Really enjoyed our 2 night stay. We were in one of the apartments (room 3) which was very clean throughout. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was spacious. The staff could not have been more helpful, they were friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. We felt very welcome. The breakfast was excellent, lots of variety and all fresh, our little dog was also well looked after with a sausage for breakfast each morning. There is also a lovely walk with amazing views just at the back of the property. The bar was open on both nights, it has a games room and a nice atmosphere. We highly recommend a stay here.

The apartment was a lovely size and most unexpected as I was only expecting a hotel room. The apartment has a living area, kitchen area, bathroom, and bedroom. Some furniture fixtures and fittings people will think a little dated, but I found them to be very comfy, especially the reclining chair and the bed. The full English breakfast was good, the selection for the continental was very good and both tastes great. Staff were polite and friendly and I thought it was good value for money. I would definitely come back and stay here

The only criticism I have is i was expecting to pay the balance on arrival, but I found it had been taken a couple of days before I arrived. As I've mentioned, some will find the furniture, fixtures, and fittings a little dated. Note, there is no breakfast available on Sunday morning, not sure if that was due to the time of year I stayed (End of June) Note 2, some will find the road a little noisy, personally it didn't bother me

The property was very clean immaculately clean and it was very cosy comfy we had everything we needed . Mirror dressing table large wardrobe and chest of drawers . Hairdryer and Towels . The beds are made up and comfy . They made our dogs very welcome and even gave them a breakfast . The breakfast was amazing fruit croissants yogurts and hans toast cereals water and has much tea and coffee as you wanted . We gave paid a lot more for less choice elsewhere . My digs had breakky both days which they both thought was just Pawfect . The Tissington Trail is just behind the hotel to walk the dogs . There is also a lovely garden at the back if you can’t walk far and use the trail and ample room for the dogs to run around. We parked our car outside our room . There is ample parking . Recommendation’s a small fridge to keep things in . We had taken some cheeses and some wine to have later when back at the room . Also an extra chair to sit on would have been perfect to eat our cheeses and drink our wine . The staff could not do enough to make us welcome and nothing was too much trouble . I’m sure if we had asked for a chair they would have provided one . They were all Very friendly and they were all very welcoming . It was so quiet and relaxing we throughly enjoyed our stay .

Not having a fridge and an extra chair to sit whilst watching TV . One of us sat on the bed but that would be difficult for some . The shower was very low pressure and needs to be looked at this is something that I forgot to mention before leaving .

From arrival we were greeted by Ross who couldn't do more to help us. We were shown to our lovely spacious room which was clean and tidy and everything we needed. Ross then helped my husband with our bags so I could look after our toddler. There is a lovely spacious dining room which is again clean and well presented. There is a snug lounge with sofas and chairs which we didn't use but again is a welcoming area to relax in. Ross was able to give us suggestions of places to eat which were fabulous and only a short drive away. The hotel is close to lots of trails we enjoyed some stunning walks and hired bikes and completed the Monsal trail and a short drive from Bakewell and Ashbourne. The hotel is child friendly and were excellent with our busy two year old.

What's not to like really. The hotel is as pictured and listed. Good value for money.

Fantastic hotel, very nicely decorated rooms and lovely staff. Great value for money for the stay but also for breakfast that we booked separately. Perfect location, easy to reach and near some fabulous spots to explore - we took a 10mins drive to Dovedale Stepping Stones in the evening - perfect time as it was getting empty and we really enjoyed the walk in the valley. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Some noise from the road - we had a road-facing room, so you could hear the cars and also the neighbours from the room above us quite loudly, but nothing some ear plugs can't fix. And we had a great sleep anyway as the bed was super comfy.

The apartment was warm and cosy, bed comfy, hot water hot and plentiful, and in excellent decorative order. It would be even better if some information were provided about appliances. For example, I spent ages in the morning trying to figure out how to use the ceramic job to cook my porridge! Host very accommodating and gave clear information about access. If a tea towel had been provided, I would gave dried my breakfast things and put them away too. Fresh milk in the fridge overnight was frozen in the morning (easily fixed using the microwave, but if I’d had other things in the fridge they would have been spoilt. Easy fix but does need sorting.

Very friendly welcome from all the staff. Tissington Trail is right behind the hotel, only a two mile hike to the hamlet of halls & 'High' Sheriff of Derbyshire, lots of paths downhill into Dovedale. They have a belle jardin derriere to sink ales post perspirations, good bar & games room by reception.

My amigo's snore-fest ;-o Games room is big enough for a ping pong table, or upgrade the current snooker table which drunkards couldnae crack!

The hotel and location is stunning. It has gone through a refurbishment recently and is only just reopening after that. The staff were lovely especially Ross who was extremely attentive and helpful. We had a good nights sleep, room was a little chilly at night but not freezing. Breakfast was good quality and excellent value for money. Nice hotel in a stunning part of the uk.

Unlike a major chain hotel, this is simple and friendly and welcoming. The building is old and full of character - it isn't a white box hotel. The car park was FULL on Saturday night, and I think that tells you everything you need to know. If I add that I slept to eight hours of SILENCE, then this certainly fulfils the 'Bed' part of B&B. As to the 'Breakfast' part, well an extensive help yourself continental breakfast will satisfy most, and then add in the hot food cooked to your order and you're set up for the day. I should tell you that this hotel is 5-miles from anywhere, so you will probably have to go back to Ashbourne if you forgot your toothbrush or you wanted an evening meal; the restaurant only serves breakfast, which is a pity because it is a lovely room. There is The George at Alstonfield about 2-miles away which is a picturesque hamlet, but don't take a big car down this country lane, and if you want a meal then phone ahead; other pubs and restaurants are available on the A515 on the way to Ashbourne.

There isn't a WiFi password because there isn't any WiFi . So your connectivity will depend on what you can get on your phone provider. I'm not making a complaint about the WiFi because it persuaded me to switch off and relax, and that is ALL that you should do in such a beautiful part of Derbyshire.

The room was spacious, comfortable and warm. All the amenities you could need to hand. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, explaining the history of the hotel and local walks etc. The breakfast was amazing ... soooo much choice (can highly recommend the fresh baked croissants and full English breakfast). Parking on site and wifi available (though getting reception on your phone may be difficult depending on your network provider).I would definately stay there again on my next visit to the area. Exceltionally good value for money.

Google maps sends you to a house/location past the hotel. Watch out for the flags to make sure you don't have to try and do a u turn to get back to it. Obviously this has nothing to do with the actual hotel but thought I'd share so people avoid missing the entrance.
