A delightful, attractive property set in an excellent location outside the town of Gytheio and minutes from a decent clean beach which has a small bar/restaurant, loungers/chairs and sunshades. The hosts at The Olive Yard are warm, helpful, generous, friendly and endlessly willing. Rooms are a generous size with a generous shower room, all attractively presented. A small kitchenette/efficiency provides the option for self-catering. A generous supply of bottled water is replenished daily. The huge bed is comfortable with lovely Cocomat bed linen. Perfect. Towels are generously sized. Aircon - as one would expect - WiFi (free), TV. Breakfast is provided to each room at the chosen time, it comprises a very Greek selection and usually something to suit most tastes although it might not suit everybody! The private terrace, where we breakfasted, was well shaded and gave us plenty of private space with a view over the olive trees (this is a working olive farming Estate) Private car park with some shade. Pleasant communal outdoor seating areas (as well as private terraces/balconies) A real gem and an absolute pleasure to stay there.

Nothing to dislike - it is an absolute joy to stay there.

The location of the hotel (which I called the castle) is well chosen with a superb view of the bay and the city (Gytheio). The staff was kind and very helpful. Both the lady at the reception on the evening shift (Katerina) and the young lady on the day shift were helpful, giving us useful information about restaurants and the surroundings. Every day our towels were changed and our bed was made as we found it on the first day, although we somehow arranged it to look okay. The big bed (where you could get lost at night :)), the hard mattress, just the way we like it, and two rows of large and very comfortable pillows. The breakfast is diversified in the sense that you find a multitude of products in the lunch basket. For those with a bagpipe in the center it might seem poor, but only on the first day. Breakfast was brought to the room and served on the room's terrace (on the balcony). And last but not least, I liked that there was a parking lot large enough for all guests. In fact, the existence of parking was the first criterion in choosing this superb place. I want to thank Mrs. Katerina for the suggestion of the Saga restaurant, where Mr. Takis offered us an impeccable presentation of the products served. I also want to thank the other lady at the reception for the inspired suggestion of the place where I bought some great olives (Comerț cu Produse Agricole-Adrianos Chariton). If I made any mistakes in expression, please forgive my English, which is quite modest.

I didn't want to say anything so as not to spoil the pleasant atmosphere of this hotel. The only observation I'm making now, but which didn't bother us, is that when you used the water in the bathroom sink, there was probably a crack in the drain because a very small trickle of water would leak out, which we would stop with a few layers of paper towels, which we brought with us, but surely this small inconvenience will be corrected easily and quickly.

Beautifully decorated and wonderfully architected property. Tasteful choices all around and a very peaceful location! Balcony is a great comfort as it can cool off quickly in the evening :)

Included breakfast is so so..:). A breakfast place in the town can easily beat it with both the quality and flavors. Room is not well ventilated and our room had a loft which won't cool off at all even with air-conditioning rigged to the lowest temp setting. Having no ventilation can cause this and the space was essentially unusable. If a family has a kids, it's a bad idea to book the room with a loft. There is no air-conditioning either in the loft to fix the issue. We had a kid who loved the loft but couldn't use it due to the heat 24 hours :). Outside summer season, it can be a pleasant experience.

George at the reception was really helpful. Very comfortable mattress and large bed. We had an excellent night's sleep. Quiet location and very close to Gytheion.

Breakfast basket that was brought in the room, could have been better: maybe some youghurt and some cereals could be added. It is just OK as it is now. Tip: make sure you are given the correct room type. We were not given the correct room type, when we checked in. We were not informed about it. When we inquired about that, we were told that they gave us a different room type because the new room has a better view but we would get a refund because the new room is lower category that the original room booked. During check out, we got a refund indeed but it was handled in a very uncomfortable and unpleasant way (we had to ask for it).

The room was spacious and had a lovely patio area where we ate our breakfast. The breakfast was delivered to our room at an agreed time each morning. We had a little kitchenette area with fridge and hob. A kettle and coffee machine were provided. The hotel location was about a 3 minute drive out of Gytheio. Parking at the property was easily found. Katerina and Giorgos were lovely and friendly. We would definitely book again if we come back to the area, as there are plenty of sites to explore in the area.

The Wifi was a bit weak, but it was free and a 5g signal was available.

If there was a way to! We stayed over Christmas Eve with our dog Milo and absolutely loved the place. The room is pretty, well equipped and very clean, with a terrace with a nice view. Breakfast was prepared with love and very delicious. The staff was absolutely lovely, very friendly and helpful and also welcomed our dog with open arms. The surroundings are beautiful, even in Winter, we cant begin to imagine how beautiful the Garden must be in spring or summer. One of the best price-value ratios we've had so far on our trip and we immediately felt at home. Thank you again for making our stay this great! We will recommend you to everyone a lot !

Lovely gardens and luxury, spacious rooms

The breakfast was poor, with a selection of non healthy options. Would have been nice to have freshly squeezed orange juice, some yogurt with fruit or even some nice bread with local honey and cheese. Instead we were limited to toast with cheese and ham, egg with ham, and a small long life juice, shared between 2 people. We were told that most guests prefer this type of breakfast. This issue wouldn’t keep us from returning to the property, but next time we would make sure we brought our own breakfast, so that we can enjoy the superb rooms.

Very comfortable and clean with lovely outdoor areas to enjoy. Great staff. It's about a 7 minute walk to the beach. You definitely need a car. We enjoyed our stay.

We've had some great breakfasts on our travels and this one was just ok. It's nice to have it served on your little terrace but it's the only place we've had supermarket white bread and anything but fresh orange juice. This wouldn't be a problem for many and I suspect we've just been spoiled.

Cute, Cosy and Comfortable room Mani style with a small kitchen and amazing views. Easy check in and a good breakfast delivered to room at a time agreed, consisted of bread, cake, toasties with egg, fruit, yoghurt and Juice. Very nice relaxing areas in the grounds surrounded by Olive trees. We found some nice beaches in the area. A few minutes drive to to the lovely Gytheio town for restaurants and cafes.

Maybe some cushions for the Iron balcony chairs. Provide more than 1 coffee capsule pp with the breakfast and no Milk/Cream was provided.

You rarely walk into a hotel room that looks better than the photos, but this was the case at The Olive Yard. I loved everything about our stay, the room, the breakfast, the staff, the outside spaces, even the resident kittens and dog. I'll definitely return.

Very small improvements could make the experience even greater. e.g. having a sharper knife in the kitchenette to peel the fruit that came with breakfast, having a decent tea offering instead of just Lipton (which isn't really drinkable) or the option to have cold coffee in the summer.
