the room had a slight smell of cigarette smoke, lights in the room tricky, shower curtain not properly attached

location is spot on, about a 5-10 min walk from Piccadilly Train Station and shops and restaurants literally on the doorstep. Piccadilly Gardens just across the road with a lovely little food market. Breakfast was nice, buffet style continental and cooked to order hot option. Staff were lovely. Room was adequate, a little dated but we were happy for what we paid. Great view of the main street. Rooms are not double glazed so you will hear some street noise, mainly emergency services sirens.

our room (404) had two windows but one had been blocked off for some reason. Curtains didn't close properly which is not a problem in the darker months but I would imagine would be annoyance in the lighter months

We were eventually given a nice room, that was very spacious and had windows that you could open. Reception staff didn't discuss and were friendly and offered us this room very promptly (see cons of first room). Bedsheets and towels were clean. Location is great.

We were initially given a room on the first floor that had a strong smell of cigarettes especially in the bathroom. The floor boards along the corridors are very creaky and overall the hotel could do with a makeover. The carpet in the room was very worn out and not the cleanest.

The location of the hotel is great very central , great value , comfy bed and bath .would stay again.

So, the hotel itself doesn't really look like the photos, nowhere near as bright, and I almost missed the entrance as it's just one door...but, what a great stay. It was an inside room, so there were no windows, so there was a fan in the room. Lots of lights dotted around the room. The bed was comfy. I was chilling for a few hours before going out, the TV had lots of channels to choose from. Had a great sleep. The shower was a bit stiff to turn on, but it was really powerful and lovely and hot. I booked breakfast when I got to the hotel. The continental was buffet, plenty of choice, but my favourite thing is I could order the hot breakfast, so it came fresh to the table. I had veg full breakfast. The staff were nice and friendly. The hotel is perfectly placed in the city. Would definitely recommend.

It's not even a ' something I didn't like', it's got a cute 80's decor, with the wiring to match, so not many plug sockets.

Stayed at The Gardens Hotel whilst visiting Manchester with my daughter for her birthday celebration. We arrived by train and only a had a very short walk from Manchester piccadilly train station to the hotel. The hotel is situated amongst lots of shops, bars and restaurants and is perfectly located for visiting all the local attractions. The hotel itself is clean and well presented and the staff were all super helpful. There are tea and coffee making facilities within the room and these were refilled daily. We had breakfast on both days of our stay and the food was cooked fresh to order and delicious. The price was very reasonable too. I would definitely recommend The Gardens Hotel.

There wasn't anything that I was dissatisfied with during my stay.

Hotel situation ideal.. The room was light and airy(424) Water pressure for the shower was wonderfully powerful..best shower ever Breakfast was wonderful... Perfect poached eggs!.(That's important) breakfast staff were lovely., as were all the staff I encountered.. I would stay again.

The room was lovely, light and airy, on first sight. Then noticed that there was just 2 sockets in this twin room, one for(free view) TV and one for kettle, none by the beds... We're in the technology age, more sockets, especially those with USB, are required. .. hairdryer needs replacing, the surface is sticky, tried cleaning it to no avail.

Loved it, gonna stay there again in future 😁.. But one thing room was a bit cold but it was alright, need the bathroom fan to be fixed though needs cleaning too because it's not working so had a lot of steam coming out of the bathroom because had window open just for a bit but once I went to bed I closed the window but it wouldn't fully closed so had a gab between it.. But all in all will stay again it was comfy and cosy and showers and baths where awesome but need to make sure the shower head holder needs to be a bit bigger to let it slot in so it don't go everywhere when showering.. But all in all awesome hotel room will stay again and loved the breakfast loved everything about it will stay again 😁🥰

The location was fantastic, lift was great for access, the room was comfy but enough room so you didn’t feel crowded, the beds were lovely and the room was always nice and warm, Debbie (I think she’d head of house keeping) was fantastic! She was very considerate always said good morning or evening and was excellent! And the staff on reception I think her name was Anabel (she seemed to be on reception a lot) was lovely when we arrived

Our only fault was the walls are thin so we could hear everything and our room was near where you go for the lift so we could hear everyone going back and forth and talking

Was very sceptical about this. hotel as it was only £57 a night with two full English breakfast ! well what ia suppose ! smack bang in the middle of picadily gardens so 10 mins walk from the station, reception was pleasant . Crpets were a bit worn but hey oi wasn't sleeping on th floor ? Room was at the back two very comfy single beds, extra pillows, tea coffee , hairdryer and an iron! Very clean room with toiletries included. Varied breakfast menu offering full English or vegan option, pancakes or breakfast bun and a selection of continental patties juice etc. Cant fault this place at all would really recommend for location, price etc and would stay here again
