The location was perfect for visiting Chester & for our onward journey to Snowdonia. We arrived a couple of hours early and our room was ready which was a real bonus. The reception ladies were excellent & gave us loads of info on visiting Chester. Our room was very spacious & clean & quiet although our bed wasn’t made up on our second night & we had to ask for extra tea, coffee & milk. Great to have a mini fridge & free water. Would have preferred to have just a shower & not have to clamber into the bath but this seems to be still be the case in most hotels. Lovely towels & shower products though. Air conditioning was really effective. Huge television too.

We used the pool on both afternoons of our stay & it was great to have pool towels provided. The leisure staff were very friendly & helpful. However, the pool surroundings are in real need of an update & to be honest the ladies changing & shower area was dirty. This part of the hotel was rather disappointing.

The leisure club was not good. No towels available when we went down and the young guy on the reception there was clueless. He said bring them down from your room. So I asked at the main reception upstairs and they said they would get housekeeping to send some down, not really sure why the man on pool desk couldn’t have done this. Dirty changing rooms with nappies on the floor. Smelt of drains. Bird poo all over windows in leisure club. Very small pool and jacuzzi and it was busy and noisy with little ones, making the experience not unpleasant.

The staff are excellent, so welcoming and friendly. Went above and beyond. They are a total credit to the hotel and made our experience 5 star. Well done, and thank you to each and every one of them, the reception, breakfast, bar, breakfast, and evening meal staff and spa, you made my friends 50th birthday perfect, and we never told them once why we were there x The food was amazing, with great value and really fresh... We met the chef Jamie when he came out later. What a lovely guy. Sorry I didn't get any other names, but I couldn't pinpoint any others out as all amazing. The spa facilities were quiet, so very relaxing. The rooms were lovely, clean and quite large, with everything we needed.

Very unappealing view of the property before entering! However, this all changed when we went inside. Attractive decor. Reception staff were exceptional. Very helpful, friendly, informative, knowledgeable and professional. Room was a good size and very clean and comfortable. Bathroom very clean with all expected amenities. Breakfast was exceptionally good with a large choice, some that were new to me. The availability of freshly cooked items such as eggs Benedict was very welcome. All stall here were also extremely helpful and friendly. It was only a very short walk to the centre of Chester. We will definitely be staying again!

The location of this hotel is perfect for my daughter and I to go to the theatre, gigs and shopping. The staff are so welcoming and polite and it is definitely great value for money . The rooms are spacious, well equipped with tea and coffee and the beds are so comfortable. We will be booking again and would recommend to friends and family

Through no fault of the hotel we did experience quite a few slamming doors, just inconsiderate people above and alongside. We were awoken by 2 ladies talking immediately outside our room , 118, for about 30 minutes before they started their cleaning but again it was just one of those things.

Hotel was lovely, staff were friendly and polite. We visited the bar and ate food too which was lovely. Breakfast was spot on too. The view of the race course from the bathroom was lovely. Appreciated the welcome chocolates and card in our room on arrival for our Wedding Anniversary. We also visited the spa and each had a full body massage. Ruth and Hannah were fab!

The receptionist didn't give us any info on breakfast times/locations. The shower drained really slowly and it was like being stood in a bath with the water build up. The shower was also like a drip.

Location is great 5 minute walk from the centre. Pool and sauna facility were both excellent. Really good breakfast too, if a little expensive.

Shouldn’t be listed as having parking as they only have around 30 spaces for the whole hotel (which you have to pay separately for anyway which isn’t mentioned on purchase). Everyone was just queuing up the ramp and caused a bit of a free for all with cars dumped everywhere and having to reverse back out to avoid everyone. Avoid the stress and park in the market or the pay and display as they’re actually cheaper than the hotel anyway.

Room was tired & dated The executive lounge was cold not very big

The hotel was as expected and locale area was excellent. Unfortunately. Please don't ask if clients staying have any other requirements then ignore them. Breakfast and evening meal was ruined due to the fact I asked for Lactose Free Milk. Which is quite easily obtained. Not oat milk or soya milk which I cannot tolerate. You let yourselves down badly I presume you thought I would accept what you had on offer and be happy. Well I was not and if I was happy to accept oat/soya I would not have made a request for Lactose Free Milk. Due to the fact I presumed when milk was delivered to my room it was per request. The last night of my stay was in my room as I was to ill to accompany him out for our last evening

Don't send email asking if any other requirements if they are going to be ignored. As stated above my last night in your hotel in Chester was ruined as I had to stay in bed to recover for our travel home

Staff very pleasant. The reception and bar areas were really nice. Close to city centre, short walk away only. Great for car parking so close to city centre.

Disappointed that, for the price..not cheap at £183 for one night, , the bathroom toiletries were refill bottles which being attached to the wall/shower area made it difficult to use when having a bath. Ended up having to pump out shower body wash from dispenser into a glass to use in the bath as no small soap bars were made available. Disappointing. Room with a city view...turned out to be overlooking the rear car park area. Room service menu ...overpriced.
