Our stay in Kingscroft was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The interior of the house is highly decorated and stylish. The majordomo - the man of the house - took great care in explaining everything and taking care of us and other guest during our stay making us feel welcomed. The room we stayed in was nice and spacious. Breakfast offers a wide variety and generous portions. In the evening you enter your selection for the next day. You can select from variety of cereals, fruits, yoghurt, there is an english breakfast with beans option, avocado toast, various types of croissants, teas, smoothies, crumble... They offer a good number of vegetarian and vegan options and these are not an afterthough. Their modest library cointains books on local hikes that we took advantage of. Location of the the accomodation is also pretty good. On a map, it might look far from the Buxton center or from the train station but that appears like that only on the map. Buxton is a small town and it's about 15 minutes from the train station and maybe 7 minutes to the main square where buses leave from. It's also a short walk from the Solomon's temple up on one of the hills overlooking Buxton.
I cannot think of a single thing!

When you talk about Kingscroft the first thing that comes to mind is the breakfast. Wow. You pre-order the day before from an extensive list of options. On the first morning we asked for their famous birdcage-breakfast. Fresh yogurt, pastries and croissants. Wonderful. The second day we asked for the yogurt and fruit. Well the fruit was fresh, ample and the arrangement on top of the yogurt was amazing, it was a shame to eat it. Wal, the owner and our host, was great. He was very knowledgeable of the area and had lots of pamphlets of local events. We stayed in room 2 and it didn´t disappoint. A spectacular 4-poster bed, lots of space and a nice en-suite bathroom. Car parking was right on the premises. Although Kingscroft is not in the town center, it is only a few minutes walking. It is very close to the 5-ways road junction from where you can easily drive out of Buxton in any direction.
Can´t really pin point anything.

It was great. We arrived early and were warmly welcomed by the owner. We were all wet from the raining day hike and so were grateful when the owner told us that the room was ready and we could check in early. The property was spotless clean, the room was cozy and the beds were very comfy. The owners were so welcoming and friendly and they provided the best service for their guests. They truly made us feel like home. We spent the evening in their living room playing chess and the piano. We enjoyed some pleasant conversations with the owners. It is definitely one of the best stays for us. Oh and their breakfast was amazing!

Our stay at Kingscroft was truly exceptional. We were warmly welcomed by Wol, and he was extremely attentive throughout. Our room was beautiful, just as you see in the photos. There were so many lovely touches, fresh fruit and plenty of bottled water. The bed was so comfortable, we slept really well. Vicky's breakfast was incredible, the choice was unlike anything we've seen before! It's all pre-ordered and the portions are very generous. The location was great too, just a few minutes to walk to the restaurants, shops and Pavillion Gardens. We will definitely come back again and would highly recommend to anyone headed to the Buxton area. Thank you Wol and Vicky for a fantastic stay.

We were visiting Buxton in order to attend a show at the Opera House and booked to stay for one night at Kingscroft. We found the property was meticulously clean and very homely. The hosts were very personable and more than happy to help with advice about the area. The breakfast was pre-ordered from a comprehensive menu and the food was absolutely delicious and served in very generous portions. The warm summer fruits crumble with yogurt was unexpected but beyond delicious. My wife and I have already decided that we will return to Kingscroft the next time we return to the area.
Absolutely nothing.

Lovely place with incredibly polite and welcoming hosts with charming and thoughtful additions in the room. The bed was very comfy, we slept well and it’s conveniently located.
The advert on booking.com says full english/Irish breakfast which it isn’t as the guesthouse is vegetarian so we had to go elsewhere for breakfast and I wouldn’t have booked this given it was my partners birthday had I seen that advertised on booking.com (still not sure where it’s clear but never mind) but I appreciate it does mention it on the actual hotels own site having since checked

The four of us were welcomed by Vol and given a very informative introduction to staying at Kingscroft. Three of us are vegetarian / vegan so had chosen Kingscroft because of its non-meat breakfast, and the menu was interesting, varied and delicious , all pre-ordered so everyone's choices were fulfilled. The rooms were decorated elaborately, fitting with the Victorian character of the house, our beds were extremely comfortable. The location was excellent, on a quiet street out of the centre of Buxton but only a 10-15 minute walk away.
The room could have been a little warmer, following a week of cold weather and heavy rain, meaning our clothes were already wet when we arrived. However a very thick overblanket was provided which kept us warm at night.

It's a lovely hotel tucked away on a quiet street, close to town and also a short distance from walking trails. The owner, Wol, gave us a very warm welcome and provided lots of information about the area. We stayed in room number 6, up on the top floor. It was a good size, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We had a great night's sleep. The room was clean and came very well equipped with a great selection of teas, coffees, biscuits, fruit and the added luxury of comfy bathrobes and slippers. The breakfast was fantastic, lots to choose from and generous portions. It really set us up for the day!

Beautiful house in a fantastic location. A very warm and friendly welcome from Wol( Woldymyr) who we saw every time we left/ arrived back at the house and for breakfast each morning. Very spacious well equipped room and extremely comfy four-poster bed. Liked the addition of complimentary fruit and numerous bottles of still/sparkling water. Breakfast is AWESOME! All vegetarian with vegan options. And what options!! Freshly cooked to perfection Portions are huge- Wol does warn you at check-in- ignore him at your peril. We both dialled back the options on day 2 breakfast. Will definitely be returning!!
That I didn’t live there- lol

The breakfasts were huge and plenty to choose from, our only little niggle was I hadn’t realised it was all vegetarian, we did miss the bacon but the veggie sausages were lovely, we chose this guest house because we love the Victorian era and it didn’t dissapoint, Would definitely stay there again, just a short walk to pubs, restraunts and shops. Wal was perfect host, nothing was too much trouble , all good quality , the towels were really thick and fluffy
