Absolutely AMAZING. Beautiful, central, great views! I will try my best to come back write a more detailed review, but in the meantime, I need to send the highest compliments I can. Explorer well exceeded our expectations. The thoughtfulness was top notch. We basically landed up doing a pretty last minute booking for my bridal party to be able to get ready with me after our initial accommodation changed their minds about the number of people (please don't do this to a bride 2 days before the wedding - rather just say no!). From the very first minute, Explorer was so gracious with the booking. They replied promptly that they would be absolutely fine with the others joining and even made the dining area/outside area available for my visitors. It is perfect for getting ready for a wedding - ample space, plenty of mirrors in the room etc. (I will note though that I immediately said we are not a rowdy bunch and don't drink, and I made it very clear that we would respect the other guests so that they had it in writing as assurance on their side) I was so blown away that the guesthouse wasn't recommended to us by any of the vendors, but had I known how amazing it is, I would have put the whole wedding party together there. The only thing to keep in mind is that the pool isn't fenced in, so if you have little ones, you need to be vigilant but I can't praise them enough on the rest.

It's one of those places where you really have to dig for negatives (in a good way!) and I'd say the only thing is the minimum 2 night stay because quite a few of our guests could only stay one night and so it didn't even come up as an option.

The hosts Simonette and Christine and the cleaning staff were wonderful. Simonette and Christine were very helpful and addressed all our needs. The property was central, safe, beautiful and private. It was a short walk to a restaurant, short drive to many others and a 10 min drive to Somerset Mall. The beds were great, bathrooms very clean, facilities (eg coffee machine and kettle)fabulous and rooms spacious. The breakfasts were wonderful. I was really impressed and would definitely stay again.

Lovely and helpful hosts and staff. Assisted with transport to and from our function and early checking, we really appreciated. Enjoyed the selection and quality of breakfast. Very good experience. Thank you!

All good! Just note, no a/c, during summer, the area gets really hot. May need to think about that for future 🙂, there is a ceiling fan that does help. Tx

The staff were caring and attentive. Accommodation was comfortable and spacious.

The only negative for me was no DSTV, but that's a very small negative as everything else was wonderful.

Friendly and helpful staff and the room and bathroom is spacious and very clean. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and a good selection. The public area like swimming pool and veranda is lovely with enough seating area. I can highly recommend the Explorer guesthouse.

One light bulb was flickering - but did not influence the excellent stay. (Just saying as I didn't get the opportunity to tell the hosts.)

We enjoyed our stay very much and ended up staying for longer than initially planned. The staff were very welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. There are solar panels for backup power during the loadshedding, so we always had access to power and WIFI when needed. There was a day when the water was cut, but this was a regional issue due to the a main water pipe burst that the city had to fix. The staff tried their best to work around it. Thank you all for a memorable stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the Explorer Guesthouse. Awesome hosts and stuff, beautiful house, garden and pool, great breakfast, stunning sea view. We did a hike at the nearby Helderberg Nature Reserve and visited the nearby Vergelegen wine estate.

Christine was very friendly and welcoming and made our stay really pleasurable. They even accommodated us with an earlier check in upon request and we were able to take work calls from the very cozy common area during the day.

Friendly effiecent staff, Spacious room, breakfast area and breakfast was great

Room was too close to main road, traffic noise, but luckily it became quiet during the night. Shower was a little small.
