The panoramic sea views from our room were simply breathtaking, waking up to the sound of waves and the sight of the ocean stretching endlessly was a highlight of our stay. The room turn-down service was thoughtful and comforting, especially the surprise of a hot water bottle tucked into the bed. A small touch that made a big difference on cooler nights. The fillet steak served at dinner was outstanding, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour, easily one of the best meals we've had in South Africa. What truly sets The Sands apart is its staff. Every member of the team was warm, attentive and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. Their hospitality made us feel not just welcome, but truly cared for. If you're looking for a luxurious, peaceful retreat with world-class service and stunning views, The Sands is a must.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Sands. From the moment we arrived to the time we departed. My partner and I felt truly cared for, with every staff member showing genuine attentiveness to our needs. The attention to detail was consistently impressive: from the personalized welcome cards and thoughtful turndown messages, to the room being perfectly set each evening. One small gesture that stood out to me was seeing our car had been given some TLC before our departure—what a thoughtful and unexpected touch! Coming from the hospitality industry myself, where I manage a 5-star facility, I want to emphasize that this feedback is sincere and informed by my experience. Although we were very happy with our stay and felt genuinely well cared for throughout, we were a little disappointed with the quality of the food at both breakfast and dinner. Given the high standard of the rest of the experience, the meals didn’t quite meet the same level in terms of flavour and presentation. Additionally, I feel that a refresh of the dinnerware and cutlery would make a noticeable difference. Even the introduction of one or two new sets of plates could elevate the overall dining experience and better complement the quality service your team already delivers. I offer this feedback with the intention of being helpful, as the overall experience was exceptional, and the hospitality was outstanding.

Rather small place, but placed overlooking the sea and with almost seacontact. We had a room on the bottom floor, with our own way out to the area at the sea and the small pool. The room itself was very very nice and we really loved it. A place to come back to. The staff was very nice and serviceminded. The parking was in front of the house behind a looked gate. Very safe. The restaurant had great views overlooking the sea and the breakfast was very good and nice.

The only thing we didn't like was when we had dinner in the restaurant the first night. The waitress seemed to be quite new and the main dish cam to the table before we had finished the starter. But the risotto we had as main wasn't any good. It remined of a plate of dry sticky rice porridge, not good at all. That was something they could have done much better. But maybe it was a bad day - as the breakfast had both excellet service and was very good and tasty !

Such a beautiful location, room overlooking the beach, big room, great facilities , tea, coffee etc. beach towels provided. Big bathroom, with huge bath and separate shower. Dinner on site was lovely, good breakfast too. Quite town, but excellent for a peaceful, safe beach stay. Locked, onsite car parking.

it was a little cold in the dinning room for dinner but the staff lit a fire an d we were well looked after

What an absolute piece of heaven with the most beautiful scenery of the sea! This boutique hotel is the best we have ever stayed in. From the personalised greeting cards to the amazing turn down service, the staff go out of their way to make you feel like royalty. The rooms are exquisite with everything you need and more and the dinner was absolutely delicious. If we could rate it higher we would!

The view was very nice and the room faciities were very good We also had the evening meal on 2 occasions and the food was very nice

The breakfast was okay but the portions were a bit small. I do not eat eggs or bacon so I asked for just sausage and mushrooms. I received two sausages about 5cm long and a spoonful of mushrooms not really much to get me through the day

The staff and their service were exceptional even before we arrived. Sanga phoned to check on our arrival time and sent us a menu to look at. Staff super friendly and professional !! We felt so welcome and looked after. Food was amazing, perfect ! Room was amazing !!! The view !! Everything was perfect - really 5 star quality. The under floor heating is a great extra - makes a huge difference. Everything clean. Spa bath big, and with a view, shower huge. So relaxing.

The location is absolutely stunning. Literally just above the rocky coastline. The room was large with chairs and outdoor furniture. Tea & Coffee making in the room. We ate in the small restaurant and the wood stove had been lit. Nice and cosy. Delicious and huge Oysters on the menu.

The swimming pool was a bit grubby. Door locks were provided for the patio doors but despite numerous attempts we couldn't get them to work. In general the property felt like it had seen better days but the tremendous location made up for that.

breakfast, setting and service was superb. the location and access to the beach is absolutely excellent. the staff were super friendly and helpful.

furniture, tv and decoration should be upgraded. if that was done, i would definitely visit more often and bring other guests along.

Very friendly staff, good service, spacious rooms, lovely soft furnishings and interior decor style, best location in St Francis - right on the beach and superb ocean veiws from the room. Peaceful setting. Clean. Good facilities. Free secure parking on site

Bathroom felt like it could do with some updating. I did feel it was a bit expensive compared to hotels we stayed in during the rest of our trip for the same price in other locations, all the others were superior in quality for a similar price. The breakfast could have been a little better. We asked for soft fried eggs and both mornings they were overcooked and had hard yolks. Mistakes were made with food orders although the service was always friendly so you forgave it! It seemed strange that the hot drinks (coffee etc) ordered with breakfast (which was included in the room price) cost extra on top. I've never come across that before. The parking was a little tight for 5 cars
