The host was lovely greeted us on arrival and explained where things were. Breakfast was great plenty of choice. Room very clean and complimentary toiletries. Tea and coffee provided in room with the extra touches of biscuits and chocolates . A good place to stay if exploring the area. We did the Tissington trail and the start was just around the corner so perfect .

The mattress on the bed for me was a little too soft but that is personal choice . Also the house was a little dated but I must say it was clean .

Breakfast was really nice, the hostess was very accommodating to our dietary requirements, room was very cosy and everything worked. Location was great as there were many pubs, shops and restaurants very close by. Private parking was nice.

Lot of roadworks in the area, but not a massive issue. The method for the private parking was not explained properly beforehand, this could have been sorted by Booking.com more efficiently so guests are better informed before arrival.

Room spacious, comfortable, very clean and very quiet. Host very friendly and helpful. We stayed one night before running a half marathon race. They did us a special breakfast of porridge early Sunday morning before the race and allowed us to have a late check out at 1pm free of charge so that we could shower and change after the race. Very convenient location - 2 mins from bus station, pubs and cafes within 5 minutes walk, leisure centre and start of Tissington Trail less than 10 minutes walk.

Really good B&B, everything you need was at hand, the owners are lovely, really helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Breakfast was spot on – there where other guests there that had more complicated breakfast request and they couldn’t have been more understanding. Ease to check in and out – perfect location, safe parking – we will be back

The shower was electric so plenty of hot water, not as powerful as I prefer, this is a personal preference. It was a good shower. I just like a proper power shower. We were in room 6 and there is a roof light, it has an internal black out blind that works perfectly when you use it. We didn’t notice it on the first night so it was a bit bright early in the morning Nothing that would stop me revisiting – which we plan on doing!

Excellent location. The room we had was very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and had a good night's sleep. En suite bathroom very spacious with corner bath and overhead shower. Breakfast very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay and would definately recommend to Friends and Family should they want accomodation in Ashbourne and we would certainly book to stay again if in area.

A lovely place which was ideal for our stay in central Ashbourne. Friendly hosts who couldn't do more for us. Excellent value for money including a tasty cooked breakfast option in the morning. Clean room, comfortable beds and nice little touches (including chocolates and biscuits to go with tea/coffee provided). Perfect stay for our trip - we will definitely return - thank you.

Unfortunately roadworks impeded our initial access to the property. Basically just ignore & follow satnav. Secure parking at rear of property. Extremely warm & friendly welcome even tho we were much later in arriving than anticipated. Very comfortable and warm bedroom. Good quality bed & bedding. Vegetarian breakfast provided. Thank you for a delightful stay in a beautiful & interesting small town

Friendly & helpful host, quiet room despite being near the centre of Ashbourne. Comfy too, and had a nice selection of herbal teas, ordinary tea & coffee. I did have to get instructions on where to park when I arrived, but it was easy to park then. Within walking distance to a few places that served evening meals, and the breakfast provided by the host was good. It was a good price for the accommodation and service provided.

Only improvement would be better instructions on how to reach off-street parking before you arrive.

Compton House is such a quaint, comfortable, and friendly B&B. The rooms had everything we needed, including a tea/coffee-making area, and en-suite bathrooms. The location was ideal as it was within a stone's throw from the centre of town, and so everything we needed was easily accessible on foot. We had more contact with Jane, who met our every need in the most accommodating way. She readily gave us advice on what to see, where to go in our spare time, and how to travel to Derby. Her husband David cooked the most delicious full English breakfast. We were a group of 5 adults and 1 child, but we felt welcomed. Thank you to Jane and David for making our wedding weekend stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We recommend Compton House highly, and would return readily!

Owner was a lovely lady - had a nice chat after breakfast. Breakfast was lovely! Good quality sausage and bacon. Location was ideal - close walk into town. Bedroom with annexed single room for our toddler was great. Private enclosed free car parking was brilliant. Price in relation to other places was excellent. Very pleased - would stay again.

The consertina folding door to ensuite was fiddly and we had to watch the little ones fingers in the hinges. On main road so a bit of road noise but didnt stop me sleeping!
