Large room and very large bathroom, ideal for couple + child. Beachfront room with sea view was very nice. Staff extremely helpful and polite. Beds comfy. Within walking distance of the town centre (~10 mins)

Could do with a lick of paint; it's a lovely building but clearly has seen better days. Noise insulation to the other rooms was very good, but rather poor to the passing traffic outside. Impossible to completely block out the morning sun, so we ended up waking early. Restaurant looked very good (if a little cold, from the sea breeze), but saw nothing suitable for kids on the menu so we never ate there.

Beautiful hotel, loved the architecture particularly the staircase. Staff were friendly and our room had a fabulous side view of the sea and the terraced houses. We had a drink in the bar and the atmosphere was lovely overlooking the sea. A good position on the sea front, about a ten minute walk to the pier and shops and restaurants of which Worthing has many. Overall a very nice stay. Breakfast was ok.

The room had many minor inconveniences that if we had stayed longer would have been annoying. There was no charger in the bathroom for my toothbrush and the bath was so high I couldn’t get in it to use the shower (I am 5ft 2” & my husband is 5ft 8” and said it was difficult). As we were only there for the one night it didn’t really matter, a beautiful freestanding bath but totally impractical. Also, the plugs were in very inconvenient places, hands and knees to plug in hairdryer and chargers required for everyday life. The window wouldn’t stay open which for September wasn’t a huge problem but would be stifling in the summer.

The room was very clean and felt homely. The bed was very comfy and the extra chairs in the room were really handy for the family. It was excellent you have Netflix. The kids enjoyed this. The bathroom was beautiful, a proper bathtub! The carpet was cosy on your feet and very clean. Everything you needed was in the room and the standard of cleanliness is excellent. The breakfast was fabulous and great to have table service instead of a buffet. This was a bonus for us. We enjoyed our stay and everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

The entrance to the hotel a little disappointing. We just expected a bigger and grander reception area as the overall feel of the hotel was much bigger, on the seafront.

The first night room (207) was inadequate and unfit for purpose, but on raising the matter next morning we were dealt with very fairly, courteously and efficiently by the duty manager (Michelle) who gave us a choice of two much better rooms. After that we really enjoyed our stay.

see above re room 207. The storage space was inadequate even for one person, let alone two. The window to the bed area was dirty and the view was ugly. The room was cramped and the fitted furniture had no drawer space.it really isn’t fit to be let as a double room. The subsequent room we had was totally different;spacious, well fitted and a pleasure to be in, but if I had to rate the hotel on the basis of the first room I should give it 1 out of 10, or C minus!

Spacious clean and comfortable room. Nicely decorated. Comfortable bed with nice pillows and bedding. Very nice efficient staff. Really great, freshly cooked breakfast. Great location.

The bathroom. An elevated bath and low ceiling meant the shower head is attached to the wall quite low. I’m 5’8” (174cm) and had to lean over to get my head under the water. There’s no way anyone taller than me would be able to stand properly in the shower. And a huge gap under the shower door mean huge pools of water on the floor. This just is not good enough for the room rate that is charged. The outside of the building looks terrible and need maintenance.

So much about this hotel is done so well. Suite was lovely, and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, and the bar and restraunts are gorgeous rooms. Only 2 things was we found it awkward if you wanted a bath as, the supplied shampoo and wash stuff was fixed to wall at a height where we had to keep standing up just to use it when having a bath. Needs more convenient positioning. Lastly was just a shame that the balcony area outside out room clearly was in need of repair and so not usable and couldn't see sign this was underway. Hopefully they will be repairing this soon so maybe if we re- visit in summer months maybe it will be usable to enjoy a drink in the sun. Overall though a positive experience and would love to return again if we are needing a place to stay in worthing.

This was a solo trip, the hotel is elegant, lots of character from I think mid to late 1800’s, this is right up my street! I had a single room, more than adequate, comfy bed, high ceiling which I love. There was various sachets of tea, hot chocolate, coffee, ample really, biscuits. The bathroom was a shower with a small step, nice toiletries to wash hands, hand moisturiser and also shower gel and shampoo. Breakfast, nice breakfast area, the breakfast was lovely, there is continental to choose from and two toasters which is handy to do your own toast. I had a cooked breakfast too! Excellent choice, the mushrooms were delicious, more choices of a hot breakfast to choose from. Fruit juice is brought to you in a carafe, so is the tea and coffee. Would definitely stay again. Friendly reception staff and also the young man in the breakfast room.

Very minor the kettle in the room had a shortish lead and was difficult to plug in, the plug sockets are near the skirting boards.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and willing to help from start to finish. Dinner was very nice and a good price. Breakfast is also good with cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, toast and a good choice of cooked breakfasts. I like that you are served tea/coffee and juice instead of going backwards and forwards to get it. In all, a very nice hotel.

Couldn't open the room window. It wouldn't stay up so had to lodge a coat hanger in the frame to keep it up. Music in restaurant too loud and boom boom! Not in keeping with the ambience of building.

We loved the location we stayed in the executive suite it was so big and super comfy bed . Bathroom was stunning loved the decor, but what stood out to us was the exceptional customer service from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. A shout out to Sharon who greeted us with a friendly smile she was very friendly and professional a real credit to your establishment there was also another lady sorry I didn’t ask your name petite with fab glasses also very professional and friendly .and a real plus for your hotel Reception desk staff also . Breakfast was very tasty . We would recommend a stay here you will not be disappointed. Everything is spit on . We will be back .

Really can’t think of anything that we didn’t like .

Daily room cleaning, clean towels daily, water bottle changed daily, great side window view of the sea front, able to access Netflix for a late night movie, afternoon drinks in the bar, very friendly and helpful staff. Decent choice of buffet and cooked breakfasts, evening meal at hotel very nice. Room was a nice size and bed very comfortable

The shower was just a little tough to work out how to use but it was adequate enough.
