Excellent stay! The check-in was efficient. We had 3 rooms for our family of 6, including grandparents. The hotel has an elevator which was appreciated for our elderly parents. We were very satisfied with the rooms, as they were exactly as pictured on booking! The flower boxes outside all had fresh flowers in bloom, a nice surprise for October. The breakfast room is wonderful, like stepping back in time, but of course with modern comforts. It is not possible to be more central in historical Bacharach. I can speak German, but my family does not, and the staff accommodated with good English skills. I personally had my best rest of our vacation so far here. The bedding was comfortable and we appreciated the climate control at night. Other guests we talked to were also very satisfied with the hotel. Congratulations to the whole team at the hotel for a good experience!

We stayed in one of the hotel's apartment and it is brilliant. Pretty much all you need on a holiday. The only thing that will make it better is probably an aircon - when hot we had to open the windows and with trains going and windows facing the beergarden and some local car repair shop it was not quiet. But the rest was top notch - location in the middle of the town is brilliant, space is definitely better than any hotel and highly recommended for a few days stay.

Breakfast is not worth it so if staying in apartment, I would recommend to pay a cheaper fare without it and get all the stuff you need in a little corner shop in building next door. Stuff on breakfast was not attentive except one day where lady did actually look and replenish things. We also went to the hotel's restaurant one evening - probably worst service we had in a few years, it took 45 mins between started and main course and restaurant had about 4 tables with customers and when we finally reminded about our food and it was brought up it was cold. Absolutely not worth it - there are better restaurants in town in all service, quality of food and pricing categories.

We stayed in one of the apartments managed by the hotel that is located in Koblenzer Str. 3, though the breakfast was offered in the main building of the hotel. The apartment was much bigger than we expected and looked nicer than on the pictures. It was very well furnished though the taste could be very subjective, but it was very comfortable, functional and very clean. It had all the amenities, full kitchen with drip coffee machine and everything you may need if decide to cook. The mini-market in front was also very convenient. In the corridor you can find fresh towels, toiler paper and tissues and everything else. The check-in instruction was very clear and easy. The parking for the car was just in front of the building and under our windows. The breakfast was rich and had everything including variety of vegan options that we greatly appreciate! The staff was available and courteous - helped us with all questions and advice what to do and what to visit. The beds were comfortable. Definitely will recommend and come back!

Not a big deal, but a bottle of water in the apartment would be nice. The noise is an issue - but it is not the hotel's fault, we just did not expect the town to have the traffic at nights and some wine shops open early in the morning, but it was not a huge deal for us.

This was one of my favorite hotels in our tour of Germany. We had been chatting with a couple who had booked a place in the castle up the hill, now converted to a hostel, and we were so happy to be down in the village. Our room looked right onto the church, I think St. Peters, which was fun. The beds were comfortable. Me and my wife slept on a typical German double bed and the kids slept in two armchairs that folded out into beds. Right up the street is the old town wall. We had both dinner and breakfast there and both were delicious. Tied for first in our favorite German hotel breakfasts. The staff was very helpful in coordinating a later than usual dinner to accommodate a little Rhine boat ride we wanted to take. The dock for the Rhine boats was maybe a 5-minute walk from the door of the hotel. So convenient.

We loved everything about Altkolnischer Hof. The hotel is in a well maintained historic building. Our room was lovely-comfortable and beautifully decorated. It was quite hot while we were there and the air conditioning worked well. The buffet breakfast is generous and delicious with everything you could want. We had dinner twice at the hotel and the food is excellent traditional German cuisine. The town is picturesque and quiet filled with traditional buildings as well as a castle at the top.

Everything was great. Nothing to dislike.

Location was ideal - easy walk to restaurants, historic sites, Rhine river, vehicle parking lot was very close and secure. Staff were amazing! Dining room was cosy & elegant. Tablecloths, candles. Breakfast was fantastic. There was a little slate board with your surname on it for your breakfast and dinner table. Dinner was delicious. Elevator to the rooms was handy with heavy suitcases. Large balcony allowed us to appreciate the surroundings and indulge in a cocktail.

Very nice room with breaksfast nook offering wonderful view of town's scenic main street. Big, comfy bed. Excellent breakfast and dinner in hotel restaurant. Location in heart of scenic town, easy walk from train station, and only a 5-minute walk to either of the two Rhine River boat excursion docks.

Wasn't clear to me on arrival that hotel guests will usually use the side entrance (just a litte bit around the corner from front entrance when the restaurant is not open). But there is a small sign saying that.

We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment block. It was right opposite the supermarket and a short stroll to the KD ticket office. The room was very comfortable and spacious and we felt right at home. The bed was very big and comfortable. The Wi-Fi never dropped out and staff were available to assist with any issue. In addition, the location was excellent as it was in easy walking distance to the train station, restaurants and local sights. We would definitely recommend Altkolnischer Hof apartments as a great place to stay.

We stayed for 2 weeks in the 2 bed room apartment and it was large and very comfortable. The modern and well-furnished apartment is equipped with everything needed for an extended stay. An added bonus is the building is directly across from the grocery store! There is plenty of living space and the outside area very nice for meals or enjoying the weather. The staff was very responsive to any questions and concerns. The refrigerator was not keeping food cool enough so they provided a small refrigerator to help keep food colder. They promised a replacement but they were unable to secure a new unit before we left.

Absolutely nothing! However, a washing machine would be a nice addition!

Beautiful hotel, comfortable room. Nice balcony (with caveats). Excellent restaurant.

smoking by others in neighbouring rooms' balconies required us to shut our balcony door/windows. (besides disturbing others, it's an old ancient wooden building... it makes NO sense to allow smoking anywhere)
