The hotel itself is lovely and very well presented. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the rooms and restaurants were above expectation. The hotel has great potential and I would be happy to stay again.

The only thing that let the hotel down was the fact we were refused robes for the spa. This is something I have never come across before after staying in many spa hotels. We were told that our room wasn't superior and therefore didn't qualify for a robe. I know this is an extremely minor thing in the grand scheme of things but it definitely left a bad taste for us. My husband and I spent £240 on a room for one night which we wouldn't consider 'cheap' and it was our one night away from the children so we were looking forward to a true spa experience. Had it not been for this everything would have been perfect but unfortunately for the sake of washing two extra robes we were left to feel unwelcome.

Lovely stay at the Grosvenor pulford. Ate in palm court restaurant for evening meal which was so nice. Food, drinks and entertainment was spot on. Fella playing on a piano singing which made the environment so relaxed. Rooms lovely and cosy. Staff welcoming. Lovely spa and we booked a massage treatment. Breakfast was great too.

Spa treatment although was a lovely massage we did not get given a robe was told only get them with spa packages but i felt that we have paid for a treatment why not be given a robe. We had to put on our clothes after being covered in oils.

Quiet, modern and very comfortable room. Bed so comfortable and pillows amazing. Cleanliness of high standard and toiletries, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water & shortbread biscuits provided. Decor in room was to a very high standard - loved it! Stayed at hotel as attending a wedding there. So lovely to be able to go to a room at the venue to freshen up and change in the evening.

Room could have been a bit bigger, but not a problem for us, as felt so comfortable. I think if paying £207 for one night, that breakfast (even if continental style) should be included in price. That would be an added bonus.

We recently enjoyed a stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We started off with a drink at Palm Court whilst listening to the pianist before heading over to the gym and spa. Later in the evening we had a drink at Nelson's before our evening meal at Palm Court. Overall, we had a lovely stay.

The spa felt a little on the small side, especially the seating area. We were hoping to sit down and relax with a book but felt like we couldn't as there were quite a lot of people in the spa at the same time. Our room was nicely decorated and felt modern and fresh. The only negative was that the bathroom door was more like a shower door and had no way of locking it or even shutting it properly. Noise also carried through the bathroom vent from the room upstairs. We felt like the points above were very minor things compared to our overall experience.

The hotel was really clean and modern. We came here as a stop over before our holiday in Wales and the hotel was so stylish and accommodating. The room was really stylish and had everything you need. We were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and they gave us a plate of desserts with a celebration message. I used the fitness centre and pool- both brilliant. Would really recommend staying here. The staff were lovely and the food/breakfast was to a high standard

Parking was a bit of an issue on a weekend, but that can't be helped.

We booked a standard room and were upgraded to a nicer room upon our arrival, it was a nice surprise. The bed was comfortable, we enjoyed the spa facilities (the temperature in the pool, jacuzzi and sauna/steam was perfect). Food was very good. The staff was amazing and very friendly. We recognised a reception manager from our last visit and were happy to see her, she is always so thoughtful. Also the waitress at Nelson pub was superb. Everyone was very nice! It was our second visit and we will be definitely coming back again.

The safe didn`t work, we couldn`t lock it. It would be great to have a warmer temperature in the room when we arrive, it was quite cold and it took time to heat it. But it`s not a big deal.

Gorgeous venue from the moment you walk into the lobby reception area, extremely luxurious, well decorated with lovely furnishings. Reception staff are friendly and made check-in/out quick and simple. We stayed in a superior room, which was absolutely huge. Bed and pillows were really comfy. Bathroom was large with a nice big bath and double walk-in shower that had good water pressure. Stayed here for a wedding which was fabulous from start to finish, food was excellent quality. Can highly recommend and would stay here again.

Nothing not to like

Stayed as a group of 3 to celebrate a birthday. Our room was very spacious with a double bed, a sofa bed and a single bed. Hotel slippers and robes for us all were provided but be aware of the cost if you lose or take the robes. They're not cheap! Tea / coffee/ hot choc, biscuits in room. Swimming pool was good, bit chilly but the hot tub was lovely. We went down on the Saturday evening before going out so it wasn't busy. My friend went down the following morning and said it was much busier. Pub and restaurant on site and the breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice. I asked and was given Gluten Free toast which they prepared in the kitchen and bought out for me. Friendly staff. Entrance hall to the hotel is very nice and spacious but there's a lot of dust in places. Would come back I think if the price was right. We got a good deal, which was no more than what we've paid for at standard B&B's. Free wifi in the hotel. A lovely hotel and would recommend to others, only a short distance from Chester city centre. We had a great time :)

Room could've done with hooks to hang towels after showering. Mattress on double bed was very lumpy in places (I did mention this to staff and they thanked me for telling them). So if you stay in room 38 hopefully this is rectified :) don't think the sofa bed was the best either according to my friend. Getting a taxi / uber wasn't an easy task and we wasted time on this and in the end my friend drove to the park n ride. £5 return for three but meant she couldn't drink.

Here for a wedding, 2 night stay. Hotel and grounds were beautiful, bed super comfy, wasnt expecting a £50 each service charge hold on arrival, should be clearer on booking. Hotel manager was fantastic, receptionists a little moody. Dinner was amazing, Breakfast was amazing, drinks in the Nelsons Bar quite expensive.

Paying the service charge when there were no robes, slippers, available to go down to the pool. Receptionist quite moody. Pre-check in didnt speed up check-in in the slightest.

Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff who always go above and beyond. We were left birthday cakes and a card and complimentary upgraded on our room. This just made our stay 10x better! We love this hotel and have visited 8 times in the last 2 years. The spa is amazing very clean and great facilities.

The lockers in the spa are very outdated and have either no key or not pin to keep it safe on your swimwear. They are also very stiff when locking or unlocking. There was also no shower head in the main pool shower by the sauna. The sauna was also unsafe, I cut myself on a piece of wood and then the following day it was out of order as the wood was missing. So I assume this was unsafe.
