Amazing hotel and spa. I felt like a queen. The views, the forest, the room... I like that in the corridors there are historic pictures of the building and it tells you its story. Breakfast had a lot of options. The check-out time is perfect (11am), so you're not in a hurry after breakfast.

The floor in the spa could be more clean, also the floor of the pool. There was so much noise in the corridors. My room was next to one of the corridor's doors and you could hear every conversation. People are not very quiet either on a Saturday night. The check-in is too late (3pm)

The overall hotel was very pretty with an amazing grand stairway. The larger, more expensive “Deluxe Double” room (as opposed to the smaller, cheaper “Deluxe Double” (?)) was nice and roomy with a couch and view of the golf course. The breakfast was great too. The attached (but somehow unaffiliated) golf course is not to be missed - really pretty and challenging for the 40 pound fee.

The step over shower in the bathtub was borderline dangerous and slippery. Limited parking in the front of the hotel required parking in the large, but far away, parking lot in the rear.

I was there for my daughter's wedding. The hotel was lovely and the staff pleasant. The wedding was amazing and ran like clockwork. Could not have asked for anything better and even though the weather was atrocious Shrigley were more than able to cope. Aside from the wedding our general experience of the hotel from breakfast (which was excellent) and dinner was great. Room was large and comfortable. Bridal suit was gorgeous.

We needed a disabled access room for one of our guests in a wheel chair and the bathroom was disappointing. Maybe consider putting a wet room and shower in the disabled rooms.

The property is absolutely gorgeous! It’s set in a very tranquil and peaceful part of the world. The views from the front of Shrigley Hall are incredible. We booked the sunrise spa session and it was very good value for money as we only paid £15 for 2 hour access to the pools/sauna/steam room etc. We spent most of the time in the heated outdoor pool watching the sunrise. We also booked dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The breakfast buffet was brilliant - good quality bacon and sausage, as well as a wide variety of breakfast options (pastries/cereals/yogurts etc). I would definitely stay here again.

The main issue we had was the temperature of the room. When we initially walked in the room was absolutely boiling. We did try and turn the radiators down and open the windows which did make a slight difference, but the temperature of the room did disturb our sleep as we were up every few hours sweating. I also think the rooms could do with some TLC, but we booked one of the cheaper rooms so we didn’t expect anything grand.

Staying at Shrigley Hall was very special for us as the village we are from in Northern Ireland was named after Shrigley Hall. The location is great. Setting is absolutely stunning . The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. We had fun exploring Manchester, Chester and surrounding areas. We didn’t pay to use the Spa but from what we saw it looked amazing. Thanks

There was nothing I didn’t like at all as we have to remember we are staying in a manor house that was built in 1825 . The room we stayed in was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.

So, we booked a double and a twin room at the last minute. When we got there on Wednesday, the hotel was really quiet. I cheekily asked for an upgrade, and the nice young man at the reception gave us a front-facing room. It was room 107, which had been recently refurbished. We asked about the spa, but it wasn't included. We booked the Twilight sessions, which were cheaper than the afternoon or morning. I also booked a massage for my back, neck, and shoulder. My therapist, Jena, was really friendly and gave me great treatment. I still feel relaxed and refreshed. The outdoor pool is the best part. The water is warm, and the views are amazing. I can imagine it gets really busy in the summer. We had dinner in the restaurant. All the staff were really friendly. The food was great that night and also at breakfast the next day. The grounds were beautiful, and if you like golf, this is the place to be. We didn't use the gym, so I can't say anything about it. Parking was free, which was a bonus. There are signs about refurbishment, and some places could do with some upgrades. We're definitely going to come back in the summer. I highly recommend it.

It could be nice to have a proper coffee machine. It's common in most of the hotel these days.

Overall very good value. Spa is lovely and room was good.

Felt that they were cost cutting on breakfast. Parts of hotel bit scruffy near back entrance. Grass would look better cut between rooms at rear. Little chances could really improve it.

The relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff made our 3 day stay feel so comfortable. The grounds are amazing, and the walk through the forest was delightful. Seeing the peacocks with their babies wandering around was a wonderful experience. The food was great. Breakfast was excellent. One rooms had been upgraded, and mine was palatial with great views. I didn't use the spa facilities, but my daughter did, and she said they were excellent.

I think the room could have been a little cleaner. There was dust on the top of and inside the wardrobe. As rooms are not serviced until after three days, then a toilet brush in the bathroom might be a good idea.

Beautiful setting and building and grounds

Ease of access to rooms and facilities was difficult for elderly/people with mobility difficulties very sprawling building although there was a lift long access to rooms was still with with small sets of stairs everywhere with no offer of taking luggage to room Access to spa facilities means exiting hotel and would be impossible for elderly or people unable to walk a distance no facilities to charge anything to room everything was paid for individually a bit unusual these days. Restaurant had quite a limited menu and no other eating facilities.

On arrival we were told that we had been given an upgraded room at no extra charge! Everything was perfect. Treats in the room for us, loads of space and huge comfy bed. Spa was absolutely gorgeous. Heated pool outside was to die for, then indoor pool was a great warm temperature, it was so relaxing to dip in and out and relax with plenty of time given. We had the sunrise package 7-9am it was such value for money!

Everything was perfect for us, couldn’t fault our stay it was much better than what we expected 10/10
