Everything was perfect - the room, the view (kinda movie vibes) and service. I‘ve been 6 times in Amsterdam already, and without a doubt - this one was by far the best experience! Big thanks to the stuff of this hotel for managing everything to the finest!

A small, pleasant hotel right in the heart of Amsterdam, just around the corner from the Rijksmuseum. The hotel is run with a lot of love. The staff and owners are extremely polite. I was at an event in the Melkweg and the check-out time of 12 noon was very convenient. For a short stay of one or two nights, I would book this hotel again. Wonderful view of the canal. Restaurants, supermarkets, and several kiosks open 24/7 are all just around the corner. The price was okay for the location.

Here are a few tips for other travelers: 1. The stairs are very steep and there is no elevator. 2. The rooms are really small, so a longer stay is almost impossible because you can't really store your belongings anywhere. 3. The hotel only has single glazing, which means that noise from outside cannot really be kept out. 4. There is no air conditioning—I knew this beforehand and it is also stated in the description. 5. The hotel is located directly in the flight path of the airport. With the windows open, you feel like you are staying at an airport—a plane flies past every 2–3 minutes. Again, these are just tips for future guests; none of these points bothered me - and I would book the hotel again for a short trip!!!

The staff were so nice and made it feel more like a home than a hotel. They went out of their way to give us delicious vegan breakfast options every day, including vegan omelets and pancakes. The room has such a beautiful view overlooking the canal and the location is so convenient near a tram stop.

It was the smallest hotel room we’ve ever been in and was a little claustrophobic. There wasn’t much space to open your suitcase without it being in the way. There wasn’t much shower and toilet are in the same space so you need to use a squeegee to dry the floor so that you can use the toilet shortly after. You also need to put everything up on the rack above the toilet so that things don’t get wet. Your knees almost touch the wall when sitting on the toilet and you can’t bend forward at all.

Excellent location with friendly staff and owner who made us feel very welcome - this is a little gem and I would book to stay here again for any future trips to Amsterdam. Great size room - we were on the 3rd floor overlooking the garden and although all canal view rooms were taken when I booked we were pleased with the quietness for such a central spot. 6 flights of stairs to the 3rd floor so not for the faint hearted; that said our luggage was taken up for us (with the offer to bring it down also) despite the fact that we packed for 2 people in one case!!

I was looking forward to an egg chair in our room as i have one at home and they are so comfortable but these appear to no longer be in situ (swapped out for sofa's also in the pictures so certainly not a misrepresentation). That said we were very happy with the sofa and it probably saved us arguing about who got to sit in the egg chair (no doubt I'd have won that one though).

Location was perfect, walkable to everywhere!

Room was tiny and stairs were steep (we were on third floor and no elevators). Very hard climb with luggage.

Great location, felt safe and very accommodating and friendly staff. I messaged the property before arriving to check that we would safely leave our bags prior to check in, and after check out, which they could do. I mentioned it was my boyfriend’s birthday and the staff organised balloons to be in the room when we arrived which was very special! The hotel was fully booked but we didn’t hear a peep from any other guests and the only noises we heard were birds in the morning and which was lovely.

Not a dislike but a comment that the stairs are very steep, we were staying on the top floor and don’t have any issues with mobility so were absolutely fine but for anyone who may have trouble with stairs just bear this in mind. When we checked in the staff took our bags to our room which was very helpful and when we checked out they offered to carry them back down.

The location is incredible, you simply cannot do better as you're right in the middle of the "action", just a short walk to Leidseplein and also on the canals. The room was spacious and lovely; coffee included and shower pressure is fantastic. We had the room above the canals with an excellent view; it was superb.

The hotel runs very much verticially in the sense that there is no lift and the staircase is VERY sharp. If you are elderly or not strong on your legs, I would suggest finding a different option. If you're young, fit and energetic, you won't mind this.

Great value for money. Compact but has everything you need. The location is slightly out of the main part but we liked this as was quieter and nice to be away from the busy streets. Walkable distance. The host was very helpful, stored our bags and delivered them to the room in the first day as we were out exploring all day. Would recommend and stay again. The stairs are steep but it's Amsterdam so to be expected. The bed was extremely comfortable and black out blinds were a good touch.

We did have a noisy neighbour who decided to have a full blown conversation right outside the door, the walls are thin and rooms are very close as small hallway. But the noise of others can't be blamed on the owner.

Excellent location, easy to walk to all the main attractions, close to bus, tram & metro transport, shops & restaurants nearby, very friendly owner and staff, comfortable bed. Nice view overlooking the canal. The area is reasonably quiet.

Our particular room and bathroom was very small but other rooms are much larger. There was no air conditioning, and it was very hot, but the owner was kind enough to give us an extra fan (in addition to the one in the room) to keep us cool at night.

Friendly staff and very helpful in bringing up and down our luggage. It was extremely clean and well maintained. We loved that we had a view of the canal. We were able to get into our room immediately. And when we left on our second stay Oct 15 - 16,, we were able to sightsee a bit more with a late check-out. The staff were very helpful in assisting us around the city and in what sights to see.

The stairs were very steep but it was great that the staff brought up and down our luggage. Unfortunately, when booking the room online, we got a room that was very small on our first stay but got a bigger room the week after.
