You will be based in the Old Town which is beautiful alot of hills and old medieval stone Road if your drive there is private parking a 2 min walk away fro. The hotel which is €5 per day its worth it or you park at the bottom of the hill and carry your bags up the hotel have €2 maps which has ever place you need to go

Very clean fresh towel every day beautiful old Style Building breakfast is lovely watermelon and pastries and the veiw of the city and valley beautiful.it was a basic room so no great veiw but you can sit out on 2 terrace beautiful veiws and very peaceful

The owner of this property has done an exceptional job on restoring it to its former glory. Aleksander and his wife are hands on proud owner. They welcome us every morning to a luscious breakfast on one of Berat’s most picturesque Terrace. Definitely a must stay in Berat!❤️

The hotel has the best location in Berat, right below the castle, you can easily walk to every tourist attraction within 15 minutes. The hotel is a completely renovated building, but following the same plans as the old building at that site and using all the original materials. The rooms are impeccable, the outdoor spaces are wonderful, especially the breakfast terrace. Our host was attentive and helpful and the breakfast is great. Highly recommended.

As a warning, to reach the hotel you have to walk down a narrow alley and up cobbled stairs, you can't drive to the door, and your luggage wheels won't work. You have to park down the street (our host helped us with the luggage). Due to the nature of the town, built on a hill with narrow alleys, some of the rooms are a little dark.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. I went with my friend, they upgraded our room without extra charges. They prepare an amazing breakfast and everything is fresh from their own field. The view is extraordinary from the terrace. It's very cozy, you'll feel like you're home. The location is nice as well, you can go up to the castle or down to the center from there. They also drove us to Saranadë after checking out. They charged us almost as much as a taxi would with the added bonus of them taking us from the costal line road. They also stopped whenever I got dizzy and let us take pictures in all the wonderful spots in Vlorë.

If I had to pick a thing, I would say don't buy things there. You can look for more stores in Berat for homemade products.

We highly recommend this accomodation. I don’t think you could do any better than this in Berat. The family that own this place are so welcoming, generous, helpful with planning your activities and go above and beyond. There are 2 beautiful terraces we lounged on to admire the stunning view over Berat. It’s easy to walk to all restaurants, cafes, supermarkets & even the castle. The breakfasts were on the rooftop terrace with beautiful music & food straight from their garden. They also had a cute dog Kiko that loves the guests and greets them. The attention to detail was shown with clean rooms and room cleaned. Communication was exceptional. The villa itself is incredibly beautiful and well kept for. Highly recommend listening to Aleksander himself talk about the history of the villa and restoration renovation.

You couldn’t ask for a more wonderful guest house while visiting the quaint town of Berat. Nestled into the mountainside of the old town, this rebuilt historic home is everything you need to experience the wonder of this UNESCO World Heritage town. Built with stone from the local mountain and solid wood everything about this guest house has been considered. Well appointed rooms with lovely clean bathrooms and great water pressure. The property is filled with beautiful flowers, gardens and trees. You really do feel tucked away. Our host Aleksander is so kind, welcoming and generous. He helped us with taxi’s, wines on the upstairs terrace, an extra pancake for our daughter to take on our walk to the castle and restaurant recommendations. We cannot recommend this guest house enough! Enjoy it and the wonderful hospitality!

Everything! The owner and his family were so friendly and kind! Their dog was exceptional ♥️ So much history, thought and attention is put into this hotel. We wish we could’ve stayed longer! The breakfast was the best I had in my 12 days of Albania! All fresh and home grown food 🍋 Really kind people, stunning views and we just switched off and felt so relaxed once we got there!

Not a dislike but just a heads up it’s on top of a hill so I wouldn’t recommend big luggage’s like we had as it’s a bit of a heavy lift going up steps to the hotel. But with hills comes phenomenal views so it’s all worth it!

Our stay at Vila Aleksander was exceptional. Our room was beautiful with lots of charm and good AC. The terrace view was unreal and it was so lovely to enjoy for breakfast and in the evenings after our day. Aleksander also went above and beyond, giving us recommendations and helping us connect with tours and a driver. We also got to fall in love with their sweet castle doggo Kiko, who was such a sweetheart.

Unfortunately there is not great public transport nearby but that is of no fault of Aleksander and the Vila.

This is a very quaint and lovely home style bread and breakfast location. Aleksander who runs this place with his family is an amazing host, ever gracious and eager to help and provide information. The hotel sits just at the start of the hill path up to Berat Castle which is very convenient. Furthermore, the remainder of the core tourist sights are just a 10 minute walk down and around the hill. High recommend Friendly House for Dinner. The room was comfortable, and clean. Breakfast which was very good and included cheese, eggs, coffee, pancakes along with fruits and vegies was prepared fresh and is served right on their balcony which gives an immaculate view of the city with lovely sunrise, sunset photo ops. We even booked our taxi to Dhermi through Aleksander which was very convenient.

Not that I did not like any aspect of the room itself. If you are expecting Hotel modern furnishing please manage your expectations as this is a lovely rustic appeal style stay. My only real gripe was the rooster who was quite loud during the early hours of the night.
