Helpful and very nice staff especially in reception, also the rooms were spacious and comfortable

The air-conditioning was excellent, had no problem coping with heat over 30 c . The reception staff are very professional. Location excellent for transport links to co-op live with in 12 minutes work to the 02 Apollo. Bus tram and train very short walk from hotel.

A smell by the lift area smelt like an old age care home. I don't know if it was the plumbing with the toilets being near the lift area. I would make it a number one priority to get sorted as it put us off using the restaurant facilities. My wife works for Durham county council environmental services department it's normally a quick fix . She says the last thing you need is the council environmental services poking around because it is hard to get them off your back. Other than that excellent

Spacious and comfortable room, nice staff, blackout curtains, soundproofing. Delicious breakfast. Very nice lounge by the reception - The Great Room - with several beers on tap and even a selection of late-night food. All staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent spot for a business trip or a concert in Apollo which is a 10 minute walk away.

The spa area was underwhelming - charging us extra fee, with only one sauna working, and several discarded towels, robes and slippers lying around. This was however the only downside, the general experience was positive.

The concierge and receptionist were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The hotel is conveniently situated near to Piccadilly station. It is super clean, bright and modern. Our room was spacious, beautifully clean with ample pillows. The bathroom was immaculate with a large, deep bath that was quick to fill and great for a soak and a large walk in shower. There were plenty of towels and spare towels in the wardrobe. The breakfast had a good range of items, hot and cold. The staff were helpful, friendly and quick to clear up where needed. We used the spa which was very reasonably priced and we felt so relaxed and refreshed afterwards.

I would perhaps have liked a dressing table but I'm being picky.

The lifts not working on the day of departure especially as I have mobility problems it really made me feel unwell having to navigate the stairs , if it hadn't been for my grandson I would have found it impossible to manage the stairs with my stick and a case . The other thing that surprised me when I decided to have a drink in the bar before bed I asked the barman for a bottle of water but was curtly told they had none, which was a surprise , no water in Manchester, yet the next day checking out the receptionist seeing how bad I was after coming down the stairs gave us both a can of water, the barman never even offered a glass of water which struck me as odd because all hotels usually can manage some water

The room was spacious and very comfortable, clean too. The shower was amazing. The location...we could literally see the train platform from our room from picadilly. We arrived early, and they managed to arrange a room available and accommodated us with discount at bar while we waited. The staff were very helpful and nothing wasn't too much to ask. We would stay again.

The lifts were very busy at certain times of the day but that's normal for a large hotel. Would have been good to have chrome on tv so we could upload apps. But that's very small things to pick at, overall fantastic accommodation and highly recommend.

Superb from start to finish. At check-in, the gentleman was super friendly and enquired about our journey. When we explained that we had flown from Jersey to Manchester just for one night to see a comedy show, and had a rare child-free night off, he upgraded us to a Junior Suite and gave us a voucher for 20% off in the restaurant. This was absolutely not necessary but very much appreciated. I don't recall his name (it began with C), and he remembered us at check out the next morning. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. There was great pressure in the shower, and the products were really high quality. The bed was about 8ft wide, and I had the best night's sleep I've had for years! The food from the bar was delicious, and it arrived quickly. The breakfast selection was excellent and regularly replenished, right up until they closed. The location was perfect for us, just 10 minutes walk to the 02 Apollo, and 3 minutes walk to Picadilly train station with regular trains to the airport. A great selection of bars (we found a beautiful cocktail bar called Maya on Canal Street) just 10 minutes walk. We would absolutely stay here again.

When booking for Manchester I chose based on my experience in the Marriott at Gatwick over Christmas. I was not disappointed in Manchester, even though there were differences due to different build dates and architecture. As soon as I entered the Manchester Marriott there was tranquillity and a large area to commune with friends and where meals and drinks were close by. It was welcoming. My room on the sixth floor was impressively large with a huge double AND a large sofa which I believe could have been converted into another bed - but you would need to request sheets and duvets etc. The bathroom was impressive because it really did have a bath AND a separate shower cubicle. Everything worked well, and the towels were the thickest I've ever seen; if they had been on the floor I would have mistaken them for white rugs. As usual at the Marriott the breakfast is worth paying for, and you won't need to eat again until the evening.

Not a complaint, and nothing against the Marriott as MOST hotels have this failing. PLEASE put some hand bars in the shower (and in this case in the bath area too). This is a very simple (and cheap) SAFETY feature than can prevent someone having a nasty slip or fall.

The reception and common areas are very well designed and comfortable. I found the rooms to be nice, and the air con was likely to be the best i've had in a hotel with the thermostat working spot on. There was in the suite, a flat screen tv, a mattress topper (very comfortable), bathrobes, dental kits and a coffee machine station. The stay in the room was very comfortable with great views. The breakfast was good, not overly special but a nice variety of fruits/ continental and hot breakfast with a live egg station. Plenty of seating available in the restaurant. Secure parking available next to the hotel which is gated albeit can be opened by anyone. Huge windows with plenty of natural light coming in the room.

Could not check in for at least 1 hour past check-in time of 4pm although a complimentary room upgrade was provided to suite which made up for it. Only one available lift at the time of posting which made it inconvenient (although it is likely fixed at the time of writing). The parking prices are slightly on the higher side at 20£ per day but the car park itself seems secure and plenty of spaces are available. Room itself is generally clean but could place closer attention to the places not frequently cleaned/ corners in the toilet/ the soap rack etc. I don't know if it was just me but the lamps weren't working not that it made a huge big deal as there was plenty of natural light!

The location was great, very close to Piccadilly station. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and a lovely view from the window. The choice of food at breakfast was very good. Reception staff were very nice and very helpful.

The water in the shower and bathroom sink took ages to drain away and the shower needed re grouting as it was very black in places. The restaurant staff were very miserable and were too quick to clear tables. Twice I got up to get something and when I got back my table along with my juice and knife and fork had gone. I noticed this happening on other tables with some people losing their table while getting a cup of coffee or toast etc.
