As we asked for a twin room I think the only one available had a wet room. This is not really very good as all the floor gets wet when the shower is used but we managed. The cooked breakfast is very good and the scrambled egg was perfect. My husband found the cold breakfast options a little boring. I would have liked some fresh croissants, but that is just my personal preference. We were at the front of the hotel which has quite a lot of traffic passing, but the slight noise from it did not bother us. The staff are very pleasant and polite and everywhere is spotless. Beds are very comfortable. We found this was a very good base for visiting the gardens we wanted to see in this area, such as Biddulph grange and Trentham estate. There is a nice garden at the back of the hotel and a covered seating area.

No drawers in our room which made storage a little difficult.

Everything was good but not quite “excellent”. It wouldn’t have taken much to make it really good.

The hotel lets itself down by skimping on the toiletries and catering. We had two tiny bottles of unknown brand shower/hair liquid and a small soap. Why not ask a local supplier to provide NICE products? Use refillable dispensers to avoid theft and cut waste. Tea/coffee options were lowest price, as were the one packet of biscuits (from Cost-Co?). Sadly, although the breakfast was cooked nicely the other options were from the 1970s - dusty tired cereals and weird additive-heavy lemon yogurt. I bet there is a local dairy that could supply much better and give the place a proper local welcome. That said, the room was great and the staff were lovely so we may well revisit. Hope you read my thoughts and push the boat out a teeny bit further.

The breakfast was wonderful, all freshly cooked top quality produce which was beautifully presented. The hotel was immaculate in every area with caring attention paid to every little detail throughout. Beautifully decorated with modern, comfy lounge/ bar area. Our bedroom was large and bright with nice fresh modern decor. The staff could not have been more polite or helpful. The grounds were well maintained and there was ample parking. A gem of a hotel which I wholly recommend.

I love the homely warmth that hosts Andy and Marcio greet guests with. The hotel is stylish and impeccably clean. Rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated. It's a hotel that gives you a hug. Nothing is too much trouble. The gardens are beautifully maintained, mirroring the attention to detail given to the interior. Breakfasts are delicious, with good quality, local produce used.

There was nothing that I didn't like - except perhaps for sharing this gem with others. I'd be gutted if I couldn't get a reservation there.

This is a characterful hotel with a stylishly decorated interior and beautifully tended gardens. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The cooked breakfasts were delicious as was the cold option of ham and cheese. We didn’t have the opportunity to have afternoon tea in the cafe, but hope to do so on a return visit. The location was excellent for visiting family and attractions in the area.

There was some traffic noise at the front of the building and our shower area was quite small.

Fantastic 'mine host' on arrival, chatty and enthusiastic about our stay and what awaits us. The decor overall in every room we saw was well planned with lots of 'wow factor'. We had been reserved a table for breakfast over looking the garden which was great . The cooked breakfast was hearty and plentiful, many different options and with plenty of fresh coffee, tea and toast.

There was nothing not to like. Currently no evening meal service but plenty around the area to choose from.

The hosts were amazing, I had never seen a hotel so clean, even down to the smell inside the hotel ,The public toilets inside the hotel were like home from home ,Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced ,The seating area out the back was fantastic, The room was the perfect size ,Had a great sleep also.The cost of the room was well priced.I will stay again when I'm in the area Highly recommended

The place was beautiful & spotlessly clean. We were greeted by a very nice & friendly gentleman who showed us to our room. The room was bright, clean & spacious. Very well decorated. We had a comfortable sleep. The location was great for us.

We are use to a memory foam mattress at home, so we were a little disappointed that the mattress did not have a memory foam topper.

Everything. The hotel was so clean and very comfortable. It was quiet. The decor everywhere was just lovely. The staff were so helpful and so kind, nothing was too much trouble. The beds were very comfortable and the bed linen was fresh and crisp. Can’t think of anything negative to say. Would definitely return if visiting the area in the future.
