The room was a good size and had a fabulous view of the garden and golf course beyond, shame the double glazed windows had blown so were not clear to look through, noticed a few windows like this across the hotel on our stroll to the Cast Iron bar. Unfortunately didn't get to use the spa facilities as we had plans for the weekend. Coffee was good.Butter spreadable, no having to soften it between slices of toast. Slept well, beds are comfy, and there was no noise from other guests, apart from the room next door when the lady discovered how to switch the shower on, got hit with the cold water and squealed, lol. Taxi ordered for us was prompt. Hotel was clean throughout.
The cooked breakfast was to our expectations, the sausages were cheap, bacon salty, and the tomato sauce was just vinegar. The pastries were small and crispy, seemed like they were frozen packets similar to what I have bought from a supermarket, not made fresh on the premises as I was expecting. Drinks pricey, but was expecting that, decent selection though.

Food, room (with curtains like blackout curtains so slept well), building, grounds and staff. It's a beautiful building with breathtaking, relaxing grounds. Really great to walk around (and a 5k run covering just a fraction of the wider grounds!). Bathroom good and en suite. Staff were so lovely. Really kind and not at all patronising. Smiled and responded to me as if I was being kind too. Love that. And, if I got lost (see below!) staff were always so happy to show me. There always seemed to be someone around. Cleaners wonderful. No wonder it's so nice and clean. I could always find someone cleaning. I loved the breakfasts. Stunning and, again, wonderful smiling staff and spoke kindly to me. Nothing is too much to ask. Thank you. And thank you for the good weather too! :) Signs to rooms are easy to spot and follow and well placed.
It's a beautiful old building so understand there are not a lot of plug points - can't be helped I guess. I kept getting lost but the room signs are easy to follow. I got the layout fairly quickly. It was just fun finding things and the best exits and it's a huge place so that makes its beauty. I don't want to really say anything as it was all so lovely. I had to get room service at the last minute for dinner and I couldn't get a reply to being kindly put through by a very pleasant person. She did give me the extension but I couldn't get through on that either. I got my daughter to order in the end. It all worked out and assumed the restaurant was very busy. I can't complain.

The venue is stunning and impeccably clean, with friendly and polite staff. The room was big and with a very comfy bed.
From our perspective, there are two key areas that could be improved: the swimming pool facilities and dining services. We dined at the venue for both dinner and breakfast but found the food below our expectations. For instance, during breakfast, the pastries (such as croissants) became hard once they reached room temperature. Regarding the swimming pool, there were only eight sunbeds available, which led to us waiting for others to vacate their spots. Additionally, once we found sunbeds, a group of teenagers began playing ball games in the pool, occupying the entire area. Unfortunately, no staff members were present to address this disruption, which impacted the overall experience.

The breakfast was very good. Boys enjoyed the golf and sports facilities were very good. Staff were very friendly and the grounds were lovely. Overall a pleasant stay for the wedding we attended.
No refurb of drinks in rooms and bed not made. Did not appreciate the number of steps to get across from room to restaurant. Not very suitable for those with walking difficulties. Dinner menu was very disappointing not a lot of choice for plain basic diets.

The presentation and upkeep were to a great standard. We really appreciated how lovely all the gardens were. All the hanging baskets looked amazing, the boarders were fantastic, the impressive pear tree overhanging the patio and the manicured lawns just made the place quality. The gardeners / team of gardeners are a credit. The video of the golf course manager on the TV was a really nice touch too. It was very genuine and great to see behind the scenes of the real people and the history of the place. All this Genuinely made the weekend a special visit for us. The leisure facilities were very nice and clean and maintained. The sauna, whirlpool and steam room were excellent. The food in the bar and grill was good and a good price. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive without being OTT. Breakfast was nice and choices were good with a great detail of served up until 11am. 12pm checkout time was great for us too.
Nothing.

I have stayed at the hotel before and it was the same great stay this time. Comfortable family room, good size and facilities. Breakfast excellent with a good choice of hot and cold elements. Well worth it. Free parking and quiet surroundings.
The bathroom was a little tired with a leaking shower screen. Not a bit issue, but made it look a bit tired, when otherwise it was good. There were some swimming lessons on in the morning, which did get in the way of us using the pool before we checked out, so worth checking if you plan on swimming on exit!

Absolutely stunning venue, beautiful grounds, friendly and helpful staff. From the moment we arrived staff were helpful and professional. We were greeted with a lovely scent, flavoured water and fresh fruit as we arrived. The room was clean and spacious. The evening meal and breakfast the next day was superb. Breakfast options were varied and suitable for anyone, including 4 different milks! The nature trail after breakfast soothed our souls, especially as the sun was out. It was only 8 degrees but felt like we was on a summer holiday. Such a chilled place to be - thank you. We will be choosing Marriot hotels where ever we go from now on. We also had a Marriot when we went to Bali, it was superb.
I'd have preferred proper butchers sausages at breakfast rather than the ones supplied. The quilt was feather and so was noisy when moving in bed but this is only 2 very small points in an amazing stay.

Breakfast was elite. Grounds are beautiful, facilities are plentiful. swimming area was great. Short drive from Alton towers. a lovely family retreat that won't disappoint. Cannot comment on evening dining as I used Uber eats.
Rooms where comfy and well stocked, some shabby touches like mold around the bath could easily be put right. Some Staff where lovely but some also came across as grump and maybe even felt like I was looked up and down by a bar staff member.

The Room and Facilities were excellent and exceeded my expectations. The Evening Meal in the Restaurant and Service received from Dan was excellent. The Choice and Quality of the Breakfast was wonderful and the time (from 07.00 to 11.00) made it very leisurely.
On Arrival. our initial contact at Reception with Sue was not what we would expect or desire from that role. She was Sharp and quite 'Cold' in her manner. She told us twice that our Room was not ready and yet it transpired, when we told her otherwise, that she had got us mixed up with someone else! Not an ideal welcome at any hotel. All the other Reception Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and professional.

From the moment we arrived to the hotel although we arrive late around 11 pm but everything was exceptional, Landscaping, the reception building, the staff the room. In the morning we like the breakfast restaurant and the outside area. after breakfast we go for a walk in the secret garden and really its was exceptional. Our room view was great its was direct to the Fountain. Really a very beautiful place and we enjoy our stay there.
If there was AC in the room, as we spent 10 days in the hotel, Most of the days the weather was lovely and nice but the 4 days especially during the day its really hot.
