Room was fine, clean and comfortable clean and functional bathroom Decent bed linen and towels. Staff really helpful & friendly Great value for money and quiet at night.
As rooms are all ground floor it didn't feel comfortable to leave windows open all night and it was soooo hot! Bathroom 'toiletries' consisting of a ' soap/ hair' small solid bar...yet there was a bottle of what appeared to be bath salts in the recess by the shower, which seemed contradictory. A single use low grade soap bar , but a half full bottle of bathsalts -which may have been just for decor perhaps but really not good if a multi use product. 😬 A chair in the room would be good

Location was lovely. Attached to a great pub for food/drinks. Staff were lovely and the food/service in the pub was excellent. Breakfast was lovely quality.
Booked a king room, but was allocated a twin bed room (beds pushed together), that was inter-connected via an internal door to another room. Would be great for parents staying with kids/teens, but not for us. All photos/descriptions we saw when booking showed a King Bed, and we didn’t see any thing that said twin rooms available, so didn’t think we needed to specify. We also overlooked the beer garden, so best to specify if you want a room facing a quieter area, as there is just one blind, which has to be fully closed for privacy, and then the room is very dark.

Beautiful clean modern rooms. Nice touches. Quiet, peaceful and comfortable. Amazing Breakfast !!
Evening meal very disappointing. Poor menu choices. I chose salmon. Came with hard undercooked potatoes. Waitress swapped them for chips but by the time they arrived I'd eaten the salmon and peas. We were both really disappointed in the food. I ordered a Pimms but it was poorly presented. Just 2 hard pieces of dried fruit and a load of ice in it. More suited to a bowl of pot pouri ! Service was very good though. Would definitely stay here again but would eat elsewhere.

Stayed numerous times as love the location, friendly and welcoming staff, good service and that all rooms on ground floor. Comfy bed. Great to sit outside in sunny weather.
Told we were having hill view and didn’t. Been staying for few years now and some minor TLC in room. Hummingbird - Door needed key to pull shut, crack in bathroom sink, bathroom door not able to shut unless locking from inside and no where to rest suitcase on so had to put stuff in wardrobe which is a pain when only staying one night. Woken very late by noisy people in adjoining room. Older Gentleman sat by bar bar swearing a lot which wasn’t pleasant to listen to.

This is a gorgeous classy country pub with rooms, which are all set away from the pub around a courtyard. We had stayed here before so knew it was good when we booked. We received a warm welcome, and the staff were attentive throughout our stay. We ate in the restaurant both nights - the food was excellent. Breakfast is great too, and all the better for it being included in the price. Beds are super comfy (pillows could be a bit plumper) and the decor of the room is tasteful. It's great that each room can control their own heating, which was efficient. Loved the bath - a great size to wallow in, even for the larger person!
There were no hooks to hang outdoor coats - a simple fix as there is ample room to add a few just as you walk into the room, outside the bathroom door. We had to leave them on the floor because whilst there is a wardrobe, who wants to hang wet coats next to your best clothes? Besides a small bar of soap, there are no toiletries provided - just a simple shampoo and shower gel by the bath would have been welcome

The Cock O Barton is a great place to stay. My wife and I just fancied a night away (we live in Chester) and chose the Cock O Barton, as we'd eaten there before. The rooms are great as is the pub. Lots of locals in. The food for dinner was fantastic, my wife had risotto and I had the haddock and chips. The batter was the crispiest I've had and perfectly cooked. A very pleasent evening with a couple of pints of Guinness and a couple of glasses of Merlot. :-) The breakfast was really good, also. You can tell it used quality ingredients. Stand out however was the staff and the attentiveness of them all without exception. The leadership team has fantastic ambassadors in the team.
There was nothing I didn't like,. I'm only writing this section because I have to write 2 or 3 sentences according to Booking.com

Just had a super overnight stay. After a long day/journey the staff were very welcoming & made sure there was a place for me to eat my evening meal in the restaurant. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious, very quiet and warm. Comfortable bed & a hot shower. Excellent meal at a very reasonable price & the prosecco was cold, hurrah! Breakfast was included in the price of the room & was quite possibly one of the best breakfasts I've had in a hotel - eggs cooked to perfection, fresh fruit & proper bread. This will definitely be my choice next time I'm in the area. Just to say there is ample secure parking. A big thank you to the staff who were incredibly efficient & friendly.
Pillows needed renewing & the duvet was great for warmer weather but an extra blanket would have been great as I like a cool room

The staff were wonderful, particularly the light haired lady - always a beaming smile and such personalised and caring service given. Upon my arrival the gentleman showerd me to my eoom and offered to help with my bags. Food and drink was excellent, breakfast was delicious. Prior to my visit I got a courtesy call to see if I wanted to book a table in the restaurant which was a lovely touch. The rooms were comfortable and clean, towels and refreshments provided. The sweet treats and shampoo bar were a really nice touch. Modern decor. The signs for the door and matching artwork throughout the restaurant were so cute! The bathroom in the restaurant was utterly gorgeous. A lovely selection of beers and cask on offer, with gin, wine and so much more. A gorgeous place and I'd definitely return. The pillows were so comfortable!!
My only, very minor, qualm was that we asked for a replenishment (we got a form to tick wether we wanted refresh and replenish or just replenish, we chose just replenish) and the coffee mugs/cafetiere were not replenished. I didn't want to wash out the cafetiere in the bathroom sink. Water was refilled though.

Stayed frequently as location is great to explore area. Booked last minute that morning so had for a good price. Were given Orpington room as requested and staff attentive and friendly as always. Breakfast lovely.
Beds are comfy but realised other places tend to have bigger beds. Couldn’t have a bath as black mould/scum under plug so floating bits in water. Shame as otherwise great cleanliness.

From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing, so thoughtful, every single one. We ate at the hotel and the food was stunning. There was a live band which were fab, best night we have had in a long time, breakfast in the morning was the the icing on the cake. We would highly recommend and will definitely be returning
There is nothing not to like , from the food, to the staff and the accommodation. Everything is faultless.
