The location is amazing. You are right at the footstep of the historical centre of Montone with everything (including two Michelin star restaurants, pharmacy, various cafes, fruit and veg shop, post office, local piazzas etc.) within a few minutes walk. The property offers a spa experience with a steam room and a traditional sauna, which my husband and I enjoyed. There is a big pool with a lovely terrace overlooking the valley and magnificent mountains in the distance. There is an electric vehicle charging station in the parking lot (which was great for us since we chose to rent an electric car). The coffee and the apericena at the hotel bar were excellent too! But the most amazing thing about Hotel Fortebraccio is their staff. We could not thank them enough for being so kind, generous and accommodating. On the night of our scheduled arrival to Montone, my husband and I were stranded in the nearby town in the dark and in the rain because our newly rented vehicle ran out of charge and the local autostrada’s exit to Montone was closed. A local shop owner called the hotel for us and they sent Leonardo to pick us up. Not only did Leonardo save us and safely bring us to the hotel that night, he cycled to our car the next morning and picked it up and charged it. That’s the service that goes above and beyond any expectations! We feel like the hotel staff became our friends over the week and a half we spent there. Highly recommend Hotel Fortebraccio!

Everything was perfect. The only small improvement I would recommend would be including an iron in the hotel room or as a rental option (I had a lot of wrinkly clothes that needed ironing).

This was our second stay at Fortebraccio. This time we stayed with our seven year old daughter and opted for an apartment that had a large queen bed and a king single bed and a little kitchen. The kitchen was very handy as many of the restaurants were closed during the day given it’s off-season and so we could easily cook for ourselves. The view from the apartment was incredible! Everything is walking distance within Montone centro storico but also just a few minutes drive to Umbertide with its shops, supermarkets and the local markets. The staff at Fortebraccio were as friendly and helpful as ever and we enjoyed every day of our two-week stay with them.

This was not my first visit to Hotel Fortebraccio and, thus, evidently I was happy to return. The two staff members who looked after me (on checking in and out, and at breakfast) were lovely: friendly and welcoming. Obviously I am a foreigner but I can speak Italian; they were both very kind and patient with me - which I always appreciate. The room I requested was available - and scrupulously clean, as always. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of pastries, some hot food, juices and coffee available. Happy to stay there again; will be happy to return. Thank you.

It's the season for annoying beetles that just invade any indoor space (as I know from my house in Le Marche); I was desperate to have some fresh air - as opening the window or doors meant a fresh invasion; however, the air conditioner did not seem to work, no matter how hard I tried. I do realise I could have asked for help; however, I had already travelled 11 hours by the time I arrived and was just exhausted. Perhaps a check to ensure the air conditioner worked would be helpful.

The hotel is in a stunningly beautiful location. Our room had a balcony over-looking the surrounding hills and the swimming pool looks out on them too. The pool is a good size so you can have a proper swim. The hotel is just outside the walls of the pretty mountain village of Montone; the height means there is a nice breeze even during very hot weather. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

The hotel is located in a very atmospheric and beautiful village Montone. It has top views from the terrace. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the pillows too. The breakfast was very good, with eggs and yogurt, and granola. If you need vegetables, take with you)). The hotel has parking.

The floor in the shower was broken, and there were mosquitos and a spider web)). For me, it was not a problem but for my spouse, yes).

This was my third stay at Hotel Fortebraccio in Montone, and I had asked for a room with a view - as I know this beautiful little village very well and it is always a joy to return, even in the winter. I was given a lovely corner room on the second floor with views down to the valley and over some of the houses in the village. The room was scrupulously clean and well-appointed, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were crisp and clean. Heating very good. The staff - on both my arrival and departure - were very friendly and kind. I can speak Italian; however, they were happy to speak English to me. I cannot write about the breakfast or meals because I have never eaten there; I like to walk up to the village and have a cappuccino and cornetto in Caffe Aries in the square. However, other reviews give an account of the bar and restaurant. I will, happily, return.

Some of the carpet in the corridors is stained and old; however, I appreciate that it is not easy to rip up an entire floor of carpet after some guest has done something foolish. In any case, you are not sleeping in the corridor, so what is in the room matters and the rooms (all three) in which I have stayed more than compensate for areas of tatty carpet.

We love the location & the big parking lot. easy walk to the village. spectacular view of the valley from our on the little deck. Pool looked beautiful although we did not use it. Francesco, in the bar was an absolute delight. We loved having coffee in the morning in the breakfast room! Everyone was so delightful. We had a lovely time.

we are not fond of the Italian flat hard pancake pillows. LOL

This hotel is a very good location if the purpose of your trip is relaxation. The pool is amazing and the surroundings are quiet. Also, the rooms are very well soundproofed. We had the room on the second floor with access to the bis terrace, which had an amazing panoramic view. The airconditioning also works really well. We stayed over Ferragosto (15. August) and the property offered a fairly priced amazing lunch - we would recommend taking advantage of it in case you stay over this holiday: amazing food (with vegetarian option) Also the hotel was in general really well cleaned and tidy.

We would highly recommend to stay here. However, some little improvements here and there would make this property a “10”: - some shadow areas around the pool like some beach umbrella - sunbeds on the rooms with terrace on the second floor to also lay there - the breakfast was fine, but with some more thought and variety it would be amazing

Gorgeous location, spectacular views over the verdant Umbrian hills. We love the village of Montone, excellent restaurants - we would recommend them all (Erba Luna, Osteria Antico, Verziere and more expensive but worth it: Locanda/Tipico). Best if you have a car but lots of hiking trails if you don’t. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is continental style- bread / pastries, cheese and ham, boiled eggs and cereals. Rooms are comfortable, great night sleep on the mattresses and quiet. We had a premium room with a large terrace which we would recommend.

Some improvements could be made to update the rooms and improve the AC. There was no fruit at breakfast which would have been welcomed given Umbrian restaurant food leans heavily on meat, pasta and cheese.

We had the most wonderful week staying at Hotel Forte Braccio. We were in Italy for a friend's wedding and decided to make a relaxing week away of it. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a gorgeous wrap around balcony with the most spectacular views of the Italian mountains! The pool was fabulous and most days we had it virtually to ourselves. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was so delicious and exceeded our expectations so much that after eating there on the first night we decided we couldn't do better as it was so good! so ate there almost every night, rather than going out as we had originally planned. The prices were very reasonable too. The staff at hotel forte braccio are fabulous! Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as possible. Federico is wonderful and we felt more like friends than just any old hotel guests. The chef always came out to check we were happy with our meals and have a chat and our waiter (I can't remember his name) was attentive and cheerful and so helpful. Honestly so impressed with the whole place and how it is run. We had the best time and will definitely return one day.

There was nothing we didn't like, it was fabulous. The only thing I would say is there is not alot to do in the immediate area, so a car is a must if you want to go out exploring. But if a relaxing break with beautiful poolside views, gorgeous food and a friendly welcoming atmosphere is what you want then it is perfect.
