The place exceeded my expectations. The outside shower and toilet were a hit! Despite going in winter we experienced exceptionally good weather and had an outside shower which was totally a great experience. We stayed one night but could easily have stayed a few more nights.

The only let down was that the GPS had us driving around past the main gate turning up a road with worker accommodation where a group was busy making a bonfire. Then it took us around the groves and got us completely lost. We strongly recommend that you send a location pin from reception to all Guest and recommend that they use that.

We stayed two nights in a lovely and very comfortable chalet. Beautiful property, comfortable beds and lovely chalet with microwave, kettle, fridge, a lovely outdoor shower (in addition to indoor shower and bath tub), and generous stoop. Small gym, decent breakfast, lots of various lounge and terrace spaces throughout the property. Very quiet and relaxing and close to Addo Elephant Park.

Wifi wasn't the greatest, but are you coming all this way for the wifi? Don't expect much in terms of dinner options. A bit of slough to get to when wet and muddy as it is a gravel road for several kilometers, but still very manageable for a two-wheel drive sedan car. Not super great value for money, but we felt it was well worth the 'extra cost' as we wanted an option with separate beds and were booking last minute over the April holidays to visit the park. Very helpful manager with up-to-date road closures and conditions. I would happily stay here again.

We had a lovely stay ‘in the bush’. It feels like you’re away from it all. We were two families staying in a dungeon beetle room and two of the bush cabins. The showers at the bush cabins are outside and one of the best hot showers I’ve ever had. Breakfast was good. Aircon in the dung beetle room was a bonus as it can get very hot in Addo. The location is close to the park - we could even hear lions at night! - and to good restaurants. The staff was amazing and informative. All in all a great stay!

There was no water in the pool/pond, however there has been droughts in the area and we were aware of it.

I stayed in Bush Cabin 1. I loved everything about it! The view was incredible, especially at sunset. The walkways between the parking, the accommodation, the pool, and the dining room/lounge are bordered by spekboom and shrubbery, so it feels like you're walking through a maze. The cabin is well equipped. The bed was comfortable. There's a mosquito net and a huge fan (it is a noisy fan, though, so I'm glad I didn't have to use it). The guest farm is so quiet at night, I heard was the fiery-necked nightjar (naguil) and a faraway rooster. One morning, a yellow mongoose visited the wooden deck in front of my cabin! The outdoor kitchen is well equipped. All it was missing was a dishcloth for drying the dishes. Now, this is where my review becomes subjective. The shower, washbasin, and toilet are outside - as in, I had to walk along a boardwalk to the bathroom surrounded by a rustic wooden screen and thickets of spekboom with no roof except a little thatch dome above the toilet. I was intrigued, hahaha, and decided to be brave, but I believe people have opted out of staying in the bush cabins because of the rustic bathrooms. That being said, I was there during mild weather, in early May. It wasn't too cold and it wasn't raining. My review would be very different if the weather was lousy, and that's the honest truth. If an outdoor bathroom is not your idea of fun, then still book at Addo Dung Beetle Guest Farm, because the place is INCREDIBLE! But choose a different type of accommodation. My family stayed in one of the Dung Beetle Cottages and they were very happy with the place. The Dung Beetle Cottages include breakfast because they are not self-catering. The service was great and the breakfast was delicious. Henry and the two lovely ladies in the kitchen were friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

This has nothing to do with Addo Dung Beetle Guest Farm, but I need to mention that Google Maps struggled to find this place.

Really gorgeous location with our lodge being in the forest basically. Had everything we needed. Staff were friendly, would definitely stay here again! Super close to Addo and surrounded by an orange farm you can walk through. We went for a jog around and it was very pretty at sunset.

This wasn’t a problem for us and was expected but the kitchen, shower, and toilet are outside which is important to note especially as it was winter! But the bedroom was warm enough at nighttime with layers on. No WiFi in our room.

The property was nice and rustic with great views across the surroundings. The view from our room was great!

The toilet situation is uncomfortable, but not a deal breaker. In one room we had with two double beds, there was a toilet in the same room separated by only a curtain. If you are sharing this room with friends, I would make sure you’re all very comfortable with each other. The other room had a toilet outside with a very low roof above it. This made getting up to use the toilet at night a bit of an obstacle course.

It was a great pleasure to stay at addo dung beetle guest farm. We were in a bush cabin. Its cute and we loved it:) Outside shower and toilet was fun. The staff was so kind and we loved the food they prepared. We also went on a safari and just booked it there and they arranged everything, was really nice time at addo elephant park. We also drove threw the park with our rental car, that was fun too:)

Around the bed is not much space, bit it was enough to just put your luggage. For us it was perfectly fine, but uf you like more space maybe book not a bush cabin.

Lovely place, staff was incredible and put a lot of effort in. We loved the outside shower and the privacy of that. Location to Addo was perfect! We also had dinner and breakfast on site which was both delicious and the value for money was incredible.

We were in bush cabin 3 which was clean we just didn't love the outside toilet and sink at night and the roof over toilet was also very low. The long walk to the cabin was slightly strenuous with our luggage.

The beds and pillows are super comfortable. The open air bathroom is an unforgettable experience, in a good way. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They let us check in early. There are two smalls pools, although we didn't use these, they looked great. We enjoyed breakfast. We really loved the privacy and the view. We even saw a mongoose here, twice! Could have very happily stayed here longer.

Nothing to dislike.

We stayed here as a family group of 8 adults and 2 children (80yrs to 6yrs) and everyone was very impressed with everything from the beautiful valley views to the generous portion sizes of breakfasts and dinner, from the swimming areas to the maze that needed to be negotiated between our cabins/ suites and the novelty of outside showers and toilets in the rustic cabins. Henry and Davie went out of their way to help us with everything including arranging our own braai and making suggestions of things to do in the area. Very easy 5-10min drive to Addo Elephant Park. We'll definitely be back again.
