First time staying in a HI Express, more usually staying in Premier Inns, but on this occasion the nearby PI (where we have stayed before) was significantly more expensive, so chose & tried HIE for the first time. Have to say that I was impressed, not just with the excellent price, but also with the quality of the product. Large comfortable double-bed, roomy & well fitted bathroom with walk-in shower & quality washing products provided. Parking beneath the hotel, & really convenient for central Crewe. Would recommend!

Nothing major ..... the usual wear & tear that one associates with this standard of high through-flow / turnaround hotel, such as the odd carpet stain, damaged window catch, temperamental air-con / heating unit, but nothing that is an issue for a cheap overnight stay.

Cleanliness was most apparent and when on leaving we saw two filipino room attendants which answered our question as in our experience they are exemplary in their work ethic. Very quiet so we slept very well on both nights! Breaky excellent value for money and good quality food.

First morning (easter sunday) breaky presentation left a little to be desired but on Monday noticeably more acceptable. Car Park tight!!

The room was lovely and clean and very comfy. We weren’t expecting housekeeping during our stay so that was a bonus.

The staff stood chatting while we waited to be served at the bar on the Friday afternoon. The dining area was filthy on the Sunday morning with food debris all over the floor and the chairs - and I mean all over! The other 2 days were fine.

Hotel is well maintained. The room was very comfortable with a large bed to stretch out on, and the ensuite clean. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful in answering questions. Superb buffet breakfast provided on a daily basis. This is the second time I've stayed at the hotel and will certainly book again when visiting family.

Minor point, but occasionally had to ask staff to replenish some breakfast items.

Staff were helpful and friendly, even when I was silly enough to lose my key card and needed a new one (felt reassured that they checked my details when issuing me a new one as well). Breakfast was also great, not a massive hall but also not too busy so it was nice, and the food tasted good.

Only negative I have is that one of the lamps in my room didn't work, so it wasn't as bright as I'd have like when I turned the 'big light' off. Not really an issue though as it was still light enough with the one lamp on.

Room was surprisingly big and had a lovely, sleek bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. Staff were helpful and friendly. I think it's one of the best budget hotels I've stayed at.

Little to criticise. However, I think pedestrian access to the hotel is very poor and should be redesigned. It's very difficult to pick a safe route to the hotel entrance. Pavements are notable by their absence, and pedestrians are forced to dodge cars. It's a shame such a good hotel is let down by this.

The staff was very helpful the rooms was clean and pleasant, close to town centre and shopping?? If in area would stop again?

Not enough staff around at breakfast as items ran out, we had to wait for the staff to come and replace? The staff when there was very helpful? And the air con in the rooms didn't work so was a little warm in the room??

We had a nice end of corridor room as requested for quietness although Hotel was a little noisier than some others at this price range we have visited. The bed was very comfortable, had desk and chair plus one small corner unit to sit on for one. We left car all day securely for £4. Very close to Railway Station which we used next day, 5/6 minutes away.

Bathroom OK but getting a little bit tired. Hotel a bit noisier than we hoped, don't expect queaky floorboards in newer more modern insulated Hotels these days. Secure parking area quite cramped at back of Hotel and one way system out at end of Hotel quite restricted to get around.

Nothing...

Breakfast was bland and unimaginative. There were no tomatoes, mushrooms or lettuce. The bread was often stale and uninteresting, and the coffee left much to be desired...

The room was great including walk in shower

Just let down by chaos at breakfast, virtually all the hot food had gone and this was with 30 mins of breakfast left. Cereals, yoghurt had not been replenished, also the only available drinking materials were paper cups for both fruit juice and hot drinks, staff said that they had a lot of people down at once, but surely you know how many people are staying per night and cater accordingly.
