The room and ensuite was immaculately clean and a good size, a large shared living area with ample facilities if you want to self cater. Breakfast made by Mandy was very nice and as big or as small as you like with hot and cold options and local produce. Super cute wooden hot tub, recommend going in at night and looking up at the stars. The location was great for the wineries and backs onto a number of cycle paths which run along the river, awesome scenery as you ride, and onsite bike hire. Super friendly people who go out of their way to ensure you get the most out of your stay.

Would struggle to find fault, even the rain didn’t stop us having a great time!

We were staying in a room in the main house and had access to a shared lounge and kitchen, although we were the only ones there the night we were staying. We rented bikes from Mandy so we could cycle around the vineyards and when we got back we had a lovely swim in the outdoor pool and a soak in the hot tub with lovely views of the mountains. Breakfast was really nice with cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, croissants and poached eggs on toast. Antares is a great location for seeing the vineyards without having to drive.

Firstly, Mandy is amazing! She picked us up from the station and drove us to Antares. We really enjoyed the Stars and Vines pod and the gorgeous view right next to the vines.Every detail has been thought about for comfort with care. Bikes to ride to the river, vineyards or to dinner and back, and heaps of local knowledge about the vineyards and the area. The welcome bottle of bubbles and chocolates for our anniversary, to a wonderful breakfast laid out for us every morning, by the fabulous Mandy. We enjoyed the refreshing swims in the pool and also the gorgeous Wairau River nearby. Had a wonderful, relaxing fun weekend in 28-30 degree heat (January) and will be etched in our memories forever.

Possibly the eco toilet as we werent expecting that, but it wasnt a big issue for us, and more of a point of difference!

The location was superb, set in a beautiful garden with a variety of trees, shrubs and flowers and the sound of many different birds. The property is surrounded by vineyards and has its' own orchard of citrus trees and olives. There was also a pool and hot tub for our use. We were provided with everything we needed to make our own breakfast, with home made fruit salad and jams put in the fridge for us; and fresh baked croissants brought to us at the time of our choice. If we'd been there longer we could have used the barbeque provided for our exclusive use.

We had chosen to stay in a glamping pod, which was great. However, the eco-loo in an adjacent building had no hand-washing facilities and the adjacent bathroom is not yet complete - we had exclusive use of a bathroom in the B&B property a short walk away, but I wouldn't have wanted to walk there in the middle of the night. I'm sure the bathroom adjacent to the pod will be complete soon, but this is a minor disadvantage at the moment, even if glamping!

The location was as good as it could get in relation to exploring the area, right in the middle of the wineries. It was extremely comfortable and the hosts were wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful property with us.

If the weather was bad there may have not been enough space inside, however as the weather was kind to us this was not a concern.

So serene !! The bird song in the mornings and evening when sitting in the jacuzzi. The pool overlooking the vineyards. The gardens. Just so serene. The bedrooms and common areas were very well equipped with absolutely everything you’d need and more. Mandy was a dream host, very communicative and helpful. We’ll be coming back !

Everything was perfect.

Mandy and Patrick are super hosts and make you feel like being home there. We got the double rooms with own kitchen and living room, which was a lot of space, well equiped, clean and a nice style. Vineyards were super easy to reach by the bikes and the view around was also fantastic, even at night with moon and stars. We liked the pool very much and the self made olive oil was one of the nice and delicious details. We will go there again, if we come back to NZL.

Mandy and Patrick were fantastic hosts and made us feel so welcome. The pod was nice and cosy (it was lovely having such a large bed) and the sunset was stunning. Mandy’s breakfast was lovely, including homemade jam and marmalade, and it was great to be able to hire bikes to explore the vineyards.

Shower took a little while to warm up at times

The grounds were beautiful and the location was stunning.

The two rooms in the main house shared a very thin wall and both the beds in each room were adjacent to this wall. You could hear the people in the other room clearly and they were not loud, so that felt a bit uncomfortable. The bed in the room was also too soft.

Mandy and Patrick are fantastic hosts with nothing being too much trouble. We felt so well looked after. Great location to explore the wineries, even on bike as they are right on the bike trail. Walking distance to a great restaurant. Quiet. Relaxing. Comfortable. Facilities great, a real home away from home. Lovely breakfast including cooked eggs and sides. Comfortable beds and good size rooms. Interesting grounds to wander and enjoy. Lots of outdoor sitting areas.

Nothing really. Could have had a sitting chair in the bedroom to relax in private, but we could easily have brought one in.
