Staff were amazing and helpful. They came out to the car and carried our bags up the stairs. Room was refreshed after the first night and the girl doing the rooms was lovely and helpful. Location was great for a wedding we were booked at down the road. Room was clean and tidy spacious and complimentary shampoo conditioner and shower gel and moisturiser. Would definitely stay here again.

There was no facility for breakfast, but there is a lovely open kitchen behind the pub in the car park. Also, we arrived back from the wedding and the bar was closed but apart from that everything was great!

I was looking forward to commenting publicly on how welcoming and accommodating the staff were. In particular, we were attending a wedding nearby at Carden Park, but were staying here. Check in was usually 4pm, but that would have led to us leaving and returning. Wayne was very good at communicating with us, and whilst we understand this may not typically be provided, Wayne made it so that we were able to collect our room key at 11:15am. This meant we could simply leave and return late in the evening to go straight to our room. Also the lady who greeted us when arriving was ready to greet us, and explained the key locking process and showed us the room (the room was not yet ready to use, but we knew that, and were not needing the room at that point). Would stay again, it's only a short 7 minute drive from Carden Park.

Nothing of note to report

Very large hotel room plenty of space. Ate dinner at the pub on the first night which was delicious. Both kettle, coffee machine and hair dryer in room despite listing only mentioning kettle so this was handy. Fans in the corridor to grab if needed. Along with a fridge with milk for hot drinks (no fridge in room). Lovely welcome by staff. Plenty parking at the pub.

It is an old building so the windows are old and let in a draft, radiator was on the majority of my stay and on arrival most heat was escaping out the window. The road outside is quite loud. Local taxis are very expensive for anyone looking at staying and needing a taxi. There’s no photos of bathroom on the listing - it’s very old fashioned (think pink suite) however, apart from a temperamental toilet flush there were no complaints it was fine and clean. Would have been nice to have breakfast option however woukd recommend the lost barn for breakfast.

The location was good set in beautiful rural countryside which I happily had some time to explore once I arrived before dark but equally had good transport links, the member of staff on duty staff on duty when I arrived was very helpful in helping me sort out they internet connection when the technology when wrong, despite being a pub sandwiched between two busy highways my room was surprisingly quite, I also liked having real fresh milk for my cups of tea something you rarely find in any hotel

the only downer i can think of was the fact that I had to constantly resign into the internet and fill in a form which wasn't helped by the fact that it didn't recognise my postcode

Lovely clean spacious room, staff were amazing and helpful - providing milk and going above and beyond when we forgot our toothpaste, offering to get us some on the way into work the following morning. Coffee and tea facilities in the room was amazing, with fresh milk available in fridge in main corridor.

Bathroom decor was dated - but very clean so cannot complain. Located on busy main road which can be noisy during the night - again cannot complain, as if you research you will prepare and bring earplugs.

From the minute we walked in we were made to feel like one of the family. Stacey, Jake, Shannon, Hollie, Luca and chef Tom are an amazing team who work well together and it's obvious they enjoy what they're doing. We'll be back again even if it is a five hour journey to get there.

The fire alarm (wrongly) going off at 6.30 on our last morning. I've since spoken to them and found it's a new system with teething trouble. Just hope they can sort it out.

It was a last minute booking, and it had a restaurant on sight. A lady checked us in and was very friendly and showed us to our room which was fully equipped, tea, coffee, water and bathroom had shower gel shampoo and conditioner and moisturiser and tv with plenty of space. We had a meal in restaurant and got 20% of due to staying in hotel. We had a great night's sleep and left early Sunday morning, even though checkout wasn't till 11am.

Good location to explore Chester and the area but avoid expensive accommodation in the city. Chester city centre 20 min drive, Liverpool 50 min. The pub/restaurant downstairs looks very cosy, although we didn't try, cannot say about food and drinks. Our room had window to the beer garden therefore it wasn't noisy, we kept the window open overnight and it was fine. Plenty of parking spaces available.

The bed wasn't the most comfortable I've ever used. The mattress didn't seem to be a good value item, also seemed quite worn with its springs overused therefore very soft, no support to the back, we didn't sleep very well because of this.

Staff were so kind. Food was stunning, and discounted as I was a guest. I had dinner alone as I was there for work but it didn’t feel intimidating in the slightest. Nice vibe in the bar/restaurant with some clear regulars there getting along with the staff. Room and en suite very clean.

If I had to choose something, the bedroom and bathroom were a bit dated but I knew this from the photos anyway. No socket next to bed for phone.

A nice welcoming pub with rooms. We had the largest room which had plenty of space and was very clean. The bed was comfy. Only stayed as we were at a party nearby but was good value for money for what we needed.

Shane it didn’t do breakfast or even a continental breakfast pack. Had to leave the room to get milk from the fridge on the landing for a cup of tea.
