The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast could be better. Everything was self-serve and wasn't replenished very quickly on the first day of our stay. Coffee and tea machines are not in the breakfast room but in an area just outside.

Our third stay at the De Vere Cranage Estate, solid on quality and competitive on prices too. At first glance seems secluded and tranquil, then car parks start quickly filling up with arriving cars, but it doesn't feel crowded, guests can relax while everything around is happening at its own pace, well arranged and organised. Amazing experience.
Being woken up at 12:00pm by a cleaner when we paid extra to check-out at 14:00. We arrived late the previous night and had a busy day and long drive ahead of us on the following day. I wish the information that the guest are staying longer in the room was passed on to the cleaning team so we would not be disturbed.

The hotel is set in really beautiful grounds & has lovely places to sit & relax both inside & outside. Our room was nice & clean & was spacious though was a long walk from reception. We loved the swimming pool with jacuzzi. Had a really relaxing afternoon there. The leisure facilities are lovely.
Breakfast was chaotic & on arrival most tables were cluttered with dirty plates & cups etc. The buffet breakfast wasn’t replenished in a timely manner so I was left stood with half a cooked breakfast going cold whilst other items were stocked up. The hotel wasn’t particularly busy so I can’t imagine what it would be like if full. Also seemed a strange system to go out into the corridor for hot drinks. In future, I will stay at the hotel on a room only basis & go for a leisurely breakfast in Holmes Chapel as the hotel was beautiful but my experience of breakfast was poor. All great at the hotel otherwise, but breakfast was a big let down & not a relaxing start to the day.

The location was country side beauty. Small village of Cranage. Supplies at shops were only a mile away at Holmes Chapel. The parking was excellent. Plenty of parking. The estate is huge. Rooms clean, foyer and adjoining sitting rooms were very beautiful yet I paid about 140 or so pounds for 2 nites. Double room. Exceptional value for money. Aside from the stately estate and grandeur feeling..the best part was a super comfortable firm bed. The pillows and the doona were quality compared to some of the other places I stayed at on my UK trip. This was class..and very affordable. I enjoyed it. The front desk staff were very friendly. I don't know about the room cleaning staff as I didn't get my room made up for the 2 nites I stayed. They were smiley and said hello though Very good experience. I'd recommend people to stay here.
Nothing.

Comfortable double room overlooking some of the extensive grounds. I don't like showers placed over the bath but that is what most hotels seem to opt for. Breakfast was included in my room price and it certainly is worth popping down to the restaurant, but Cranage is used by companies for away-days, meetings etc and it is worth noting an advisory sign in the hallway which indicates when the restaurant is quiet and when it might be expected to be busier. That said, there was no big rush when I ate and there were plenty of options to chose from. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Reception is right in front of the main doors and at the time I was booking in so were many other people, so many that they stood in the doorway waiting until the queue moved. Booking in didn't didn't seem a very quick process. The bedroom did not have the usual information one might expect to find and instead a "Q" code had to be scanned, for example to find out breakfast times. My 'phone didn't cope with that, but, now I am home I know when breakfast was served!

I liked in fact we both liked the first impression which was the lovely Sarah, (who I'd chatted to on the phone as we drove up from Eastbourne to tell her we might be late due to traffic) at Reception who immediately sorted a beautiful room overlooking the park with bath. Sarah was the first impression of Cranage and even found out where the hotels amazing vases came from for me. Then the room allocated to us was clean warm welcoming - we always judge our hotel stays by the bathroom/bedroom. We were not disappointed. Wonderful. Then the third impression we got was when with our daughter and son in law we went to the bar then on to dinner. We were attended to by Abbie who is new to.the hotel.and in Management training - another wonderful caring and attentive but not obsequious member of staff. Having heard I was up for my birthday she got a special.desert for me with Happy Birthday in it. Friendly and thoughtful especially when the next day I'd been given flowers and Abbie got me a wine cooler to put them in. The Hpusekerping staff in particular a delightful young man, Chinese I think who waited patiently for me to finish in my room before he came to spruce the room up. Wonderful smile. Also the Polish lady housekeeper who was sorting out our room the next day when I duddenly rushed back to grab domething and I was able to.thank her in person and other staff members for looking after everything so beautifully. The leisure club manager who allowed us to bring in our youngest, who we'd just picked up.from.Manchester airport and whose luggage was still in Brisbane! Our Meg who.was allowed to.come in and swim.and have a jacuzzi (thank heavens I had spares of everything. PH and finally last but not least George also.on Reception who was just a total.delight and gave us a late checkout as There wasn't a single person in the gorgeous Cranage Estate that didn't make us feel.at home and welcome over our three nights.
Even the long walk to and from the bedroom or the leisure club or dining room was a health benefit! So no.complaints.

Staff excelled and went out of their way to make you happy, from reception to mealtimes. Main evening meal was fairly expensive but definitely worth the price, very enjoyable. Room/bed was very comfortable with everything we needed to meet our needs. The building was set within very nice grounds with the added bonus of access to a gym/pool/sauna if required.
Shower over bath with curtain that stuck to the body when used. Would have preferred to be in the main building rather than the annexe, would request that for any future stay. Buffet breakfast hit and miss with the cooked food, otherwise plenty of choices.

Lovely clean fresh room
Not great on direction around the hotel, corridors a little confusing. Did ask for my elderly father to be shown to his room as he left family function by taxi: The guy on reception said he could do this when my son asked on the phone before we put him in taxi . The reception guy explained to my Dad where his room was and it was quicker for him to walk around, the outside of the property. This was at 10.45 pm Luckily he made it safely. We did mention it to reception staff the following morning who apologised and said they would follow this up.

The hotel and setting are wonderful. The bedroom was spacious and spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast was varied with a choice of hot English breakfast or cereal/yogurt (or both.) Our dog was welcome anywhere except the restaurant so we had our meals in the bar area where there are plenty of tables to choose from. There are acres of well kept grounds to walk the dog. The leisure facilities were very good with a big gym. The pool was big enough to have a good swim with one lane roped off for fast swimmers. The jacuzzi was warm and the steam room and sauna even warmer. The staff were all very professional and friendly which is always appreciated.
Nothing to dislike.

I liked the rooms, good size, plenty of drawers, which on an overnight stay is not so important but appreciated the fact they were there. Good WiFi, lovely bathroom with Penhaligon toietries and good towels. Great breakfast. All good. We had an enjoyable dinner in the restaurant on our first visit
I am sorry to say that we weren't so happy with the Bar meals on our second stay. Not as good a choice as I would have expected and service was very slow. I appreciate that it is a very difficult time in the service industry and made allowances for that but we did have to ask about when our meal was coming. Others who arrived after us were served before.
