Friendly check in, and good instructions. Loved the choosing your breakfast option. Comfortable beds, clean and room was very spacious. Also despite the main road location, the room was very quiet, and warm. Great lounge area, which was fabulous as we were travelling as a family group. Lovely tea and coffee making facilities, and my step son particularly appreciated the kit kat refill!!! Room was serviced as we stayed two nights, which was lovely. If you are looking for a stay with character rather than corporate nonsense, this is definitely the place for you. Just over a mile into Alsager on foot.

Really just the shower, it was ok and worked perfectly, but we are used to a very good shower at home, so no complaints, just merely an observation.

I booked this hotel to stay over for the Mastergroom dog grooming competion. At the last minute I had to bring an extra person with me. The M6 was closed in three places so our arrival at the show was massively delayed for set up and therefore our check in was also very late. Henry could NOT have been more accommodating. He found a put-up-bed for our extra staff member and brought up a tray with continental breakfasts and flasks of cold milk when he learned that on both mornings we'd have to be out of the hotel before breakfast. We were made to feel extremely welcome even though we must have been "nightmare" clients. I'd DEFINITELY book here again.

This is a quaint older style building. If you're looking for a brand new (souless) build you'll be disappointed. If you don't like staff who genuinely want to look after you you'll also be disappointed and if you don't like dogs be aware that there may be well-behaved pets staying.

A lovely older property that looks beautiful on approach via the entry to the car park at the front of the hotel. Spacious sitting room, bar and breakfast room, cosy bedroom with tea/coffee making facilities, TV, very comfortable bed and nice little ensuite bathroom/WC.

Only a small point as the hotel is lovely and the breakfast and service excellent - the shower was inoperative due to a leak from a faulty hose near the control unit and the hose fixing neck on the handset was larger than the socket on the holding bracket - as we arrived late in the evening for a social function nearby and were returning to the hotel in the early hours - we had showered at home before setting off and returned home the following morning where we could shower, so this was not a major problem and would be unfair to the owners to expect them to remedy the shower so late; had we arrived earlier and been staying longer then we would’ve addressed this - but we let the owners know the shower needed fixing prior to our departure and would certainly stay there again. 🙂

Great location for a family wedding at the golf and country club. Very welcoming, easy to find, easy check in. Very comfortable beds, quiet environment, tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast 11/10, really nice, good quality and service. Clean welcoming communal areas. No road noise.

2 small minor quibbles that wouldn't stop us staying again. Bedding smelt a little tiny bit musty like it wasn't quite dry when it was put away. Neighbours to room 9 were a bit noisy early in the morning, obviously owners have no control over other guests.

breakfast was perfect - ordered the night before and done exactly how we like it and served timely and hot and host very sociable We were only there 1 night visiting a sick friend so did not make use of the beautiful lounge or bar area

Pillows were not to our liking a bit on the hard side - suppose we could have asked if softer were available but only noticed on our return to the room quite late and did not want to disturb anyone.

We went with our dog. Henry was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we were allowed to take our dog to the breakfast dining room. Food was excellent. Location ideal, minutes from the motorway and a local dog friendly pub 5 minutes walk away. Good value for money, we'd definitely come back!

The bathroom window was stuck shut and the shower control was tricky to operate. Minor issues though!

The location was ideal for a stopover on the way north, being minutes from the M6. The owners were efficient and very welcoming, providing the answers to my questions (where to eat and walk the dog) before I’d asked them! Breakfast was very good and although they asked for choices the night before, it was also made clear that wasn’t essential. My room was clean and comfortable.

I cannot praise this hotel enough. We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 dogs. Our dogs were welcomed everywhere, even to sit with us at breakfast, which I must say is the best we have ever had anywhere we have stayed. The quality of the produce is second to none. The owners are friendly, accommodating and lovely down to earth people. For dog owners and non dog owners, this hotel is a little gem, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Fabulous.

The staff were fantastic- really friendly, helpful and flexible. The room was really tidy and clean and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Absolutely no complaints whatsoever however the showers could possibly do with being replaced. There was minimal water pressure when showering and the temperature regularly changed during the shower.

This Hotel is very basic but has all you would need We had a small double which was acceptable, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The whole place has had a refurb which is a vast improvement maybe just one or 2 minor let downs but , nothing that would not stop us from staying again. You cannot beat this Hotel for the price , and yes the breakfast was very good set you up for the day . Henry the host was most pleasant and very welcoming.

Nothing to dislike but maybe for a longer stay we would book a bigger room.
