Lovely old pub, nice staff, rooms fantastic, plenty of parking. Nespresso machine in room was a nice and very welcome touch. Dinner was exceptional - really high quality and mostly sourced from their own farm nearby. Friends joined me for dinner and enjoyed the Sunday roasts very much. I have food intolerances which make eating out a minefield but the chef put together a fantastic meal for me - most appreciated.
Cooked breakfasts are currently only served Sat/Sun (contintental the rest of the week). Given how good dinner was i need to make sure and catch a weekend breakfast next time.

Gorgeous location, so quaint and comfortable with lots of nooks and crannies and a wonderful atmosphere . Food was lovely and staff so friendly, bedroom well equipped with a great shower.
A little more on the menu for people who don’t eat beef please if possible. We were also a little irritated by a lady coming round advertising the farmers market while we were eating.

Lovely quaint old building with lots of character. Staff went well out of their way during our stay. The lady in charge for b/fast even took us in her car to collect our car from the wedding venue we had been at the day before as no taxis available at the time. Breakfast was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for everything.
Didn’t find anything whilst on our overnight stay.

It is a lovely countryside Inn with a family touch. The staff are friendly and I felt like at home. I stayed also for the dinner which was also very nice. I am happy to recommend it and I will book it again in the future.
As I was leaving early there was a misunderstanding on the breakfast, so I ended up not having any. It would have been an even better experience if they had organised a take away breakfast box.

The Carden Arms is the perfect country pub getaway! Nestled in an idyllic setting, it offers a charming and peaceful stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the warm, inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The evening meal was delicious and the continental breakfast had a great selection of fresh options to start the day. This inn is a true gem.

The pub is a lovely old coaching inn with fittings and furnishings suiting its rural setting. It is also well loved by the local residents as well as catering for travellers. The food is all locally sourced, much of it being from the owner’s farm. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Nothing not to like!

Lovely old coaching inn with traditional bar areas and good beer selection. Great bed room furnished in keeping with the old inn - lots of antiques. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Very good food in the restaurant. Whole place had an excellent atmosphere and we would happily stay again.

Location was beautiful. The village absolutely delightful of a spring morning, air clean, hedgerows clear of litter and abounding with yellow daffodils and brilliant blue hyacinths. The weeping willows fresh green and cows and calves grazing in the misty morning. All viewed from the bedroom window. The Carden felt like an authentic English inn nestled in a Miss Maplesque setting. Staff were friendly and attentive. The decor felt reassuringly old and patinated. Not overdone but with a few stylish twists. The food was exceptional for the price. My steak and ale pie was homemade, wholesome and delicious. The rhubarb, apple and ginger crumble was short, crisp and with just the right amount of tang. There was no short cut with the custard and the homemade biscuit with a pleasingly hot cup of coffee rounded off a satisfying meal. The breakfast next morning, which I did not think I would need after the feast the night before, proved to be equally delicious. I opted for avocado on sourdough toast as I thought it might be a lighter start to the day. And indeed it was, avocado, which I usually find a tad 'soapy', was ripe and unctious and perfectly balanced by the little cherry tomatoes and the oozy poach egg which crowned the dish. Orange juice, which I had declined but which my husband allowed me to sample, proved to be fresh and ' not from concentrate'. The care and effort was appreciated and made for a memorable stay in Cheshire. Set us up royally for the journey to Holyhead and the ferry home. Pity I live hundreds of miles away...
In the bedroom, the door knob, while authentic brass, was very close to the lock thumbturn, making it slightly awkward to open the door. Didn't worry the wife!

Such a lovely atmosphere, warm beautifully furnished room with antique furniture. Very popular destination judging by how busy it was. I had very good homemade soup and a generous portion of good quality ice cream. Staff were pleasant. The publisher rooms were warm and cosy.
