Outstanding location. Some of the staff was exceptional. Beds were very comfortable. Loved sitting outside in the square and eating breakfast.

Some of the rooms are quiet and some are very noisy because they face the main square. The battling mariachi bands are fun at 8:00 pm but not when you are trying to sleep. Be sure to ask for a quiet room. Any place on the square is going to have some really noisy rooms though. One family member complained that there was a sewage smell in the bathroom, mine was fine. There is very little Mexico vibe at this old hotel - classical music playing in the lobby, chandeliers. No elevator.

Older historical property conveniently located in the heart of the central district on the lovely Jardin de la Union plaza. Close to shops, restaurants, cafes and within walking distance to all the main sites of GTO. "Balcony" room is extremely large room with 20' high period architecturally detailed ceiling. Good room service. Decent breakfast.

It's an older property so the appointments are somewhat worn and could use updating. Not sure if were assigned the correct room as the description of a "balcony" room was not a true balcony overlooking the street but an impractical small 5'x8' sitting area over the bathroom that's accessed by a spiral staircase. The room is located adjacent to the main stairs separated only by large drapery covered glass panels so noise from other guests is apparent. The hot/cold water delivery was erratic and we requested a replacement mattress as it was rock hard. Friends who accompanied us commented on their mattress or lack thereof.

The location and breakfast were amazing. Staff were very friendly. Ac unit worked well. We stayed in a suite , which was very quiet contrary to all the other reviews that indicated it was too loud.

I can’t say there was anything I disliked from the hotel on the streets. You do have all the students asking if you want to take tours, but that has nothing to do with the hotel.

Location was perfect. Right on the center and easy to walk everywhere.

Unfortunately, the live music goes on until midnight and it's quite loud in the rooms that face the front.

This beautiful old hotel is located in the center of el centro. Can't get any closer to the action. Restaurants, music, museums, shopping....everything. The plaza and immediate streets are blocked off to traffic making it less congested and a bit quieter. I would suggest getting a room on a upper floor and towards the back of the hotel because the mariachis and other small groups play full blast until late into the evening. I was in room 18 and could hear it but it was not very loud and although a light sleeper it wasn't a problem, bring ear plugs to be safe. The room was very spacious and the breakfast was good with seating inside or out. The day manager at the desk was very helpful and courteous.

The room could use a bit more attention to cleanlyness.

Amazing location, spotless and comfortable room, beautiful art and decor, and a staff that went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable and safe.

The windows weren’t soundproof, so outside noises, especially from live music at the nearby kiosk, could be heard in the room.

Hotel Luna is a beautiful colonial property in the middle of all the action in Guanajuato. The included breakfast was adequate, and the outside dining during the day was lovely in the shade of the plaza's vegetation. Most of all, the staff was incredible. Quick to change a room to a quieter locale in the hotel, or offer travel assistance, I can't say enough nice things about their concern.

Guests beware! That same central location translates into a horrific noise level in the evening! Mariachi's, amplified Norteno bands, and revelers all vie for customers dining on the patios in front of this establishment. They all play at the same time, attempting to drown one another out with their individual tunes. If you're room is above this cacophony, you better be deaf or dead drunk. Groups of minstrels will park under windows in the alley behind the hotel around 11pm with their boisterous customers as well.

The property was very clean. The food was delicious, I like everything. Even the coffee that they have in the room was delicious.

I didn’t like that they had no parking space near by. It was horrible the walk with my suitcase. Like it was really bad.

The hotel is in the main jardin, the town square. You will find easy access to all the tours and activities from here. We booked our city tour and callejoneada from the hotel, the staff was super helpful.

The tapas bar next door has a lot of mariachis and norteño groups patrons will hire so the music is about loud until the bar closes around 2am. However, this comes with the location as you will literally be in the center of it all.

Beautiful hotel full of art.Very clean. Location was perfect. Food and staff were amazing.

Too many musicians playing all different music at night on the promenade. Patio dining was so loud.
