Stylish characterful hotel situated within a short walk to the station and walkable or a short tram ride to the city centre. The bedroom was light & airy with a large comfortable bed & great pillows. A fully tiled en-suite bathroom with an excellent large walk in shower and toiletries. The brasserie doubled up as a breakfast room & a bar in the evening.

The breakfast room was very well laid out and had the potential to be excellent. Unfortunately not all of the waiting staff were fully conversed with breakfast service as on ordering 2 full vegetarian breakfasts and coffee was told neither was possible. I chose an alternative breakfast, although enjoyable, would not have been my first choice. I overheard an adjoining table order a vegetarian breakfast and coffee with a different member of staff & was dismayed when this was delivered to the table. I queried this to be told the other member of staff did not usually serve breakfast. I have addressed these issues in a request from the hotel manager but have yet to receive a reply.

The building is so wonderful and the rooms are decorated really retro which is totally up my street . Me and my boyfriend have stayed here twice now and never want to stay anywhere else other than here . The staff and lovely and really helpful . We had that much of a good stay I begged my boyfriend to stay another night and we did , I really reccomend this place ! The location is perfect and is only a 10 minute (or under) walk to and from Piccadilly station , and another really short walk into the city centre which makes it ideal if you like to be close to shopping areas . It also has small supermarkets practically next door and a kfc a few buildings down which we found really useful if we didn’t feel like eating out one night . We booked in a luxury room and the bed was huge and as was the room . It was clean and tidy , and the cleaners tidied up the room and changed the bins when we was out shopping . The building had a lift which is great if you have a lot of luggage - the staff also asked if we needed them to hold our luggage for us so we could shop around before we could check in , and after we checked out .

The only negative I could think of (which is such a minor thing and genuinely didn’t really matter to us at all) , would be the fact that the tv didn’t have many channels and we was unable to cast from our phone to the tv since it was an old television . I guess it would’ve been pretty cool if we could watch Netflix or something like that , but we can make our own fun and the hotel provided us with a speaker which made up for the tv since music is better than Netflix anyway !

I stay in a lot of hotels and frankly, this one was one of the best for the price given it's central location. The room itself was a bit dated but the bed was really comfortable...not hard like most but not overly soft either. I slept really well. I was allocated Room 111 on the first floor. The room was quite large with lovely high ceilings and period features throughout. Amazingly, for the location, it was pretty quiet...bit of street noise but nothing over bearing. The bathroom was fine, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water in the shower. Another feature I loved is the windows opened to allow fresh air to enter the room...a feature not always available in many other establishments.

The kettle didn't work properly. Found a workaround for my short stay but that was my only issue which I reported upon checking out. There was an A/C unit but no controller I could find. A fan was provided (Dyson Airblade) but it wasn't the best...but it did the job.

It’s in a great location (literally minutes from Piccadilly station), easy to find, good cheap parking, very comfortable bed, good shower/bathroom, spacious room.

Staff are very helpful but not very friendly, one receptionist barely looked up from the desk. The lift is slow, small and very rickety. Room is clean but rough around the edges, the curtain netting was dirty and so was the window. There’s an air con unit in the room but it didn’t work, so we were provided with a Dyson fan however doesn’t give off much power so it was quite hot. Water bottles provided but at £2.50 each! No fridge. Woken after midnight by slamming doors and the noise of hoovering.

Location was excellent and the rooms were quite nice and spaceous. Overall the staff was really helpful, especially at reception.

The room was really hot so the whole day we needed to use the mobile ac. Further, breakfast was really expensive. 20GPD per person. Then walking over to the Brasserie the prives on the menu were 5-10GPD?! We went there for the Oasis concerts. So prices were high and therefore value for money was questionable (375 per night). However, in normal circumstances this should be much better. The location makes up for a lot of these disadvantages.

The hotel is a fabulous old hotel, full of character and amazing tiles. The room we were allocated was extremely hot - the AC didn't work and the replacement mobile AC already in the room made no difference. The receptionist was very helpful and found us another room - which was an upgrade, much larger, robes and slippers, Nespresso machine, armchairs etc. The AC still didn't work but a Dyson was already provided and working so the room was a comfortable temperature for sleeping. Good also that checkout was 11 so we didn't need to rush.

We didn't have breakfast there due to the high cost and though the tea, coffee etc was provided, the cartons of water were £2.50. A small fridge would have been helpful.

Loved the room, the location, breakfast choices

Housekeeping staff didn't make my bed properly and didn't change the sheets. I found it done when I got to my room but sheets were creased, bathroom bin had not been emptied and the contents were left next to the wash basin. Reception staff are not trained about local transport to local attractions and don't even know which bus goes to Piccadilly park as an example or even to National express coach station at Charlton street which is only 6 minutes away. For breakfast, only 2 slices of toast are given which are badly burnt in the corners and actually make up just 1 whole slice. No butter is given except when asked. No refill of coffee or juice!

The room was very good, with a very comfortable bed, and a narrow but very good bathroom. The shower was excellent. The breakfast was probably the best I've had at any hotel. It was served, and very, very good. I didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. When I asked for coffee, I was offered a range, and the latte I chose was excellent. We were attending a concert at Co-op Live, and the hotel was in a very good location close to Piccadilly rail station. We travelled to the venue by tram, the stop for which is under the main-line station, so was very convenient for our needs

Description on Booking.com says Parking which in my experience means its available FOC but in this case its not so suggest you change it to "parking for extra fee" or remove On arrival no one told me about how the parking arrangement was made so unfortunately for me despite putting my car reg into the computer on reception I was unaware that there was a charge for parking & subsequently received a £60 parking fine. This was frustrating when I had paid for 10 rooms b&b. When I rang hotel after receiving the fine I was told I should have been informed at check in & when I advised that I wasn't I was told its in the small print so not their issue.

Probably the best hotel stay we've ever had (but we did pay considerably more than usual!). Staff were nice. We got the desirable room which was lovely and had the biggest bed I've ever seen. Good range of teas and coffee. Loved having the Marshall Bluetooth speaker. Would definitely come and stay here again. Ideal location for a city break - as central as it gets.

I would suggest parking at Q-park Piccadilly rather than Citipark. This cost us £13 for 24 hours, so the same as Citipark with the hotel discount. It's much more secure - having read a review of Citipark where someone's car got broken into I didn't want to take the risk!
