We loved staying here. Eric was so welcoming and helpful and the apartment was so cosy- we loved staying in an authentic canal house. There was a little balcony to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the world go by. It was also very central but still peaceful at night.

We loved everything but, as others have said, be aware that the apartment is on the 3rd and 4th floor up very narrow and steep stairs so I wouldn’t recommend it if you have mobility issues or heavy/bulky luggage.

What a wonderful place to stay! Eric was such an amazing host, very helpful, knowledgeable & ready + eager to help with recommendations, reservations and any questions we had about the area. The space itself was very clean and so homey and comfortable which is exactly what we were looking for. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The balcony was such an added bonus, right over the canal - just stunning!! The only thing I will say (& this is not at all a complaint just a warning) If you are old or handicap, please be warned about the stairs they are very very steep and skinny.

Nothing, it was perfect!

What a beautiful and charming apartment and the location was fantastic! The balcony was amazing with a view of the canals that would be hard to beat. We had a lovely stay here, Eric was so welcoming and gave us some great tips for things to do. The apartment had everything we needed and more, we were sad to leave and can’t wait to go back!

Nothing, it was perfect!

What a lovely property - we felt like a local and wished we could stay longer. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Eric was a very kind and friendly host. Great location on the Prinsengracht. Would love to stay here again.

There is nothing to say….stairs are steep and narrow as others have mentioned but this is Amsterdam. For us, it made it feel authentic!

This is a very comfortable apartment, which has everything. The building dates back to the 1600s, beautiful historic site, and perfect location in quite canal street. Eric, the owner, gives you a friendly welcome and offers you good advice and information. Very, very good for everything.

Can't really think of anything I didn't like

The apartment is really stunning with a great location, close to public transportation and within walking distance of a lot of things, like cafes, shops, restaurants and grocery stores. the kitchen is well equipped and Eric genorously had stocked it with snacks and drinks for us. He was really accommodating and flexible, and offered to store our luggage for us since we had a flight in the evening. The apartment itself was so beautifully decorated, felt like staying in a real home, and it was so nice to have a relaxing place to come back to even though we spent most our time exploring the city. The bed is comfortable, bathroom is big and the bathtub is a really nice touch. We loved!!! the view of the canal from the big windows in both the living room and bedroom.

The apartment doesn’t have a door or separate entrance, only a staircase, so if you are weird about privacy it might bother you. It did not bother us at all. The stairs up to the apartment and to the bedroom from the living area are really steep. I thought people in the reviews here were exaggerating but they really are steep, which is not a big issue for young people like us, but I imagine if you were older or had trouble with your legs or back it would be hard to get up and down as they are really narrow and steep. But for us it was okay!

Wonderful attention to detail. Every comfort has been thoughtfully provided with lots of special touches. Comfortable bed, great shower and large bath. Delightful owner greeted us and showed us around his stunning canal house. View of the canal is perfect.

Nothing. We would stay here again and again! Just lovely!

Excellent location. Easy to get a number 2 or 12 tram from Central station to property. 8 minutes walk to Van Gogh & Rijks museums. Lovely locals pub over the bridge of canal.. also great local pub/bistro 3 minutes away from the property. Really super central, quiet, clean and comfortable. Host is great. Lots of bathroom toiletries. Welcome basket was a treat.

Perfect location, comfortable, authentic and homely, beautifully decorated we were surrounded by Wedgwood and antiques. Also a wonderful host who was helpful logging us in to his own Netflix.

Be aware of tight, steep stairs up to the bedroom. This was no problem for us. The bedroom was gorgeous.

Brilliant location opposite a good bar and an even better Restaurant. It’s exactly as per the pictures and Eric is a wonderful host. Peaceful as well.

The stairs didn’t bother us but looks others have noted, this is a typical Amsterdam narrow house so if you have bad knees or aren’t comfortable on very steep or narrow stairs, give this a miss.
