Lovely location on the highstreet, easy to walk around in the local area. The room was SO beautiful, really comfortable and stylish. LOVELY food and the staff were so helpful and friendly.

Only two very tiny things. The extractor in the bathroom had a light on it which I could see through the window. Needed to stand on a chair to turn it off. And at breakfast my meal came with an ingredient that wasn't highlighted on the menu. But they remade for me very quickly and without issue which I VERY much appreciated. So no real issues at all!

I had a really lovely stay at BOHOTEL. The room was full of eccentric and unique décor that gave it loads of character — definitely not your typical hotel vibe. The bed was huge and super comfy, and I loved that I could open the windows safely to get some fresh air. I slept really well, which is always a win. The bathroom was a real highlight — it had a deep, claw-foot roll-top tub and a separate shower. It felt luxurious and a bit quirky, which made the whole experience feel special. The place was very clean overall, and although there was a bit of minor wear and tear, it actually added to the charm rather than taking anything away. Location-wise, it was spot on. There’s a bar and snack food downstairs which was really convenient. The place was buzzing but I was directed to a table quickly, and the food was something a bit different — really tasty. The high-seat chairs weren’t the comfiest, but they fit with the quirky, boho feel of the place so I didn’t mind too much. Communication was excellent throughout — really easy and responsive, which made everything feel smooth from start to finish.

The only small downside was having to dig around for plug sockets — not a big deal, but a bit fiddly. All in all, BOHOTEL is full of personality and charm. It’s a great spot if you want somewhere with a bit of character and a more boutique feel. I’d definitely stay again.

The location was perfect for us - we arrived by train and were then based in the town centre for our stay - visiting friends etc. Check in was easy, bed was comfortable, room had everything we needed - I liked the soap and the little tea tray items. Host's messages were lovely and we felt we'd be looked after if we needed anything. We didn't try the restaurant or bar downstairs as we had plans to meet friends nearby but it looked nice and staff were friendly.

As other guests have said, you can hear the bar downstairs but that didn't worry us as we were out at a party until late. There were ear plugs provided if needed.

We didn't really know much about this Hotel before we arrived so were pleasantly surprised about the room, particularly its size! The owner has gone to a lot of trouble to decorate it & provide all comforts. The room & bathroom were clean & the bed was very comfortable. There's a lovely bar / restaurant underneath that seems to be extremely popular. They had a DJ on while we were there but that stopped at 8pm so wasn't an issue - after that we heard no noise at all. It's right in the middle of Macclesfield and we were lucky enough to be there when the monthly markets were on. The markets are full of food places, artists & craftsman. Parking is in a parking area around the corner. We met the owner by chance at a separate location, she could see we were a bit lost & went out of her way to stop & offer help. It was only by chatting for a short while that we found out she owned the Hotel we were staying in. Such a lovely lady!

Great location, it's in a very nice part of the town, not far from the centre and near some great eateries. Entry was through the Suburban Green Restaurant with keypads on the doors, full and clear instructions were emailed. We stayed in room 1 which is a Victorian styled room with a free standing bath, room was clean, roomy and spot on and definitely recommend going for the breakfast included option as the one we had at Suburban Green was excellent. There is also a fantastic Tapas place just down the road.

Really enjoyed the stay, ear plugs are provided presumably as it is directly above the resto/bar below. But even though it was a Saturday night we didn't find the noise from below or the street that intrusive as the bar didn't stay open that late, there is a takeaway place over the road so a little bit of noise from that. The room is quite dark due to the theme, there are quite a few lamps and lights though. The only suggestion I would have would be maybe a couple of bedside cabinets instead of the tables to provide some draw space for clothing, as there are a lot of tables in the room anyway. Whether this was a conscious choice or due to the availability of themed furniture I'm not sure, that would be my only niggle still 10 out of 10 for me.

Our son and I liked everything about Bohotel. I/we can't recommend Bohotel enthusiastically enough. The rooms were awesome (clean, sizable, comfortable), the location was perfect, the value way, WAY exceeded the cost, the food at the restaurant downstairs was incredible and the staff felt like friends. Special shout-out to Sharon, the only thing more predictable when seeing Sharon than Sharon offering to help first thing was the smile with which we were greeted. This place felt like home :) If you're planning on staying in Macclesfield this is simply your best bet.

We liked everything about Bohotel. No exceptions whatsoever. Every request/question we had was met with an earnest desire to help - quickly. Every accommodation was spot-on. And the people at Bohotel were the stand-outs.

What's not to like! We arrived 3 hours early and from the moment we messaged Laura and Bohotel to request an early check-in to the hours after we checked out we were treated as lifelong, dear friends. No exaggeration, no paid review. The Bohotel's accommodations exceeded every expectation we had - the rooms were spacious and clean, wifi was accessible, reliable and fast, the food was top tier, life stuff/questions which came up over the course of our stay were addressed and resolved immediately - but it was the people that made it perfect. Laura, Sharon, Isaac - absolutely everyone associated with Bohotel, Suburban Green (the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel) - treated us like friends who also happen to be hospitality professionals passionate about their vocation as hospitality professionals. I don't often write these reviews but this is an exception I'm delighted to make. The review writes itself. I can't recommend Bohotel more enthusiastically.

Literally nothing. I've traveled a lot, in the US, in Europe and in Asia. I've stayed in rough places, middle of the road places and I've stayed in top shelf brand locations (and paid for it). Assuming you're not already grumpy about something which has nothing to do with this property and its people this is by far the best choice in Macclesfield (maybe Manchester, who knows..)

The food in the below restaurant/bar was lovely. Host fantastic. Room excellent. We were offered an upgrade to the honeymoon suite and it was well worth it! Couldn't recommend it enough. Sent all my friends photos! Great trip away. There were extra things should you need in a quirky little spot of the hallway in suitcases. The host was always available should you need anything. I recommend reading your emails once you book as there's lots of info on there which we didn't see from not checking our emails but all the info is also provided in the room. Easy check in and check out process.

Robes and slip on slippers for the honeymoon suite would have just added that little bit extra with there being a bath in the room. The noise of the main road is to be expected at times with it being a main high street with cars and buses passing but there's not much that could be done and ear plugs were provided. This is a town location

The owner, Laura really invested in communications before I arrived. She discussed my requirements and switched me to the best room for me (I'm very tall). She was available to support the whole way through my stay-really helpful. Also worth mentioning, the rooms are really special, they're all very beautifully furnished with antiques etc, and are warm and comfy with all the bits and pieces you'd expect from a quality boutique hotel:-) Worth noting the hotel is above a wine bar/restaurant. When I checked in I was little worried to find ear-plugs on the bed-side table. In the end, this wasn't a problem at all, but if you go to bed early (before 10pm) then this may not be the hotel for you.

I had a lovely experience in Room 6, the attic room. It's quirky yet tastefully decorated, with a warm atmosphere perfect for a February stay. The bed was incredibly soft but still offered great support, and the heavy weighted duvet and an abundance of cushions made it extra cozy. The location is ideal – right in the historic part of Macclesfield, with plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants just a stone's throw away. The cafe bar on the ground floor looks lovely (although I didn’t get a chance to try the food or drinks this time, I’ll definitely do so next visit). Overall, a great stay! I’ll certainly return and explore more of the cafe offerings next time.

There is no reception. Self check-in felt a bit like Airbnb, but the staff I spoke with in the cafe was super friendly and helpful when I arrived. One thing to note: the en suite bathroom is tiny, tucked into the eaves of the building. As someone who's 162cm tall with a slim build, it was fine for me, but if you're on the taller side, Room 6 might feel cramped.
