I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Family Kooyk! The location was perfect – close to everything, and the area felt safe and welcoming. The owners, a lovely couple, were incredibly friendly and treated me with such warmth and hospitality, making me feel right at home. The bed was comfortable, and the room wasn’t too noisy, ensuring a good night's rest. The 397 bus from the airport drops you just a few minutes away, which was super convenient. You can easily use your debit card to tag on and off the bus. Overall, the location, value for money, and the helpful hosts made my experience exceptional. Highly recommend!

Excellent placement, we were walking all our trip and had nice things to see due to an amazing location this hotel has. The room was on a floor with other rooms, shared bathroom and shared showers. Showers are in a separate area near toilet. A sink and a hairdryer are inside room. Connected to public transportation nearby, shop opening at 7 and coffee shop right next to the nearest intersection. Hotel ia clean! Please be minded you are looking at a one star hotel that has hairdryer and cleaning services in room daily! Saw a lot of reviews saying it’s not clean, but please consider that the mess is done by the guests and their personality. If the toilet had a questionable state at 11 pm, then at 7 am was completely different. Personally, i will come for sure again in Amsterdam, booking the same place.

The toilet is pretty small, better book here a room with toilet included if you need your space. The bedding had 2 mattresses that occasionally gets separated and creates a hole in the bed. If you are the cuddly type of couple, this might be a small inconvenience.

The room is convenient for solo travelers like myself, it's small but it does the job. The bathroom is located outside the room, so you must remember to keep the key with you all the time so you don't lock yourself out, the bathroom was clean everytime I used it which is great. The staff are exceptionally nice and respectful, the Irish lady was super sweet and nice (sorry, I didn't catch her name), same goes for the other lady, I would definitely book again. I was amazed by the convenience of the location, it's literally in the middle of the action if you are going for leisure, highly recommended.

The stairs are a bit too steep so if you have big luggage, you better prepare yourself for a workout. The bathroom is not very convenient since it's located outside the room, but I guess this is how things are in most hotels in Ams as far as I understood. Still wasn't a bad experience with the bathroom, but definitely would have loved it more if it was located in the room instead. There was some noise coming from next buildings but I guess it was a wild week because the King's day celebrations so it was okay.

The room was comfortable, had a private bathroom and shower. The room had a working mini fridge. It was clean along with the bed sheets. the staff was great and friendly, had recommendations on what to see and where to eat. The view through the window was wonderful too with a great location, straight in the middle between the city center and the more popular museums, such as the Van Gogh museum.

The room had a broken pipe along the ceiling which eas fripping water on the carpet. otherwise, it was great

The location is amazing, there are a lot of bars, clubs, restaurants, shops, canal cruise points, bike rentals etc. The stuff is amazing! They are very friendly and welcoming.They helped us a lot about storing our luggages before check-in and after check-out. The room was so clean and big, it had a nice balcony. Shared toilet and shower were always clean and smelling good. Overall, I’d definitely stay in this property in this property again in the future.

There is nothing I didn’t like about this property. I’m very satisfied with my stay.

The location is absolutely fantastic, right on the edge of a canal with boat hires and tours at the front door! Not to mention that it is directly in the centre of a very touristy area. The rooms were made daily to a high standard. There is a communal garden and balcony hidden from the street which is ideal early in the morning, and not to mention that the staff were very friendly! All in all I will definitely be going back!

Location is wonderful! There is a nice enclosed patio but we didn't use it. Had a room with big windows that we could open up for a breeze, when in the room, during the day. (We enjoyed chilling with those windows open and even caught a little bit of the football game!) Owner/front desk was super nice and let my friends store all their luggage 2 hours before check in.

Not enough lighting in the room (We ended up using natural light from opening the windows and curtains). Lumpy pillows.

Whether I was exploring the neighborhood or venturing further afield, I appreciated the hotel's proximity to everything the city has to offer. Breakfast was fantastic. The variety of options, from freshly baked breads to made-to-order omelets, ensured that there was something for every taste and preference. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional.

The breakfast was homemade and was very good and especially made for us. Mary, was very sweet and welcoming. She was the best person we met in Amsterdam and gave us recommendations of good places to go. The hotel is very central and very clean and if I go back to Amsterdam I will book my stay there again, for sure. Me and my kids loved it, mainly the lovely Mary and her husband 💕

Of course it is not so comfortable as a 4 or 5 stars hotel, but I looked and compared to others hotels with the 1 star and this one is a superior one indeed.

Was nicely surprised with this hotel. We were in room 15 which was large and the bed very comfortable. The owner was really lovely and helpful. We paid extra for breakfast on the 2nd and 3rd day and wish we had done this the first day too. Was an excellent breakfast of eggs (the best omelette I have ever had), yoghurt and fruit, croissants, bread/butter/jams etc, coffee (am sure you can have other drinks), orange juice. Much cheaper than breakfast at a surrounding cafe and the breakfast was made especially for us. Hotel was great location. 5 mins walk to bus 397 which goes direct to airport.
