The hotel room was excellent, very clean and comfortable and also the size of the room was very good for two people, we had everything we needed. Staff was exceptionally nice. The owner was very kind and helped us with everything we needed. He made us feel very comfortable like all the other staff. Very clean and nice hotel. Moreover the location is very good as its near some interesting and beautiful places to visit. The residents in the area are also very friendly as well. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Just returned from a stay at the Royal Oak, what a fabulous set up. Cute little cottage vibes upstairs where the rooms were. Very clean, comfortable and private. The bed was plush, so comfortable and the room was furnished so homely. Little added extras which made the stay welcoming; attentive owner who showed us around and made us feel at home, nice little tea/coffee station in the room, towels and wash kit. It was a shame we only stayed one night! The location was great, easy to find, close to shops and perfect for us who were guests at a wedding close by (6 miles away)

Large, clean, well furnished en suite bedroom. Cupboard with automatic light with the kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits. Little fridge with small milk and room for our own food. Room 3 with firm twin beds and single duvets. Blackout curtains. Large, clean shower room. Sumptuous carpet and towels. Lovely friendly pub downstairs. Quiet with window closed in January. Secure entrances into pub or onto street. Food available very nearby including breakfast oatcakes and Spoons! Biddulph is definitely worth a weekend or midweek break and this place is right in the middle (some shops closed on Wednesdays).
Flight of stairs up to rooms are slightly steep and narrow. Ok for us in our 50s but may be difficult for less mobile. Mattress toppers would be welcome and larger duvets. Will definitely stay again.

Absolutely great! Comfy room on the first floor of an excellent pub. Big comfy bed, soft pillows. Spacious shower room, fluffy towels. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Small carpark with free parking. Tea/coffee facilities (with fridge!), and fresh milk was provided, which was very welcome!!
The stairs are a bit steep - although not a problem as it's a single flight of stairs. No food available - but plenty of places to eat locally, both for breakfast and later in the day. So everything was great, thanks!!

Rooms were nicely decorated and exceptionally clean. Lots of towels, tea and coffee etc. Steve was really friendly and chatty as were all the staff. There was live music (weekend) which we enjoyed but something to consider if you wanted to go to bed early (which we didn’t). Central location in Biddulph, couldn’t fault it.
Couldn’t really fault it but wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with mobility problems as the stairs were very steep.

Staff friendly room very good
When we arrived the owner/ manager told us that there was going to be a live band. He said it would finish at 11 and we wouldn’t really hear it. Wrong. It went on past 11 and was so noisy. Also we had a fire alarm we got down the stairs and the band was still playing they hadn’t heard it. Luckily it was a false alarm. Next morning he apologised for the alarm and hope the band was ok we said no and he should have told us before we came about the live music. If we had known we would have cancelled.

The room was very clean and comfortable. A hot day and they had left a window open for our arrival. A small fridge meant we had fresh milk. Which is always a bonus. No mention on the site that a hairdryer would be supplied but there was one. Plenty of sockets, drawers, hanging space in a cupboard and storage space. The fridge with tea coffee was also in a cupboard which meant no fridge noise

This is a well situated, friendly pub with excellent rooms. The rooms are large, modern, clean and well stocked. Very large bathroom with lots of large towels. It was quiet, despite being in town centre. There was parking.
We hadn't realised there was no food available at the pub. In the end it didn't matter too much. There was a great Indian restaurant about 200 yards away. No breakfast was more of a problem - although very good tea and coffee making facilities. Lots of pubs we stay at do provide a small continental breakfast in a bag, not sure if the Royal Oak had thought of that. Very steep stairs to first floor - take small overnight bag

This is only the second time that I have stayed in the Royal Oak but I was welcomed by Steve and his staff as though I was a regular. They remembered the reason for my last stay and were genuinely interested in me as a person. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. The choice of beers at the bar was fantastic. I will definitely stay at the Royal Oak whenever I am in the area.
If they did food, all the better but I knew that they don't and there are plenty of options very near the hotel.

When we arrived we discovered after a 3 hour drive that the car park was not available due to England game .I feel it would have been courteous if someone had sent a message to that effect as we spent extra time looking for parking. It is one thing I always check when booking accommodation. Despite this the staff were very nice and rooms very comfortable
