Location and grandeur - if you want a little bit of quiet and make an impression, its perfect. The breakfast was also great, particularly the homemade hash browns. I was staying for work so didn't make use of the facilities, but the restaurant looked quite opulent. Definitely worth taking your partner for a special occasion.
The bed was a 7/10 - but this is always subjective. I marked down on cleanliness as the carpet in both rooms I had was stained in places and there was a lot of dirt build up on the windows; this is hard to resolve being a castle with single glazed windows and 3 feet walls and a lot of condensation! The fixtures could do with a bit of TLC, but the magic of the place can oversee this minor point. Breakfast not starting until 0800.

The castle is a beautiful setting, we ate in the brasserie for our evening mean and then breakfast before we left, can't fault either
We didn't have robes provided as was stated we would, I called down to reception who said they would get some for us but they never arrived, just a small issue it definitely didn't spoil our visit. My partner was booked on the land-rover driving experience, it could do with a little better signage but again not a major issue All the staff were amazing the lady who greeted us Jane (I think) and Harry in the wine cellar bar deserve a special mention as both were super helpful and friendly

Beautiful property and location for the price I paid and given the views was very disappointed with the view we had in Clifton. Surprised no fridge or mini bar. Breakfast setup a touch chaotic having to wait on the stairs to be allowed in and the quality of the full English was very poor. One piece of undercooked bacon stuck in half and my slice toast was a burnt crust!!! Fine dining experience was good staff were great and the Chateaubriand was delicious at a £105!!!!
Breakfast experience and quality of the breakfast.

The whole accommodation was gorgeous. We stayed in an executive room and it was was beautiful and very cosy. Bed was huge. Bathroom large and comfortable. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was very good. A lot of choice.
Ordered a drink but after half an hour I had to chase this. Went into the hotel wine cellar bar there didn’t seem to be any staff on, despite other parties having drinks. Shower door closed inwards and therefore was very difficult to actually get into the shower and then the door didn’t stay shut and had to wedge something under it. As we only stayed one night this wasn’t an issue but it would have been a pain if staying any longer.

We loved the approach and especially all the Pheasant's running around. The car park "in the woods". The atmosphere. Walking across the bridge and through the gates, into the grounds of the Castle. The gorgeous Chapel, would have loved to go inside. We loved wandering around inside the Castle. All the gorgeous stair cases, everywhere. We had a cheeky peak in to the "wedding" that was taking place. Gorgeous. Our room was amazing, Clotton 111. Just wish we had a room overlooking the inside grounds, all lit up at night.
Just wish there was a spa facility.

Beautiful property and an awesome place for a wedding or large family gathering.
Shower over the bath needed attention and small double bed in such a large room. Could have easily fitted a queen or king bed.

Food, location, staff all excellent.
I was travelling during the day to get there so was unaware of the emails reminding me to book the bistro and when we got there the bistro was fully booked. I'm aware, however, that this is my fault for not checking emails but I didn't realise how busy it would be. Curtains in the room didn't really close properly and not a great view over the bins, will request a different outlook next time as I'm sure most rooms have wonderful views.

Stunning location, the type dreams are made of. Tastefully decorated in keeping with the history of the castle Food was delicious and piping hot. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were always smiling and were very well presented. Room was amazing, shower was fabulous and got, lovely deep bath, and a full stone fireplace within the room.
For us personally the rooms were quite warm, and the pillows were a little too soft, but that is personal preference

Fascinating, historic buildings. Excellent food.
Room was a bit dark without the ability to switch on extra lights. Especially in the bathroom where a lamp over the sink is essential. I had a particularly bad deal on Booking.com which the hotel weren’t prepared to try and sweeten for me. Breakfast only from 8.00 which was too late as had to leave by 7.30 at the latest, although a hot sandwich was offered which was not really what I wanted.

Impressive castle. Very nicely decorated and spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Overall a very cool experience to stay in such a well preserved/maintained castle.
We had no hot water in the bathroom and the reaction from the hotel was quite relaxed. We had to put the kids in the bed skipping the shower. It got fixed after a while. The second night it worked as expected. Guest are expected to wait to be seated at the breakfast but the door is not very visible to the personnel serving people and taking care of the buffet, so people need to wait long time until seen.
