The narrow staircase - it was a real adventure to get up to the room and down again. Pro Tip: No big suitcases or bage and don‘t drink. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room is as spacious as the staircase but fully functioning even with a coffee mashine.

The room was superficially clean, it could need a deep clean once in a while. It is really loud (from the streets), but you get earbuds as a convenience. There was no room for my bike - iIn a city full of cyclists there should be one, so it does not have to be on the street by itself.

The room was good value for money. It had all the facilities we needed for one night, a kettle would have been useful but not essential. The staff were friendly and helpful. The shower was good, the bed was comfortable and having a smart tv was a bonus.

Our room was on the high street which is quite loud, but ear plugs were provided and the location/ view was nice being on the street - so you can’t complaint. Our room was a bit dusty, in particular the fan had a lot of dust in it. I imagine a room that small can get dusty very easily. The rest of the room felt very clean.

The hotel was very clean, everything looked new, and the beds were comfy. The staff was very helpful, and the location was amazing. I will definitely stay here again.

As everybody said, the stairs were very steep and small. It is a bit hard to climb but it is very common in Amsterdam so hotel has nothing to do about it. Our room was in 3rd floor so carrying the luggage was hard so this should be considered while booking. The walls were a bit thin, sometimes we heard other guests conversations. But when I compare the pros and cons, pros are many more.

Very excellent and friendly staff. They were very helpful. My feet was injured and stairs towards our room on the 3rd floor was very scary for me. We ask to change rooms and next morning they moved us to first floor. Also, our key card didnt work and we couldnt get in to our room late at night. We called the emergency hotel phone number and the receptionist came to help us in 2minutes. Our street view from the room was amazing. Overall it was a great stay. Would def stay again when in Amsterdam.

Rooms are very small for 2 people. We didnt mind but some may dont like it. Light sleepers may not like the street sound also.

Great location. I had a courtyard facing room (beautiful view with trees!) and it was quiet at night. You can hear guests next to you, but this is common in older hotels. The bed was VERY comfortable and I was able to regulate temperature very well using the radiator or the window when needed. Plenty of towels provided for one person. I accidentally got locked out of my room during my visit late at night, but the night porter was incredibly helpful even at a late hour and very friendly. I felt very safe at this hotel as a female solo traveler. Prices are always high in the city center compared to room size, but this hotel was excellent. I would stay here again upon return.

The motion sensing light in my bathroom had a mind of its own. It would even sometimes turn on while I was in bed at night. I would have preferred a light switch.

The rooms were adequately sized, contrary to what had been written in the comments, for a hotel with a price-performance ratio that meets European standards. They looked just like they do in the photos. The cleanliness was quite good. The location of the hotel is excellent, with a tram passing right in front that goes to Centraal Station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although the check-in time was 3:00 PM, our room was ready when we arrived around 1:30 PM, for which we are grateful.

The stairs of the hotel were really narrow and steep. It requires serious caution even when you are not carrying a suitcase. There was no bottled water in the rooms; while the tap water is drinkable, guests who prefer bottled water should have at least one bottle provided daily as a standard. The check-out time is very early. I’ve never encountered a hotel anywhere in the world that has a check-out time of 10:30 AM. It should be extended to at least 12:00 PM. Since the reception does not operate after 5:00 PM, I was unable to reach anyone for the toothbrush I realized I had forgotten when I returned to the hotel at night. It's not very pleasant to have no one available during the night.

My 5th time in Amsterdam. The location is great! Small rooms, but as one person or a couple for a few days, it's fine. We had a room on the ground floor, so we didn't have to experience the stairs (which are very typical for Amsterdam, not just this hotel). But we saw several people struggle with their huge suit cases up the stairs. Good lesson for anyone who plans to visit Amsterdam. Pack lightly; you'll enjoy the trip so much more. We never bring more than a backpack.

We paid for the late checkout, but it didn't stop the cleaning lady from coming and knocking on our door (and even opening it). Coordination between them could've been better. If you are a light sleeper, then the noise from the hallway (people walking in and out) might bother you. But for us? No issues, especially after a night out 😊

The room was good - I expected something less but I loved the big windows (standard in Europe, I guess) The front desk person was super helpful - she even carried my smaller bag upstairs which I really appreciated. She also gave me tips where to eat which was really nice. I used to work for hospitality so I can easily appreciate genuine service.

Don't come back drunk or carrying wheeled luggage, especially if you are staying in a very high room—the stairs are really steep.

Great location, easy check in and checkout, comfortable bed, basic toiletries, friendly staff.

Very narrow and dangerous staircase to the upper floors. Going up is fine, but going down requires a lot of attention and carefulness. Extremely small rooms with no shelves or hangers to put your clothes. Basically, it’s good for 1-2 night sleep when you don’t have to spend much time in the hotel. Just take a shower and go to sleep. There is a coffee machine in the room, which didn’t work. No tea.

Amazing rooms, exactly as seen in pictures with everything you need. Bonus points for the awesome view of the street, really gave my stay a proper Amsterdam vibe. The staff were incredible polite and even helped me carry my bags up the stairs. Lifesavers, give them a raise!

The stairs in the main building are quite steep. Not a problem but older travelers or those with mobility impairments should maybe request a ground floor room?
