We love this hotel and first stayed there approximately 20 years ago. It still maintains its original charm which we love. Breakfast was excellent with our name on the table and we were served at the table. The new owners are certainly working hard at maintaining this beautiful old hotel and doing an excellent job.

Maybe the stairs as we’re getting older but that’s minor and so far not a problem.

Host was very helpful. I had a problem with my ebike on route, and he accepted a delivery so I could fix it when I got to the hotel. He allowed us to charge our bikes in an external, secure building and even made sure they were fully charged before going to bed. Location is excellent, and breakfast was brilliant, the best on my trip. I'd certainly stay here again.

Our room was on the top floor and had a sloping ceiling at my side of the bed. Although I tried to avoid it, I still banged my head (my wife just laughed).

Great location for exploring the romantic Rhine. The German breakfast is excellent, and the hosts are very kind and helpful. We had a family room on the top floor. Everything is very clean. There is easy parking about a two to three minute walk away, but you can drop off and pick up nearly next to the hotel (the hotel entrance is on a pedestrian zone).

Be aware that the rooms are distributed over 3 or 4 floor levels, if you have a room on the top floor, you will have to climb a lot of stairs up and down. There are some heavy doors between the levels, someone frail or a child may need help opening them or holding them open.

The host was very helpful, accommodating a late arrival and providing very useful information about where to park in St. Goar. The hotel is on a street that is closed to cars after 10:00 a.m. each day, and my room had a balcony where I could look down the shopping street at the famous Rheinfels Castle. My room was carefully cleaned, and the breakfasts are excellent.

Guests with mobility limitations should know that the hotel has no elevator, so they may have to walk up one or two flights of stairs. Also, it's smart to depart before 10:00 a.m., so you can load your car in the street that is closed to cars for the rest of the day.

The Breakfast spread was simple but very good and filling, personalized touch (like a reserved table for each guest), good sized room, mattress topper to join the two single beds, the owner's hospitality and the perfect location. We could also park our pram near the reception to avoid carrying it all the way up and down each time.

The bed was a little springy but it wasn't a deal breaker. Also, it is worth to note that there's no elevator and only 2 rooms are on the first floor, 4 rooms are on the second and the family rooms are on the top floor. Wasn't a problem for us but certainly challenging if you come with a large luggage and are not fit!

We had a wonderful stay. Large rooms and comfortable beds, everything was very clean, and the breakfast was delicious and with more options than one can have. The location of the hotel was excellent for walking all around Sankt Goar, with many restaurants nearby. To top it all off, the host was extremely helpful. He did much more than was expected when we had a problem with our car, by promptly bringing his car to jump start ours, for which we are very grateful.

The location of the hotel is great, close to the train station, restaurants, and to the KDRhine river cruises. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The hosts are attentive and helpfull, qnd they speak perfect english. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff, comfy rooms, good breakfast, nice little town, clean bedrooms and bathroom. Small shop at the entrance with local wines and beers. Beautiful surroundings especially in the mornings where we saw deer crossing the road (watch out). Rooms were very well prepared by the owner

It's an somewhat older, yet very clean and well kept hotel with friendly staff

Breakfast was amazing and the host was very accommodating. They gave us the parking information before we arrived. The balcony was lovely and we had a castle view on one side and river view on another side. The room was spacious and clean.

Unfortunately, there was a concert (electro music) up in the castle and it was a little noisy from the streets from all the partying at night because we had to keep the windows open for fresh air. And thats why the castle was closed to visit. It is not the hotel's fault of course, but something to keep in mind for planning.

The room was very large with everything we required. It was clean and comfortable. The location was excellent, in the middle of the town, close to the Rhine, and a pleasant walk to the castle. The breakfast was enjoyable. The owner spoke good English and was helpful with recommendations. We did need to carry our luggage up one floor, but stairwell was generous. Free parking nearby meant we did not need to use the car - everything was within walking distance.
