The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from Chester train station and within a few minutes walk of the city centre. The rooms are spotless and staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated along the canal with two lovely restaurant / pubs ( with outdoor seating further along ), there is also a Waitrose next door for any supplies needed. The rooms are spacious with tea and coffee making facilities and a full size hairdryer. The bed / pillows etc are super comfortable and there was no noise from other rooms. We had a room upgrade too which was really appreciated. Will definitely stay again.

Nothing, it was perfect.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Moxy. I was in a group of 15 for a hen party. From the first initial enquiry to the stay itself all staff were so helpful and extremely friendly. I would like to mention Richard who I spoke to on numerous occasions, and Sarah who also helped with some of the arrangements. Both couldn't have done enough to ensure our stay was perfect. On arrival, I was greeted by Richard, which was lovely to put a name to a face. He was so helpful throughout the whole weekend. First we went to our room. I was with the bride and in the room there were huge balloons, bride to be signs, a personal message on the mirror and a bottle of prosecco. I was blown away with this and the bride got very emotional. What a wonderful start to our stay. We had arranged a space for the evening to do some hen party games and we ordered food. I had preordered and Richard ensured it was on time and all hens agreed it was delicious. The Moxy was happy for us to put some decorations up which the bride loved. You could have breakfast and paying separately for that really suited our group. So some ladies did, some didn't. I had the breakfast which was amazing, food options a plenty from continental to cooked, juices to teas and coffee. Fantastic choice! I loved the relaxed, fun vibe that the hotel offered, a refreshing change to others I have stayed in. I could not fault the staff, everyone I spoke to were so friendly and willing to help, I felt really looked after. Thank you! I would absolutely stay at Moxy again, great value for money and I would highly recommend it. Thank you to the Moxy team :)

Great position and we had a lovely modern room overlooking the canal with good facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful and parking (although limited) in front of the hotel was a bonus. The fabulous Barton Rouge curry house is only a two minute walk away along the canal.

No individual control of air conditioning in the room. Literature suggests opening windows if it’s hot. Breakfast was a buffet in the reception area. It was very average and despite not finishing til 10 most of the hot items had run out at half 9 as had plates and cutlery. Also we weren’t told there are major building works in the car park in the front of the hotel. Didn’t affect us thankfully as we were in a room at the back.

Very relaxed atmosphere, quirky decor but rooms were really well thought out with unusual but useful storage, a built in armchair and table by the bed, plenty of coffee and tea, and a brilliant bathroom with a sliding door. Double sized shower and lighting that you could put your make up on by for once! I was very impressed. Buffet breakfast was included and there was lots of choice, whether you wanted traditional English, cereals, continental, pastries, yohurt and fruit, or all of the above!

There wasn't anything really. I would definitely stay in a Moxy hotel again.

We had the most amazing stay at the Moxy Hotel in Chester! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming, stylish, and relaxed. Every single member of staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and the service was absolutely faultless. A special mention must go to Keith, the manager, who was truly exceptional. His warm and friendly approach made all the difference—nothing was too much trouble, and he made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality really stood out, making us feel valued and appreciated as guests. The hotel itself is modern, comfortable, and full of character. The rooms were spotless and well-designed, offering a great night’s sleep. The communal areas had a fantastic vibe, and the bar was a great place to relax with a drink. The location is ideal, making it easy to explore everything Chester has to offer. We can’t recommend Moxy Chester highly enough and will definitely be back. That we only stayed one night!

This was our third stay at the Moxy. and certainly won’t be our last. It is convenient to the centre with all its amenities. It is situated by the canal which also provides a lovely walk. The place is always clean and the staff exceptional . The cleaning staff were thorough, and the room was always well presented and lovely and clean. We’d like to mention Keith in particular who was so helpful - please thank him personally on our behalf. Parking Is easy via the app and a reasonable price. We can highly recommend this hotel and have done so to many of our friends and our family.

Everything was ‘spot-on’ - no problems.

We had to book last minute after being stranded in Liverpool following an incident after the trophy parade. We had no way of getting back to Yorkshire, and there were no affordable hotels in Liverpool. We arrived very late, wet, cold, and hungry. The room was a fabulous lovely big bed, welcoming cocktails on check-in and late bar. Warm shower was just what we needed. The room was lovely & warm enough to dry off our wet clothes. This place was a god send, and a 12pm checkout was appreciated.

Nothing will definitely return under better circumstances

Second visit this year , the hotel is excellent, 10 mins walk into the city , clean rooms and a great breakfast, But I would like to say the staff make it , they are very friendly and always helpful.

Now this is my only gripe is the parking, On our last visit you tapped your reg number into an iPad and paid when you checked out ,GREAT, Now you have to download a parking app on you mobile, set up an account, which took ages to do, then you pay for your stay, but you can only book 24 hours at a time , so every day your back on the app to book another day , and so on , It’s a real pain , also having navigated this app myself, I’m not sure how people of a certain age will manage, This could put people off from booking the hotel

Staff were lovely, very friendly and chatty. We saw a variety of staff members being so helpful to an an elderly customer, making sure she was ok, this was wonderful to see. The room and breakfast were very good value for money. We will definitely stay again if we come back to Chester.

Car park was closed due to work being carried out on the roof. An email about this would have been helpful, especially as we had booked parking with Moxy’s suggested company. The hotel staff were very understanding and helpful about our parking situation, especially as we hadn’t realised our Moxy car park booking was 17 minutes walk from the hotel! The hotel has a notice explaining the parking situation at reception, this isn’t ideal if you are a visitor to the area and have been advised to book parking before you arrive! Again I can’t stress how accommodating the staff were, but a little email to us would have prevented double parking fees.

Large open spaced downstairs area modern clean and inviting. Compact clean comfortable bedroom with nice toiletries. Staff extremely hard working, knowledgeable about local area , definitely a credit to the hotel . Reception area had nice seating areas with ambient candles and well stocked reasonably priced bar .

Breakfast was a free for all with only 2 extremely hard working staff spinning plates trying to work the reception, bar, filling plates /cutlery, topping up food, filling coffee machines ,sorting toasters topping everything up and cleaning tables as well as dealing with residents. We had no where to sit so had to eat at the bar and waited so long for cutlery with food going cold we used spoons for our sausages and bacon ! It felt like student residence sharing glasses as all in dishwasher and lack of utensils etc not something we expected on a relaxed stay definitely disappointing !
