A 300 year old building with a stylish modern design creates a postmodern experience with Dutch aesthetics. Extremely friendly people, a great, peaceful central location with convenient access to anywhere make this accommodation the best I have visited in Amsterdam. And will be returning back for sure !

Loved everything

The decoration, and surely the location of the property are perfect.

The only thing i didn’t like are the stairs that are steep, but it wasn’t a big problem cause you just have a bar to hold on to it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Tim was super accommodating and the room was great. We loved the mezzanine bed (although beware if you’re tall as you will be ducking a lot!) the jacuzzi bath and mood lighting was a lovely touch. It was also in a great location, just off a main square and easy to get around. We would certainly stay again.

Due to the location there was an evening where it was quite noisy outside. There was also a cigarette smoke smell in the bathroom a couple of times, obviously drifting up from the lower floors but nothing that would make us hesitate to return.

My girlfriend stumbled across the pictures on booking and we had to see it. The room is so charming and cozy. Our host, Tim, was the best and really helped us feel comfortable with the area and made us feel welcomed in the room. The location is so close to the night life and we were able to walk everywhere. We also couldn’t get enough of the in room hot tub and sleeping in the loft was like being a kid again.

This location could be a blessing or curse depending on what you’re looking for. The nightlife is not quiet. With that said, we always slept great.

The location was fantastic, especially for the different activities we had booked. The room was designed in a really nice and unique way, spa tub was certainly a highlight. Tim was very friendly and accommodating which made us feel comfortable too. The bed was comfortable too and the whole ladder up to sleep was a different but fun experience! I would stay here again 😊

With previous bookings, I’ve received check-in instructions 24hr prior to arriving to my accommodation, so it would’ve been helpful to have detailed information on the process as we didn’t really know what to do when we arrived, but we found our room at the top floor eventually. The room was designed in a great way, but in agreement with previous reviews I’ve seen - there could be some touch ups to improve quality and get this place to a 10. Some things are due to it being an old building, but the blinds / some other decor were a bit flimsy. Overall though, really enjoyed our stay thank you Tim.

We thought the decor was excellent, full of style and character. The bed was super comfy and we slept like babies. The WiFi was strong and reliable, which was a big plus! The location is brilliant, just 30 seconds from loads of bars and restaurants, and only about 15 minutes by tram to Centraal Station. Check-in was smooth. Tim was available on the phone after we scanned the QR code at the entrance. He gave us the room code and explained everything clearly. There are security cameras on the floor, which made it feel safe. However, in true Amsterdam style, the main front door was often left open, as was the entrance to Tim’s unit. This might be normal locally, but it’s worth being aware of if you’re concerned about security. You can find similar mentions in other reviews online, so it doesn’t seem to be a one-off. We really enjoyed our stay!

The stairs are quite steep, which is typical for Amsterdam properties. It wasn’t an issue for us, but it could be tricky for someone with large luggage or mobility concerns. Also, the main light switch in the living area was broken, which was a bit inconvenient.

Tim has created the perfect hideaway in the heart of Amsterdam. From the incredible tub and sauna, to the gorgeous art and lighting, The Enlightened House Luxury Suites was a highlight of my trip to Europe. Owner was incredible gracious and kind, leaving detailed instructions for all features and tips for the neighborhood. Location is primo.

I recently stayed in a wonderful room in Amsterdam, and I can't recommend it enough! The bath was absolutely amazing – spacious and perfect for a relaxing soak. The stairs are a little bit steep but me and my partner didn’t mind

We loved staying at the Enlightened House Luxury Suites. We found our room (top floor) was very unique and clean. The facilities and the location were great as well - we walked everywhere and we were very happy with the room.

Nothing we didn't like, but a towel refresh during our stay would have been great (we were offered but host must've forgot) and perhaps some coffee mugs for tea & coffee, as we just had water & wine glasses.
