The warm greeting when we arrived, the upgraded room , polite, curtesous staff. Beautiful setting, quiet, rural, white doves cooing in the morning, heated towel rack. Professional staff and friendly 👌 loved it. This was a last-minute change of itinerary arriving from the USA, we had missed our connection to Scotland, and we booked the castle last minute. So happy we found Amberley and the local pub was terrific, too, The Black Horse.
Breakfast was a little awkward due to asking for a few changes , the Kitchen got it wrong twice. But no big deal. Great staff.

The best nights sleep I have had in a long time. Lovely helpful staff. Quiet. Have wanted to stay for a long time - glad I made it. Ivor was a really nice guy on reception - very obliging.
Very small details:- could get the shower head on the rail to stay in place - very loose - which I forgot to mention. Bacon and breakfast very hard and dry. Brown toast was not very brown and cold and hard - a slice of whole meal or with seeds would have been so much nicer. Rest of breakfast good. The Earl Grey tea was excellent.

This gorgeous castle is a real gem. it’s absolutely beautiful and the history has been so well preserved and beautifully maintained and presented. Our rooms were gorgeous and comfortable, with beautiful modern washrooms and luxurious towels and linens. The restaurant was delicious and the service was professional and knowledgeable. The hotel staff and management were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We loved our stay here. The nearby village has a very lovely atmospheric pub and restaurant as well.
Everything was perfect!

Would have liked Prosecco or similar to be available. Was not met at the door so had to wander through the restaurant. Was told to choose a table which we did but was then moved from it as it was set for three. It was embarrassing to be moved and not necessary as the restaurant was virtually empty. About 10 minutes later a couple came in and was seated at the table we had chosen and the third place setting was removed. Not happy.
The evening meal option could have had a wider choice rather than a set meal with a set price.

Our room (Classic) was adequate and the bathroom was spacious but we had to deal with an inconvenient structural (historic!) beam. We had one dinner in addition to the two included breakfasts, and my husband said it was one of his best dinners ever. We enjoyed sitting in one of the comfortable beautifully decorated lounges for pre-dinner drinks after poking into every corner of the amazing grounds. The neighborhood was peaceful. The staff was very helpful about arranging breakfast as early as possible our last morning so we could be on our way quickly for our flight home.

Amberley Castle is one of the most special places I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The castle is beautiful, the rooms exceptionally comfortable & clean. With only 19 rooms it was never overcrowded so there was always a comfortable sofa to relax on, in one of the three lounges. The dinner was excellent, an unusual & varied "tasting menu" with a wide choice of wines. The staff in every area are friendly & helpful.
Nothing could have been better!

The property is beautiful. The grounds have lovely flowers everywhere and are very well maintained. The buildings are interesting and comfortable. The doves that live in the castle walls are fun to watch and add a bit of fairytale to the experience. We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but had a wonderful dinner in the town at the Black House. (Highly recommend it.) Breakfast at the castle was great with options that made everyone happy.
The castle is about a 20 minutes/.9 mile walk from the train station. If you arrive by train, you will likely be walking. There is nothing around the train station and the hotel did not have a car to send to pick us up. (The did offer to call a taxi but it seemed silly to wait, so we walked.) It would be nice if the hotel could send someone to pick folks up from the train station. Our only other issues were that there was no refrigerator in the room and no air conditioning. It was comfortable, but a bit warm.

We had dinner and the food was excellent.
Although I really appreciate the music you play I think a more varied selection would prevent boredom. My music, suggestions are: classical - chamber music, old music, classical guitar, classical harp. As well jazz piano, jazz guitar, violin, flute and clarinet. Chilled flamenco. You can probably make your own list as long as the music is relaxing and not abrasive. Regards Stephan Syme

Unique experience to stay at such a well-preserved castle in the UK. Our children loved the knights and running around the castle grounds. The breakfast is fantastic, but most of all the staff really goes above and beyond in terms of service! We'll be back and are already looking forward to the tasting menu at the main restaurant.

The attention to detail was fantastic. I have dietary issues and need to eat gluten free and the resturant handled everything superbly and went out of their way to produce wonderful food for me. Nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to adapt nearly all the dishes to suit my needs. (It was the first time in many years that I was able to enjoy a tarte tatin!)
It's a shame that the bar/room menu isn't more expansive. I couldn't eat a full meal in the restaurant two nights running and the other options are fairly limited.
