My fifth visit for six nights, everything was perfect. Luther King House is set in its own lovely grounds, has a residents car park, and is very quiet at night. Martin and James in the breakfast room give exceptional, friendly service with lots of local information. Great location for Manchester Airport, Curry Mile, and City Centre. The hotel is served by three nearby night buses, which are very helpful for a late night out in the city. Highly recommended for travellers on a budget who want value for money and a lovely atmosphere.

Good single rooms for solo traveller. Welcoming staff. Comfortable lounge. Amazing choice of breakfast dishes. Quiet, yet close to public transport for city centre. I stay here frequently; it never lets me down.
Better lighting in bedroom for reading would help.

I visit Manchester regularly for work and normally stay in the Travel Lodge in Ancoats. However, parking has become much harder and I am working to a tight budget so looked around for alternatives and found Luther King House. I suited my purposes perfectly. Free parking and free breakfast were both a real boon, and the easy walk into central Manchester (through the area where I used to go to school many years ago) was both convenient and exciting. I had meetings and events over three days in central Manchester, The Wirral and Chester, and the location of LKC was perfect. Finally, I loved the central courtyard - a great space to sit and reflect each morning.
I realize that this is not intended as luxury accommodation and although the room / bed were very comfortable, some upgrading would be helpful (especially electrical fittings and the shower. However these are minor issues in the whole scheme of things.

I loved the location and how they have little cards that tell you what buses run into the city centre. The continental breakfast was spectacular and I loved how they had a range of herbal teas, the chef was super friendly and gave us a map with detailed info on attractions in Manchester.
Bathroom door didn't close right which was a bit awkward and very thin walls thought I suppose there's not much you can do about that, the girl at the front desk was very different in attitude from the rest of the staff, she was a bit rude and standoffish when we were checking in.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was simple but very cozy, offering the perfect setting for a restful night’s sleep – I slept wonderfully. What stood out the most was the incredibly friendly staff, who were always helpful and attentive. The breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of high-quality options that left nothing to be desired. Additionally, the public transport connections were excellent, making it easy and convenient to get anywhere. I will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel!
A bit old fashioned - but that’s okay

The breakfast was superb and the staff were friendly and always ready to help. The location wasn’t bad….not too far from the airport and connecting to the coach station and bus usage.
The was lock of fan or air conditioning in the room…..a little thing as a fan made the stay uncomfortable. The only option available was opening up the entire window to get fresh air inside the room. However, upon opening up the window…..I invited flies inside the room which made me so restless and uncomfortable to sleep. Kindly take note and get at least a fan inside the room even if it means adding up to the room rate. If possible a small size fridge and microwave won’t be bad either. If not any of these…..the fan is most important. Thank you.

Booked here for the Manchester marathon weekend. I must admit that for the price I paid, I wasn't expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised the rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel it's self was just under a miles walk from local shops, pubs, restaurants which was ideal if you wanted to stay local, and there was a bus stop about 2 - 3 hundred yards away from the hotel where you could get I believe a choice of 4 buses to the city centre. (Hotel had handy little printouts of what buses to get and were from available at reception, which was good, I thought) Taxis to and from the city centre were roughly £8 - £9. Breakfast was also included in the price and was continental with plenty of choice. The kitchen staff were also very pleasant. My overall experience was brilliant for the price, and I would happily stay here again. I'll be honest if I was going away with my partner I would probably stay somewhere more central and more modern, but with that said luther King house is by no means a bad place to stay if your on a tight budget and are happy with just the basics.

The location provided us with secure onsite parking and on arrival we were greeted by such a lovely receptionist. That level of kindness remained throughout our stay as all the staff were just lovely. The whole building was amazing, the quad was gorgeous even on a wet day! Our room was basic but had all we needed. The wifi was fast and the relaxing bar area was just that - relaxing and comfortable. We walked into the city centre, the walk was so interesting, safe and doable. We took a bus back which was super easy. NB for travelers, for ease, avoid the 41 as it just isn't as straight forward as the other buses! The breakfast was so generous, so fresh and a real treat. We will certainly be coming back here to stay next time we go to Manchester. It's a real find!
We didn't dislike anything. All the reviews were accurate and so we knew what to expect. We had everything we needed, nothing was missing, everything was easy including check in and out, so there was nothing that we felt was missing!

Vintage feeling hotel with cozy vibes and an mazing garden. We took a twin room with en-suite bathroom. It was comfortable and had all the necessities we needed. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful with every request. They even arranged an early breakfast for us at 4:00 since we were fasting and had to eat before dawn. We were so grateful for that. Another great point about this place is the amazing library which has a significant a mount of theology, philosophy and linguistics books. It makes an amazing and quiet work space as well with computers and free printing.
The rooms feel quite old if you’re in to that style. The bathroom needs some updating.

Love staying at this tranquil place. The webpage is at pains to point out the basic nature of their facilities but actually I see that as a strength. Tends to lead to a chilled out clientele and peaceful stay. Sunday was sunny and we sat and chatted in the courtyard among the blossoms. Hadn't planned that as part of the stay but it was lovely.
The shower was a bit of a non event and could barely manage a trickle of water, I was thankful of the bath option. At 2.00am some drunk football fan decided my room was his and banged on my door until I got up to point out that this was block 3 not 4. Having said that, not exactly the accommodation's fault!
