lovely comfy and well maintained bedrooms in a beautiful setting. The staff were absolutely lovely and it was a very warm inviting environment.
I was in room 28 and on the first two nights there was a heavy smell of tobacco in the corridor so I’m not sure if people were smoking in their rooms but it was very very strong. However, that did not have an impact on my stay in anyway, apart from the fact I don’t like smoking.

We needed to stay close to Macclesfield so location was important. The hotel itself looked lovely on the photographs and the restaurant was very spacious, nicely decorated and bright. We had a standard room which was perfectly adequate for our short stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was large enough. The staff were friendly and accommodating, breakfast was included in our package with a full English menu.
The pillows were past their best and very flat and hard. The sealant around the bath needs either changing or cleaning as it was black in places.

Beautiful décor, pleasant staff, large bed. The grounds and car parking were wonderful. Good views of the grounds in dining room and cosy bar ambiance. Within easy distance of Manchester airport.
The suite needed repairs, the bath was broken and we were told not to use it, the sink and floor tiles were cracked. The carpet was worn and had bald patches and there was a big layer of dust under the bed and around the base of the furniture. No refrigerator in the room. This was required for medical reasons (to keep pharmaceuticals cold). Just needs a check on these items and all will be perfect again.

Liked the location and the quirkiness of the building inside and out. Food was really tasty. Very nice stay - will come again as not far away from where we live. Positives outweighed the negatives
Stair treads up to the top floor needed a little maintenance. TV signal was not very good in either room (62/64) - possibly a booster might help?? Lots of channels available on tv but because of signal not all available. No lights (solar or otherwise on drive up to hotel). Would help to see where going when coming back later on in the evening or if arriving when dark.

Good size bedroom and well equipped with hairdryer, iron and board, etc, kettle and tea/coffee available. Good breakfast choice. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty parking in car park.
The seats in dining room are quite low and it was noted that various people had same awkwardness eating at tables, many sitting on the edge of seats to eat breakfast, dinner etc. A central seating area of four tables had higher bench seats which were a good height, although the single seats adjoining the bench seats were again much lower. The tables in the conservatory area felt sticky, owing to the 'preservation coating' that had been applied.

Everything went well really. I tripped on the stone-window-area in the dining room and hurt my knee badly. Entirely my fault, but I could have wished for the floor to have been fully carpeted all the way to the window.
I am elderly, so the signing messages about how to get from A to B would have totally baffled me if I didn't have some younger folk to interpret for me! And the connecting doors were really hard for me to push - although I know about fire prevention. The milk and beverage availability was meagre I thought. Actually, really poor. I couldn't get the news on the Tv and was glad I had my iPad with me.

We upgraded to better room. It was a large room everything in there that would be needed incl air con. Evening meal was very good and the sweet. No noise from other guests was a bonus as close to the main stairway in main house.
Minor points but four poster bed was a bit loose making a noise every time we turned over or got out. Needs fixing i would suggest. No view from room other than through a window of another room. . 4.30am everything seemed to come to life and woke us up . Possibly water heating up/air con - not sure. It seemed to start again 4.50am and just gone 5am but then settled. Somewhere to put toiletries on - on a shelf etc in bathroom would be useful.

What a little Gem, I booked this for an overnight stay for a training day the following day, we arrived at 11pm for check in and the team were only too happy to help and really knowledgeable about the area too, we had a drink at the bar and sat outside after the long drive to relax before bed, the place is a 3* establishment but don't let that fool you, the rooms are not huge but the beds were comfortable and quiet, when we woke in the morning we were able to finally see the what a wonderful location we were in, the breakfast room was fantastic with beautiful views over the countryside and the choice of breakfast was well worth the price of £10, thank you to the team at Hollin House when we are up your way again we will definitely stay again, we hope to get there earlier next time to enjoy an evening meal too.

We booked in for the dinner and breakfast package, which was fantastic. Our room was so nice, lovely and warm and the bed was big and comfortable. We had a great nights sleep! The food at dinner was amazing, great presentation and tasted really good with plenty of options. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices of Full English, cereals, fruit etc. The location is so nice also with the village being just down the road and amazing scenery just a short drive out. Outstanding value for money.
Nothing, all was great!

The room was spacious and clean. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast had a super choice and was very tasty. The staff during breakfast were very helpful and full of smiles for everyone. The location was very nice - it was hilly but good for walks. We loved the complimentary wine - a lovely surprise.
The car park is at a considerable lower height than the Hotel Reception - as an elderly client it was a little hard to pull the cases up the hill. The T.V. was a little complicated to work out - perhaps a help guide could be provided?
