Central, near the touristic hotspots. Beautiful room, I had a quiet room on the back of the building, as requested, with no noise at all from the street or from the pub ( closing at 11 anyway). Very good internet, friendly staff. Because it is above a pub, there are people for information during the day. The rooms have a separate entrance to reach the street, so you have privacy too.

Some very minor details, like the electricity plugs difficulty reachable under the bed or befind a furniture. A longer cable would have helped. Or the water boiler that was too big for the sink, so I filled it from the shower . A clothe for the floor of the bathroom could have been practical too. Also, no one manually confirmed my booking, so until the last moment, I was not sure if it was received. But to summarise, I had a very nice stay there, thank you.

Staff were very welcoming. Complimentary drink, spacious room. Decent size TV on the wall and free WiFi. Towels included. Great location

It states free toiletries, so I didn't bring anything with me. There was soap and a body gel dispenser, no shampoo, the dispenser wasn't working properly so it was a struggle washing my hair. We got in late after being out and couldn't get into the hallway as another customer had put the latch on, after phoning alot, I had to force the key round and push the door forcefully, luckily the door didn't break and luckily we got back into the room. The shower head and pipe could've done with more cleaning.

I stayed in the room called the diffrence . Was nice and had everything I needed . Wasn't a fridge but it was fine as the bar gave me a big bucket of ice to put my milk . The bed was cozy and was peacefull . But best part of the stay the manager and staff were so welcoming and I didn't even feel out of place going in the pub on my own as a women wich was lovely . It's got a really nice atmosphere and the locals were all nice and spoke to me when ever they seen me . I've stayed in a lot of hotels lately in chester and they have all been nice but this one was the best because of the atmosphere .nothing was to much trouble and this will deffently be the one now I will always go to now . It's not posh like others it's just ran lovely by down to earth people only stayed few nights but could of stayed longer if I could xxxxx

I liked it all but shower could of been a bit more powerful. It was hot tho so didn't bother me x

Quirky decor including random tiling in the bathrooms and random pictures over all the walls. We were a group of 6 ladies and they were able to accommodate us with 3 rooms with single beds. The staff allowed us to leave our bags before and after our stay so we wear able to explore Chester without baggage.

The ladies in the front bedrooms couldn’t open their windows very wide so it was warm. Also, there was traffic noise from 5am. The room at the back was cool and quiet. Very steep stairs lead to the rooms.

My single room was beautiful, from the leafy carpet and tapestry-like blackout curtains to the warm colours and imaginative decor. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, bright and relatively roomy. The staff were helpful and responsive— e.g., the weather had turned cold suddenly and the rooms were quite chilly, and they didn’t hesitate to turn on the heat when asked.

The wifi connected in the pub, but did not reach my room (#5) on the top floor. I stayed on a Saturday night and found the street noise to be a problem until nearly 2 a.m. This was no fault of the hotel, as their pub closed up around 11, but the location is something to be aware of if you need a quiet room. The hotel is on a fairly significant thoroughfare and there were lots of cars, both passing and parked/idling, with thumping music, and a stream of revellers flowing from the bars and restaurants in the centre of town. I would be happy to stay there again, but not on a Saturday night in a room facing the street. (Two of the six rooms face the back.)

Accessibility, great location, 9 mins walk into town. Comfortable bed, clean shower/bathroom. Nice quirky decor.. something different and great value. Staff were friendly on welcome, and helped with additional tea/milk.

Windows facing main Street junction, so some road noise . Yes double glazed unit was great at muting sound, but you had to have it open for fresh air. So...a bit of a catch 22... Car parking was a bit of an issue , but do your homework and prepare for a bit of a walk to secure parking if you're staying a couple of days.

Lovely place to stay. Will definitely stay here again. Good value for money. Friendly helpful staff in check in. Loved the decor

Nothing all was good. Only thing was that on checkout day we were reminded that checkout was 11am about 15 minutes before hand which I suppose is handy if you didn't know but wasn't sure if it was because they wanted us out sooner but we were out bang on 11am which I thought was normal. But might just be their way of making sure everyone is aware

Stayed for one night with my son. The hotel is connected to a pub below but has a separate entrance. Quirky rooms, well appointed with towels, toiletries etc. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great central location and no noise from the pub. We stayed in the Happy Room. It's small but the two single beds were perfectly adequate but unless you need to really spread out I can thoroughly recommend staying here.

No tea bags just instant coffee, biscuits and hot chocolate in the room.

It's in a really good location, mid way from train station to the city, an easy walk. You check in at the pub, and the staff were lovely , friendly and helpful. The room is a mini suite with a little hall way and a bathroom off the hallway, giving it more space. The floor space is minimal in the room but it was fine for our short stay. All things you need there - hairdryer , iron, TV etc Pretty comfy beds Really clean Shower was lovely once we figured to pull the cord by the toilet to switch it on, it was easy Plug socket near the bed for charging Drinks discount 15% at the bar for staying there and a free drink! They let us keep our bags once we'd checked out before we headed off later on the train

The rooms were clean, comfortable and in a fairly safe area. Free luggage storage with friendly staff. Fan provided in room. Noise from pub below did not bother our stay. Bathroom was small but acceptable for 2 night stay. Plenty of soaps and tea/coffee sachets in room. Had own downstairs key and key to bedroom. Never heard other guests. A quirky hotel, well worth booking.
