.

There wasn’t anything to dislike. If I was to nit pick, a chair in the room would have been nice, but not essential.

The property was lovely, we had a huge room, lovely bathroom with a bath. Our bedroom was separate to the pub so we like this too. We had tea and coffee facilities included. The breakfast offered was nice, we did stray off the menu slightly and the staff were happy to accommodate this.

In the bedroom we had tea and coffee facilities but unfortunately no plug for the kettle. There was a tv in the room, but it was far too small for the size of the room that it was hard to see the picture.

On arrival was greeted warmly. Room was basic but absolutely fine. Dinner in the hotel was lovely, great atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. Very much enjoyed my one evening. Breakfast was lovely the next day, again staff very helpful and happy to oblige any request. I totally enjoyed my brief stay there.

Checked in about 3pm and there was nothing available until 6pm but that was not really a major issue.

The room was actually a small apartment with separate bedroom, bathroom and an excellent lounge/diner with a fully equipped kitchen included. effectively a bachelor flat. Breakfast was great, with a choice of menu and great service.

The steps to get into it. Both the bar and dining were closed due to illness and staff issues, despite it being a pub. Had to go out for a healthy McDonalds!

This pleasant pub hotel is located in a small village easily accessed from the Junction 17 of the M4 via A350 and is well signposted. There is free on site parking. Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The room was comfortable, with free secure wi-fi. Food was good in the evening, as was the breakfast from 07.30.

The wi-fi kept dropping out and there was a person snoring in an adjacent room, that I could hear. I would prefer breakfast to be available a little earlier.
