This hotel was fantastic. The friendly and helpful staff were responsive to messages before the stay, and welcomed us warmly on arrival. There are lifts. The hotel itself is on a quiet side road and we found it very peaceful. The room was clean, comfortable and felt luxurious. Beds were comfy. Fantastic selection of really nice quality teas, coffees, etc. Adjustable room temperature - brilliant (the amount of times I’ve nearly boiled in a hotel!). En suite was gorgeous. Car parking - you can pull in and unload opposite the hotel. We were then directed to a car park nearby which cost just over £14 for 24 hrs. You’ll need Ringo to pay. Location of the hotel was excellent. It is a short walk to the centre and the multitude of things to do in Chester. The attached Forge Restaurant was rather posh, food delicious - recommended!

Nothing - delighted with everything

Absolutely loved the location. The hotel is just a short walk from the train station but also close to everything in town. We walked to the river and the Rows, StoryHouse Theatre and the cathedral. Walking back to the hotel at the end of the evening felt safe, even after taking a ghost tour! Despite its central location the hotel is peaceful and quiet. I especially liked how warm and accommodating the reception staff were. We were able to drop bags off first thing, on our way into Chester from the train station, and they were waiting in our room when we checked in. Last time we visited Chester, we stayed at the Grosvenor and although that was lovely and grand and historic, I much prefer the Indigo for its welcoming atmosphere and beautiful decor.

Great hotel in the city center that deserves its 4 stars. You can stop in front of the hotel to unload your suitcases. Large, clean, quiet room and bathroom. Plenty of storage space and space for 2 suitcases. Super extensive breakfast that really deserves to be called a "continental breakfast" - it really had everything. There is an affordable, inexpensive parking, even for larger vehicles, with over 200 places at the train station of Chester. Chester railway station is about 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. You can pay your park ticket at the counter in the station, where you can also get information about trains to Liverpool (direct connection) and Manchester. If you plan to visit Liverpool we recommend taking the train, so you don't spend time and money looking for a parking space. There are several departures per hour, travel time approx. 45 minutes. Of the places on the Welsh coast, we liked Llandudno the best. When we asked at reception, we were recommended an Indian restaurant nearby, almost opposite the hotel, and they even reserved a table for Saturday evening. It was really good. We were also able to borrow an English adapter, as our own didn't work with the laptop. Chester city centre was about 10-15 minutes away from the hotel, but not just the main road, but also the option of walking through a park and along the River Dee.

Lovely hotel and location

Rooms were not ready at 3pm. It was sorted, but other people whilst we were asked to wait were being allocated rooms. The bar was very expensive and we were charged more for our second round of the exact same order. When we queried this we were told that some staff add a serve charge but others don’t. Not the best reason for adding nearly £5 to a drink order that went to the bar for ourselves.

We like everything: the location,quirky deco,great selection for breakfast.Receptionists were very professional and helpfull.Great service and great atmosphere at Ristorant.

Lovely room, exceptionally clean and great staff!

Love the decor of the hotel and it had a nice friendly atmosphere. The breakfast staff were lovely especially Steve. Made us feel very welcomed. The checking in staff also were friendly and when I advised Tom it was my birthday. A card was left in our room with complimentary drinks. The room was very clean and had everything you could ask for. We had a balcony that we could sit out in the evening. Very local situation close to everything and the attractions. Breakfast was lovely. Everything tasted great. We would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed our stay.

The only thing I would say is the room was very hot and we didn’t know how to work the thermostat properly. We got it down to 16 degrees but it wouldn’t go any lower. We didn’t ask so this is no fault of the hotel. Everything was lovely and a very enjoyable stay.

From the minute we entered to the minute we left, the staff couldn’t do enough for us! The room was clean, spacious and had the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. The mini fridge stocked with water and soft drinks (replenished daily) was a lovely touch and welcoming after a day at the zoo! We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was fabulous. Breakfast was included with our rate and the choice was huge, from cooked items to fresh fruit, pastries, cereals and even waffles with bacon and maple syrup! We loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Location was great, about 8 minutes walk from the railway station and less than that to the centre of the city. Park two minutes away, leading to the river. Reception staff extremely welcoming and friendly. Housekeeping were on the floor when we arrived and the head housekeeper introduced herself and said to ask if anything was needed. The room was comfortable and stylish, with a good ambient temperature. The ensuite bathroom was a good size, the shower easy to control. Lots of work surface for your toiletries, which sometimes isn't the case. The mini fridge was stocked with water and soft drinks. There was also fresh milk. Breakfast was included and there was a great selection on the cold buffet. Would definitely stay again if visiting Chester.

The only problem we encountered with the room was that returning to the room after an evening out we turned the TV on but it was not programmed. After unsuccessfully trying to retune we decided as it was quite late it did not matter. We told reception on checking out and they were apologetic about this. Staff were very apologetic as there had been an emergency in the kitchen and one of the chefs had had to leave breakfast shift so there was a limited hot choice, but again this did not really matter to us.

This hotel is superb. The public areas & bedrooms are spot on & it's a really nice touch to have complimentary snacks & soft drinks in your room. The breakfast is great with either a full English, continental or something off the menu along with cereals & fruit. The staff are amazing, friendly, proactive & nothing is too much trouble. The location couldn't be better and is both in a quiet spot yet close to all that Chester has to offer. I have no hesitation in recommending & will use other hotels in the chain.

The icing on the cake would be on site parking but having said that carpark is not not far away & we actually found it easier & more economical to use public transport if venturing further than the city.
