Grand, historic building in central old town. The staff were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make you feel at home. The manager even came to my breakfast table to wish me farewell. The breakfast is good. A decent bar/restaurant across the road, Bar Leo, was handy.
It’s close to a very busy street but that bothered me very little, and I hate noise. The city is rather scruffy with a lot of decaying, neglected formerly attractive buildings, sadly. No fault of the hotel which was a haven of repose.

This wonderful hotel has the charm of an Italian palace and is located in the heart of historic Asuncion. I stayed here for a week and the hotel is in walking distance from great restaurants, shops and the centre. The staff and management are amazing friendly people with a true spirit of hospitality. They go above and beyond my expectations. Very clean rooms with all comfort and we even had a private terrace on the top floor of the hotel! Ideal for chilling and relaxing after a city tour. Also the breakfast was a nice highlight of the day. I warmly recommend this “pearl” to anyone! Such a great refreshment from the boring modern chain hotels! Thank you for our wonderful stay with you and we will come back !👍😀💯
Everything was perfect!

The staff was phenomenal, helping us with all our needs, serving us those marvelous breakfasts, that personal touch of the scrambled eggs and the toasted sandwiches. They were available to make recommendations and guide us. This was our first stop in Paraguay and it remains one of my fondest memories, our first bit of discoveries. Our room was spacious, and the balcony allowed us to watch the busy street below. The hotel itself was so open and like the "palace" of the name. Had we not spent so much time outside exploring, we would have enjoyed the little bar and the lounge, I'm sure. As for location, it was a convenient walk to the center of the city and the Senatur office. Thank you to all the staff who were always there to assist us.

The hotel is beautiful inside and out and has been tastefully updated with a wonderful light breakfast room , huge stylish guest lounge and lovely hallways. It felt more 4 stars than 3 stars to me. My room had two doors - the room and then the bedroom. I loved it- this is always my favourite feature. You don't hear the other guests. The in-room television had BBC and CNN in English and ESPN to catch up on the english Premier League and other sports. Scrambled eggs were cooked freshly for breakfast. All the staff I met were super polite, friendly, helpful and charming. I asked for help with laundry and got all my clothes beautifully washed, pressed and ironed. Excellent value for money
As in many places in Central/ South America it is wise to bring ear plugs to block out traffic noise

I liked this hotel a lot. It was historic and full of character and well located to get around the old town (which isn't very big). We had a top floor room which was much larger than I expected and was stylish with a very comfy bed and a nice modern bathroom. The road at the front of the hotel was quite a busy one in the mornings but our room was well insulated from any noise and we slept really well. The owner had been really good to us as we were arriving in the early hours of the morning so she had emailed me to tell me that the hotel reception was prepared for us and she also arranged a taxi from the airport. The whole place was well kept and well managed and was very clean. All the staff were very cheerful and friendly and although few spoke English my basic Spanish got us through fine. Breakfast was okay but hadn't a great deal of choice. All in all this was a lovely hotel and was fantastic value.
Complementary bottles of water in the bedroom would have been a nice touch.

Lovely old building, really helpful and friendly staff. Very comfortable rooms. Very little English spoken but with our broken Spanish and the use of phone translation we got by fine. They were so helpful with taxis and without asking offered us the rooms for a couple of extra hours on check out day, which considering the heat (38°c) was really kind. Breakfast is a little sparse but freshly cooked eggs and toasties make up for that. Location is very handy for various sites. Would stay again.
Nothing much!

Lovely historic hotel that has been tastefully renovated. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished, spotlessly clean and tidy. Well located in the heart of the city, the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. When there was a problem with the AC, they immediately moved me to another room. While the usual big city precautions apply, this is a safe city to walk around both day and night. I was here on my own for five nights and never had any issues.
Wifi is patchy in some parts of the hotel, so if good wifi is critical, mention that when checking in.

Classical nineteenth century mansion. Being restored to its former glory. Our host Alicia was very pleasant and friendly. Made very welcome on arrival at reception, staff leader, Alberto, was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and very animated in his amiable hospitality style, definitely a treasure of our stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable and room service was excellent. Excellent breakfast provided. Very safe and secure accommodation, and would definitely stay at the “Palace” again if visiting Asuncion, Paraguay. Across the street is Bar Leo, providing excellent authentic meals and low priced refreshments. Very convenient, popular and safe.
Could not fault our three night stay. Excellent value for money.

We loved this hotel! It is way nicer than the pictures led us to believe. It is one of the historical registered buildings in the city (an old palace!). Our room was huge with a large balcony and views almost to the river. The shower worked well, and the front desk staff was so kind. There is a garage with limited parking, so contact them in advance if you need that. The location is great, less than a 10 minute walk to the main plaza.
The WiFi in our room wad touch and go though it worked well in the lobby.

Beautiful old building in an excellent location for sight-seeing. Room very clean, furnishings straightforward but comfortable. Best thing was the staff! Excellent team, everyone warm, welcoming, eager to help and make sure our stay was perfect. Actually we noticed people in Paraguay are generally extremely helpful and kind, and so was the case in our hotel as well.
Nothing - maybe some extraction fans from the toilets but nothing serious really - its an old building, thats part of the charm :)
