Everything about the Lamb Inn is wonderful, having previously stayed for a weekend back in February, we were so impressed we booked again straight away and stayed for 5 nights. The staff are so warm and friendly, they recognised us from before! The food is absolutely fantastic, the room immaculate and the service is second to none. We will be returning again and again. Big thanks to Fiona and her brilliant staff for looking after us all week. I highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed.

Nothing at all, except having to leave….

Lovely room, nicely decorated with big comfortable sleigh bed & soft cosy bedlinen. The bathroom was a good size with a spacious shower & fluffy towels. There were lots of extras in the room which was a nice touch ie, varied tea/ coffee, biscuits, chocolate, hairdryer & straighteners, iron & board, umbrella, travel essentials in the bathroom. The pub itself was traditionally quaint & obviously popular. We ate there twice & the menu was interesting & the food very good. Friendly & efficient staff.

There was really nothing to dislike but just a note to say that the bed, whilst very comfy, did creak quite a bit when turning over which was a little disturbing in the night. The towels could have been a little bit larger.

I always enjoy staying at The Lamb Inn. A friendly well run pub with great food, great well stocked bar, but above all great hosts. They are true professionals and that shows through on the customer service values that they instill in their team. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast in particular was one of the best I've had, nice and hot and cooked freshly, dinner was also very good and good value for money. The room was very comfortable and had all of the little touches - some you would expect, but pleasingly, some you wouldn't. Great stay, thanks to the whole team.

Bathroom is starting to need a refresh, but still better than a lot of other places.

We came here for one night to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday. The staff were very helpful in organising a bottle of Champagne for when we arrived for lunch, and they’d given us a lovely window seat. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and all three meals were outstanding. My husband said his fillet steak was in the top 2 steaks he’d ever had - high praise! We selected our breakfast choices on a slip the day before and it was served in the pub lounge next to a beautiful roaring fire. In addition to the hot breakfast they also had our fresh fruit and yogurt, cereal, toast and assorted jams and honey and fresh tea and coffee. Just wonderful! The property seems to have three rooms and they are all accessed by external doors so we could come and go as we pleased. We were in Room 2 with the comfiest bed, tea and coffee and little extra chocolates were provided, and the bathroom was very spacious with a good shower. Nothing was too much for any of the staff. We’d love to come again when the weather is nicer and explore nearby. You will need a car or grab a taxi to get anywhere.

Not applicable everything was perfect.

From start to finish we had a fantastic stay. We only stayed 2 nights, but we were very happy with everything. We stayed in room 2, which was roomy, comfortable, and pleasant. We had our evening meal both nights we were there as the food on the first night was exceptional we had to go back for more. All staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the lady who looked after us at breakfast (she was friendly and very attentive). Excellent produce was served for both the continental and cooked breakfast, which were both available (not one or the other) and were very substantial. Very close to nearby walks (Mount Famine, etc), and nearby towns (Buxton, Glossop, Hayfield, etc) are not far away. We would certainly recommend the Lamb Inn to anyone looking to stay.

If you're a light sleeper, you may need ear plugs as the road is quite busy overnight. It affected my husband's sleep Friday night, but traffic wasn't that bad Saturday night, and he slept through. I had no issues either night. We would still rate the Lamb Inn highly.

The Lamb inn is located a little out of Chinley in the countryside. Beautiful scenery and footpath at the end of the car park up into the hills. Plenty of on site free parking. Staff were great; really friendly and helpful. The room was very good, with comfortable bed. Free in room secure wifi. The food in the two evenings was superb, (steak and belly pork). Breakfast was too late for me, but they provided me with serial, yoghurt, and fruit the night before. Check in from 2.00pm.

Breakfast from 09.00am, which was far too late for me.

Beautiful room Very comfy Scrummy food Exceptionally friendly staff My husband was really poorly we couldn’t leave room all day & Tabitha was so helpful getting me some bits for the room & she then come back later to check he was ok . Over & above what you would expect

No spare toilet roll - as my husband was ill this would have been an issue in the middle of the night - luckily we bought our own . No hair dryer Close to busy road so do get road noise No wifi in rooms just in pub & car park

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and made our stay very pleasant. The restaurant had olde worlde charm in abundance and had a very relaxing atmosphere. It was surprisingly large and could accommodate larger parties without disturbance to other patrons.

It was unfortunate due to unusual circumstances there was no one available on site to let us in upon arrival so we had to wait outside for an hour until some staff arrived. That was the only hiccup.

The room had high quality fittings with a very comfortable bed. The decor was luxurious. A lovely hot shower too. Loved that the room was separate from the pub. No noise from the pub or the busy road outside.

The shower, although luxurious, didn’t have a door due to its open design. This meant that water sprayed onto the floor. The fan was not enough to remove the steam, even with the window wide open. Was a little disappointed that the toiletries consisted only of very runny shower gel/ shampoo. If I had known that, I would’ve brought my own.

The room was fantastic, great shower/bathroom facilities, super comfortable bed. Food was outstanding we had dinner as well as the breakfast, lots of options for both, all served in a super cosy dining area. If you're planning to have dinner I recommend booking a table as soon as you know dates. Staff were excellent throughout, meet and greet and checkout were super smooth and they couldn't have been more helpful.

Honestly nothing - Everything was absolutely spot on throughout our stay
