Location and professionalism of the staff. The room was beautiful and the food on-site was tasty.

When I phoned to alert the staff my flight would be very delayed, the desk rep told me my room would be cancelled in a very confusing loop about arriving within 24 hours of check-in yet people waiting for me not to show at 3 pm. Finally, someone told the rep I would need to be checked in and pay for one night (out of my 4-night stay) which was fine with me! I suppose I was most surprised and disappointed that this wasn’t offered initially instead of making me feel as if my reservation would be easily cancelled. The solution made complete sense and gave me peace of mind in a situation I could not control.

An absolutely stunning hotel! The valet parking was very easy & the entire staff was super friendly, made me feel very at ease. Very conveniently located in downtown with just a short walk to local bars, restaurants & shops. Highly recommend Don Taco. The valet parking was nice & the valet staff was very respectful of my vehicle & fast to retrieve it. Did not get to eat at the restaurant located in the hotel but it looked nice. The room was small but very homey & clean. King size bed was extremely comfortable & shower was spacious. Had a nice mini bar located in the room as well as nice robes in the closet. My only real regret is that I couldn’t stay more than one night.

I believe I accidentally left my Stanley cup behind, completely my fault for sitting it down & not picking it back up, but though the hotel staff was friendly when I called to ask them if they’d seen it they promised a call back with an answer to if they’d seen it & I never received a call back. I don’t blame the staff at all for me losing my cup it just would have been nice if they could have returned my call to let me know something.

The hotel was lovely! Spectacular decor and we loved the rooftop bar! Linens and bed were very nice and comfy. Staff was friendly. Location was absolutely perfect!

I would rate this hotel 5 star, but there were a couple of things lacking and possibly just because it is a rather new hotel. First there were no ice machines, so you had to request ice at the desk. We did this and it was finally delivered about and hour and a half after requested and after my husband gave up and went to the bar himself to get some for our nightcap. I think they might have been experiencing staffing shortages. Second, there was no coffee or kettle in the room so you had to go down to the lobby each morning to get coffee. This is quite common and expected for European hotels, but not really in the US. If you are good with the issues mentioned, you will love Hotel Heron!

It’s a new hotel and very well located. The staff were all very nice but they need to work on some things. The phone in our room didn’t work so trying to get a bucket of ice was very difficult and we had to wait more than thirty minutes to an hour each day to receive one. The very kind gentleman at the front desk gave us his cell number in case we needed anything but he was often very busy. There are no coffeemakers in the rooms but they do serve free coffee in the lobby in the morning. For someone like me who likes a couple of cups before I have to get dressed and face the world, that was a hardship. Also, they don’t offer daily housekeeping, you have to request it, which I did not understand at first. If you have a car, you have to rely on an outsourced valet parking service which was somewhat unreliable. The hotel is very attractive and the staff are very kind so I hope they can work out the kinks and decide to offer a seamless guest experience. With a bar and a restaurant, it appears to be a full service hotel so I hope they can realize that vision.

The cutest hotel in old town Alexandria! It was super convenient, being walkable to anything you can imagine! The staff was so lovely and the rooms were absolutely charming! We took advantage of the rooftop bar and it was lovely with sweeping views of old town! The staff was so lovely and even gave us complimentary drinks! I’d highly recommend making hotel heron part of your stay!

I stayed here twice within a week on business travel. Hotel is modern, cool interior and comfy bed. The hotel did seem short staffed, my room was not cleaned on two separate occasions even though I specified this at check in. Location was close to King Street and about a 20 minute walk to the metro.

The property was really nice & exceeds expectations. Staff greeting really friendly & accommodating. Hotel is boutique hotel which we’re admitting is how we choose to spend quality leisure time due to traveling a lot otherwise.

Flexibility on roof top bar & meal options, but— you’re in Alexandria & there are tons of options.

An odd smell in the room and in the hallway. Amenities tax enforced without enough explanations, forcing one to spend it in the hotel's bar or restaurant. If not used, this tax is wasted. Breakfast too expensive for what it is ( small portions of quite poor quality).

I can’t remember the last time I stayed at a hotel and was absolutely satisfied with everything. This place was amazing and designed elegantly. The woman at the front desk was absolutely incredible and pleasant, such a delightful smile; what a perfect experience. We’ll be back for sure!

Hotel was brand new and clean. Had a smoke smell coming into the first room and was offered a new room to rectify that.

The see through bathroom doors are an odd design. Also, our experience with their restaurant the KILN was extremely unfortunate. Can’t fault the hotel though.
