Perfectly clean and comfortable stay. Room decor and furnishings are all of great quality. Extra touches, like salts for the bath, fudge & fresh milk, were much appreciated. Staff were very friendly and professional. The food in the restaurant was amazing at both breakfast & evening meal.

The only negative for us was being in room 1, it meant we were right near the entrance/reception and there was a small lounge area right next to our room which other guests decided to use to sit & drink until the early hours. It sounded like they were in our room at times. By 1am, we'd had enough, so we did have to politely ask them to move on. Maybe a little note to advise area can only be used until a certain time or at least a sign reminding users of nearby bedroom.and to keep noise to minimum would help?

The Merchant’s Yard is fantastic!!!! We came as a family (2 adults, our 7 year old and our 10 year old) for a day of walking and a comfortable place to stay, and this couldn’t have been better. The staff are extraordinarily welcoming and attentive, the meal we had in the resteraunt was delicious, and the rooms are very luxurious indeed (we were in a ‘superior double’ with 2 camp beds for the kids - the camp beds were very comfortable). The hotel is in the perfect place to act as a base for the peaks, Tideswell itself itself is charming, and it’s central to countless of great walks.

We had a fantastic stay at The Merchant’s Yard. The hotel is beautifully designed, with spacious and tasteful interiors that make you feel relaxed the moment you arrive. It’s peaceful and quiet – perfect for a restful getaway. The food was absolutely delicious and the coffee was outstanding – some of the best we’ve had in a long time. The staff were friendly and professional, adding to the overall great experience. The location is also ideal – close to many great walking and cycling routes, and lots of interesting places to explore nearby. We would happily return if we’re in the area again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Peak District!

The merchants yard was excellent. Reserved parking space on arrival and free drink. Staff were very helpful and polite and lovely. The hotel itself was immaculate with great food, one of the best breakfasts I’ve had. The room was spotless and modern with a comfy bed and big TV. The bathroom was again spotless! With lovely shower and separate bath and really nice toiletries. Plenty of tea and coffee as well with proper milk in the fridge and little box of welcome fudge. For the price we paid you cannot beat value for money. I’ve stayed in hotels which cost twice as much and was no where near the standard of the merchants yard. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Top notch.

Upon arrival we booked in and were told we had a complimentary drink which was lovely, we went straight to the courtyard to sit and chill as it was a very sunny day. Room, facilities and bathroom were lovely. I'd chosen this hotel as its had a separate bath and shower - loved the shower gel, shampoos etc. Didn't realise there was a fridge which was an added bonus. Iron, Ironing board and hairdryer all in the room, along with tea/coffee/water and biscuits. Dined in the restaurant that evening - food was lovely and lots of options for vegans so I was really happy. Breakfast choices again were great, vegans catered for and food was delicious.

The room was beautiful, really big, very bright with the skylight but the blackout blinds worked perfectly. It was a slightly rainy weekend and this was the perfect place, lovely and warm. Great double ended bath, perfect after getting a bit wet on a walk, and we had dinner at the restaurant. Good food, well priced, good wine which is difficult to find in a pub. Nice breakfast, plenty of selection, friendly service. surprisingly beautiful, elegant design of the public spaces, while still very comfortable sofas in the bar area.

I was surprised there were no real ales, but the beers that were available were fine.

Located in the centre of the Peak District the hotel provided excellent access to all the park has to offer. Personalised parking is provided and excellent communication from the hotel made finding the hotel easy. Our room was very comfortable with a beautiful bathroom with all the ‘extras’ included. The bed was very cosy and had we no trouble sleeping. The restaurant too was first class. Breakfasts were both plentiful and very well cooked and presented. Evening dinner was similarly excellent. This is not a cheap hotel, however you get what you pay for and we were very satisfied.The staff here were lovely and very helpful in all ways. We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights here and could not think of anything to have improved our stay.

Parking space has your name on it , staff were amazing especially Jo front of house. Everyone was so facilitating and pleasant. Location fantastic, food fantastic, rooms fantastic, loved the bath, the outside seating was great as it was a sunny day and we had a coffee there. Everything is provided in the room, hair dryer, iron, tea and coffee, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, tissues. You name it. Can’t fault this place at all.

I really don’t have anything bad to say

Beautiful hotel! Rooms spotless, beds actually comfortable, even my daughter's camp bed! Loved the bathroom with the stand-alone bath; powerful shower too. Just strange that out room had no window, just a remote-controlled skylight with blind. The restaurant was beautiful also, as was the food. We were even offered at complimentary drink each! Breakfast was also of a high standard and plenty to choose from; all table service. Overall, we had a fantastic stay in this little "Mecca" in the middle of nowhere! Thank you to all! Would definitely recommend.

The food service was extremely slow. We waited an hour between stater and main courses. It then took a half an hour to get one coffee afterwards, then the bill.

We had such a lovely stay at the Merchants Yard, celebrating my friends 40th, everything was just right. The accommodation was beautiful and very comfortable with everything you would need. It looked like it had been newly renovated and was spotlessly clean. The staff were fantastic, really welcoming and helpful. From the start with booking they were in contact with us ensuring that we had everything we needed for our upcoming stay. We had afternoon tea on arrival which was delicious, everything was freshly made, and there was just the right amount. We then had the tasting menu in the evening which once again was perfectly cooked and delicious. Breakfast was also really nice with real sausages and bacon and a decent portion. Couldn't fault anything, thank you for a lovely stay.
