Some of the rooms are a bit small but everything works well and the beds were very comfortable. There is a warning in the room details that the floorboards creak significantly, and they do, but it wasn't a problem and we were not troubled. We had a double-bedded room at the back which had nice views over the fields. The couple we were with had one of the middle rooms which only had a window which looked over the roof. Excellent evening meals, brilliant breakfast, FANTASTIC STAFF. We thoroughly recommend it. If you like beer, and I do, they have Robinsons as it is owned by them and it is wonderful. Give up fizzy pi**y lager and drink real ale like Robinsons!

Friendly staffs. Good food. It was quieter than I thought, so nice.
The room had its own bathroom, which was good. But it was a bit strange that the toilet was in a separate little room from the shower with washbasin. And there wasn't even a basin in the toilet room, so you had to go all the way to the corner to the shower room to wash your hands... felt a little awkward. Other than that, everything was fine though! It seems only one room has separate toilet, others are normal as a toilet and shower in the same bathroom. Just a little inconveniece with that, but had a nice stay.

Very friendly greeting on arrival followed by very friendly staff all night, many thanks to them all for helping to make our night- three couples all met up FOR 1 night stay at the hotel/pub and had excellent meal and drinks. Value for money was exceptional and everyone had a very comfortable nights sleep. Room facilities were decent with hot shower and despite misgivings very comfortable bed, plus as was very bad weather and cold heating in room was great.
Minor gripe would be rooms little small and possibly need bit of updating but is an old building and for the money paid as said was brilliant value

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and practical, and had lovely character. I liked that it had hanging space and a kettle and tea/coffee in the room. The setting of the pub was great, with beautiful outside space and a welcoming area to eat and drink. The food was brilliant and the breakfast was lovely.
The twin room was quite small and there weren't any accessible plugs. We managed to find one but had to move the bed to get it. There was another one but I had to crawl on the floor under the dresser and unplug the kettle to use it. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great and the mattress was a bit lumpy.

Excellent breakfast with fast delivery. Evening meal was excellent too with lovely surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff
Rooms are a bit cramped, but ok for one night. Small double bed which is not good when used to a king, although very comfortable..Shower a bit fiddly. Tv no signal , until we worked out the ariel was unplugged. Put it in but very loose in socket and fell out when I plugged the hairdryer in. All electric sockets were behind or at the side of furniture, so difficult to find and access.

The breakfast was lovely. I had the vegetarian and my husband had the full English, both were delicious. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The bar area is lovely and comfortable. The room was clean and had the usual amenities, the bed was very comfortable.
The floors are uneven and creaky upstairs but this is to be expected in an old building and they do have a note in their file to state they are looking into upgrading the flooring. Having said that, even though we were near the door to the stairs it was not noisy when we were trying to sleep. There was no heating in the ensuite, which did make it very cold in there in the morning.

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay, its a beautiful, well presented building with calm cosy atmosphere, we were greeted with a warm welcome, the staff are lovely, the food is really nice & reasonable priced, the room was clean & the bed was so comfortable. It met all of our needs & we benefited from the side door as we had been to a wedding & only arrived back late, very well run establishment would definitely recommend ☺️

Location was perfect for where we were going the next day. Just a couple of miles from the canal at Banbury. Food was good, typical pub grub, excellent value for money. The England/Netherlands game was on the night we stayed and although the pub was buzzing with excitement, the noise from the tv area was not overly loud in our room.
Due to the age of the building the floorboards were exceptionally creaky, but the pub is aware of this and are putting in plans to get the flooring redone in the future.

Friendly, well run establishment. Perfect location for local kiddie Christmas events. Beautiful building with old world charm. I called 30 minutes before regular check in to ask if our room was ready and was invited in. Friendly phone manner :) The pub is tastefully decorated for Christmas and the log fire was burning at lunch time. Very welcoming! Help carrying bags and helpful clear information about exit and entry back in later through easy access doors. The room was clean, had everything we needed, TV and comfortable beds. Wooden hangers, kettle, tea, coffee and complimentary glass water bottles. The room is small but this is clearly advertised and for the price with breakfast included for 2 is a steal for a base to explore the area. Decent shower and liked the touch of a black flannel clearly left with a note that is to be used for makeup. The amount of times I've travelled and had to go through copious amounts of tissue/wipes to ensure to not transfer make up on white towels. Brilliant idea! We ended up staying in as an evening event was cancelled and my little one was tired. I asked if it would be possible for them to bring bar food up to our room. No hesitation and quickly produced with fresh ingredients. Minted lamb steak was a winner! Top service Breakfast was hot fresh and good quality. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Book this place with confidence 5*
I can't think of anything, very well run establishment! It is clearly stated in the information folder in the room that it's an old building. You will hear creaky floorboards with other guests entering and exiting rooms. This does not distract from a quality, well priced stay and did not affect our sleep/wake up. If you are noise sensitive bring earplugs so this lovely pub doesn't get any negative reviews it does not deserve!

We had a great stay at The Tollemache Arms. The check in by Lucy was friendly, informative and we were quickly shown to our room. The room was at the front of the building and although snug was suitable for a 2 night stay. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice from a Full English to toast and jams. We had booked a table for 8 for the Saturday evening to celebrate a 93rd birthday. The food and service was excellent with everyone having an enjoyable evening. Check out was quick and efficient, again, thanks to Lucy who made a very good front of house manager.
The breakfast area was a little cold and the grout in the shower needed replacing.
