The location was absolutely perfect, easy to reach and close to all the places you should visit in Chester, it was easy to stop there for a bit in the middle of your day while visiting the city. The bed was very comfortable, everything was very clean and there were two big windows letting lots of natural light enter. It had sockets near the bed, hairdryer, TV, clothes hangers, a table, a comfortable armchair, a small fridge... I felt everything I could need. The shower was working perfectly and the bathroom was spacious enough. the place is not suitable for a wheelchair user but it is for people with other reduced mobility issues. They have one room in the ground floor they kindly assigned me upon request as was available when I booked. There are a couple of manageable steps in the entrance (see photo). The rest of the rooms are up the stairs (see photo)

The only thing I didn't like was the difficulty ventilating (the windows in this specific room are too difficult to open, I ventilated by leaving the room door open for a bit while I was inside), but I understand it's a building in the old center... Everything else was perfect so for me that was ok in the end.

Brilliant location! We could walk everywhere from Gosvenor Place. Hosts Dave and Allie were great, lots of local knowledge, where to go and what to see. Comfy bed, but outside was noisy in the morning - could be a problem, for those sleepy heads who aren't early risers! It was fine for us, as we like to get out and about early. Fridge in the room, which is always good. Milk, coffee and tead supplied. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Maybe a wardrobe? There's not very much storage, only bedside cabinets and a set of 2 drawers. Hooks on the wall with coathangers on, so fine for us. Just mentioning it for those who like to hang stuff up......

We loved everything about the property . It’s in such a great location with easy access to all the city has to offer . Everything is within walking distance. The owner Alison is lovely and so friendly and welcoming and has thought of everything to make the stay like home from home. Tea , coffee , chilled water and fresh milk in the mini fridge when we got to our room . We were in room two on the first floor . Plenty of room and an en-suite which was small but well designed and ample for us . Toiletries provided too. We didn’t miss breakfast as there are lots of places nearby offering breakfast including hotels that do buffet style for walk ins .

We wish we had stayed another two nights!

I had a wonderful stay here! The location is perfect, right in the city centre and within walking distance to everything. The lady at the reception was extremely kind and patient she helped me with everything I needed and even replied to my questions late in the evening. The room was cozy and clean, and I was surprised to find a small fridge, which made things so convenient. Honestly, the service and comfort felt like staying in a five star hotel. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Chester!

So easy to find, and the host who met us was so nice and polite. We needed to stay as my boyfriend was working in Liverpool and I needed to get to Preston in the morning, this was a middle point. I would stay here again in a heartbeat Room was on ground floor great for me, it is clean welcoming and tidy, everything you need including water, things to make tea or coffee, biscuits and even fresh milk. They also had en-suite shower and toilet with shower gel and moisturiser The hairdryer was also good quality, dried my hair quickly

Absolutely nothing

The property was clean an comfortable with nice touches of fresh milk an water in the fridge. The rooms are cute an cozy with everything you could need. The location is ideal an central to everything with plenty of nice cafes an pubs nearby. The river an park are just down the road an they are well worth a visit. The hosts are lovely an very helpful if needed. Checking in an out was simple. Lovely all round. The rooms are exactly as the photos show online. Really enjoyed our holiday. Nothing everything was great

Ideal location for the Chester experience. Loved that I got a message to say our room was ready at 9.30am 5 hours earlier than the original check in. Super friendly hosts and a very warm guest house... There are steep steps up to the top 3rd floor so be aware on booking. They were great keeping in touch pre arrival and suggested places to go and gave parking advice. It was terrific value for money. It was way too hot and I couldn't turn it down...however there was a fan in the room so all good..

I had a wonderful stay here. Alison and David are lovely people, very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and very clean. It's directly across from a pub and it was a hot night so I slept with the window open, even so, the noise wasn't bad, and I slept fine. (I can imagine a weekend might be a bit more rowdy, so if that would bother you, it's something to keep in mind. Maybe get a room with the window facing the juxtaposed street.) A great, powerful fan was provided which I really appreciated, and the window in the room (I stayed in the upstairs double) is nice and big. Room is well appointed, lots of natural light, lovely tea station with fresh milk provided, and the location (just a few steps from Bridge Street and lots of great places to eat) can't be beat. It's terrific place to stay, and I would definitely stay again next time I'm in Chester.

The sink in the bathroom is a bit small (which is to be expected because of the historic house it's in) and the placement of the handwash dispenser made it impossible to wash my face in the sink, so I had to jump in the shower. I'm not sure if the handwash on the wall is something that could be moved over a little to make the sink more accessible? Free parking is available after 3pm, but if you move your car the next day, you have to wait until after 3pm again to enter the lot. That may sound like a bit of a bother, but honestly, finding any kind of free parking in Chester is a huge bonus, so I as very grateful this was available at all! Just mentioning it so others are aware of the situation and can make an informed decision based on their circumstances.

Exceeded my expectations: Received a very warm welcome from the helpful hosts. Very clean and comfortable room and bed, with great en suite shower. Guest house is in the most historic part of Chester - just a short stroll from the picturesque riverside, some lovely old pubs and eateries, the fascinating Roman ruins, and steps up onto the ancient city walls that provide a raised viewpoint for a chilled amble around the beautiful city centre.

A lovely, small property, close to the town centre. The owners were friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable, with good internet access and USB charging ports. Pictures of local subjects, and other touches made it feel homely. No meals was not a problem, as you are so close to many places to eat snacks and meals.
