We were warmly welcomed by the staff who were extremely helpful. Our room was delightful with an enormous, comfortable bed, a charming sitting area and a spacious bathroom with a large bath and walk-in shower. We also had a sitting area outside the french windows. The public rooms in the old house were large and comfortably furnished and very restful. We had a lovely sandwich lunch in the drawing room. We also had dinner and breakfast in the Walled Garden Reataurant. The service was excellent and breakfast was particularly good. We very much enjoyed using the Spa facilities especially the hydrotherapy pool and the steam room.

The staff at the front desk were fabulous. The large non -chlorine -smelling pool was divine. The grounds were beautiful. My bathroom was large, clean and wonderful.

The staff at the FRONT desk/ reception at the SPA could be friendlier. (Some were fine) Please know I am not talking about therapists. The therapists were very good- Sophie and Lauren! Gas blowers were loud and smelly. Sweeping around rooms and gardens is environmentally and aesthetically sensitive!! I was hoping for a room that was less generic in its use of browns to disguise dirt. More light colours for charm in decor is needed I think- bedrooms and main house. Gas burning stones next to pool are too hot for summer and also send a terrible environmental message!

The food was excellent, the hotel felt homely, the grounds were great, the staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful.

Not a criticism, just feedback. The bath gel is very high on the wall and fixed so not easy to use in the bath. Block of soap please. The television was faulty for two of our three night stay, I spent quite a bit of time at reception each day getting them to mend it. It was replaced for the last night. At check out there were several items from the restaurant on my bill which I hadn’t had, if I hadn’t have checked and mentioned them I would have been charged for them. Apparently our room number was mixed up with a table number in the restaurant. Not a mistake I expect from a five star hotel.

the poor routine of my massage, sometimes spa just hire young one and just do a routine than to feel what the body need, and of course the way you can t pay cash !! this is a disgrace, they are bleeming the COViD like cash going to make you sick 🤔 or maybe it s the laziness of the director ( less work for him), room need an update too and need to change the mattress. appart that was good

It is great if you are looking for piece of mind. Very quiet,m and relaxing.the staff are so friendly and welcoming, nice tea room with fire place. Horse riding activity, great restaurants and huge gardens and nature. Best spa ever and pool. I enjoyed how they prepare the room for sleeping every night.

Not all activities are available at the time, you have to check in advance. The room has no AC and it had a bit of mold smell.

Great location, friendly staff, beautiful estate, cosy rooms, great food. A very relaxing holiday.

Great breakfast, excellent brasserie restaurant, excellent cycling facility, fantastic swimming pool. Great sitting room/games room facility available to chillout after meals and enjoy either a glass of wine, coffee, herbal tea or hot chocolate.

Both, the dining restaurant and food, of hotel's main restaurant, were more a michelin than a star, ie. not to our taste in any respect. Preferred the brasserie for our dining, where the food is excellent, staff very friendly and restaurant light and bright. Hotel's main restaurant is perfectly elegant as a breakfast room, just not suited for the evening dining.

The room was spacious and well-decorated. We has all the amenities we needed (robes, slippers, working TV, hair dryer, etc.). The hotel has plenty of activities, so take advantage! We did archery, horseback riding, went to the spa, at at the on-site restaurant, and played tennis (with rackets and balls they provided). It felt like such a genuine country-side experience and was simultaneously relaxing and activity-filled. Staff was wonderful and kind. We would absolutely return.

Our only "complaint" if you can even call it that is that if you come by train (as we did), getting back into the town will cost you 20 pounds (even if it's just to the pub 5 minutes away) because taxis are so few and far between. The hotel was amazing in ordering us taxis as needed, but if you don't have a car, your only choice for dinner is the on site Brasserie or the more pricy Michelin star restaurant (or paying 40 pounds round trip). The Brasserie is actually incredible though, so we had no qualms about eating here for two dinners and two lunches.

Loved my stay here - the house & rooms lived up to expectation, the staff were unfailingly professional, polite and friendly, the spa facilities are modern and the food almost universally excellent. The park lands are beautiful and the equestrian centre is such an added bonus. It managed to combine formality with charm and a relaxed approach to guests.

The tiniest niggles - slightly slow internet in my room and a decidedly mediocre mushroom risotto.

The hotel was spotless and the grounds immaculately kept. The staff really couldn’t do enough for you they were so welcoming and friendly. The spa and pool facilities are the best I’ve been to. Will definitely be returning.

Loved everything but someone taking drinks orders by the pool or ordering via a QR so you didn’t have to go back into the restaurant each time would be great.
